12th june 2009, 10:00am: There I was, drinking tea, when I heard the clatter of rotor blades get louder and louder...........County Midlands Air Ambulance Service (Helicopter) Shropshire/West Midlands landed in parkland just round the corner from my suburban life to rescue a seriously hurt road traffic accident victim. They do a great job, here's their website: www.transportcafe.co.uk states "This service needs public support, donations from collection boxes, donations from companies who appreciate the service they give, donations from individuals or any group" -you'll notice that I videoed only the take-off (I arrived after they landed). -Also, out of respect for the workers AND their patient (plus my own personal safety) I kept WELL OUT OF THE WAY and took no videos of them treating the patient, or carrying their patient to the 'chopper. -The pilot of this Eurocopter, whihc I guess was a BK-117 but turns out is a EC135T2, is very skilled!

This advert was broadcast on 24 November 1984 to publicise the "Travelcard" prepaid bus/rail ticket available in the West Midlands County area. The West Midlands may well have been a pioneer in introducing such tickets in the 1970's. In the early 1950's Walsall Corporation obtained powers to have such tickets for use on buses and trolleybuses, but never actually introduced them.

The 2012 Olympic torch making its way through Oldbury, Sandwell. 30/06/12. Approximately 17:50. It happened in (correct me if i'm wrong) week 3 of the torch relay. Sorry about the quality of the video, had to use my phone camera again. I was stood by one of the bus stops, near Sainsbury's opposite the new library. Not entirely sure who was carrying the torch. I'll be honest, i dont really care that much about the olympics and didnt want to go to see the torch. It only lasted around 5 seconds if that, and i didnt even know who was carrying the flame!! If it had been David Beckham or Sir Steve Redgrave then yeah maybe i can understand why you'd see it but nah, not for me. Follow me on twitter: twitter.com
