NYCTA Station Tour: Fulton Street Station (w/Peek of the New Fulton Transit Center Outside)
Subscribe for the Latest =)! MTA New York City Subway IRT 7th Avenue Line (2) (3) | IRT Lexington Avenue Line (4) (5) | IND 8th Avenue Line (A) (C) | BMT Nassau Street Line (J) (Z) I decided to bring in a tour of the current station and also a look at the building of the new Fulton Street Transportation Center. Clip is OVER 20min long! The Center enables a connection between all lines (As well as the Future WTC HUB, (1) (E) (R) ) as well as future retail outlets included. The station is suppose to complete some where 2014. Please note, this tour does not cover 100% of the station. As always, please excuse the shaking, I'm trying to keep my butt from getting hit with security issues. Don't want to view the whole thing? No problem! Just go to the time frame where the following lines begins: IND 8th Avenue (A) (C): 0:00 Beginning BMT Nassau Street Line (NOTE: During the time of filming, the platform was closed, and was only able to get a peek with some staircases.): 05:20 IRT Broadway / 7th Avenue (2) (3): 9:00 IRT Lexington Avenue (4) (5) / MID-JUNE CLIP: 15:54 Fulton Street Transit Center (Outside ONLY): 22:45 This tour was taken various days and has / will continue to change thru time. The platform tours (EXCEPT 4/5) were taken somewhere late May 2012, the 4/5 and the outside was taken Mid June 2012! Future tours is in question mark. If none is done, then the next will be when the Center opens. (TRAINS ARE NOT FOCUSED HERE) Enjoy =)! Video Taken: VARIOUS DAYS [Late May ...

UPDATE! One World Trade Center / Freedom Tower Construction progress taken 8/18/2012 part 3
This is part 3 of my official update. Here we will look at the Fulton Street Transit center by request of a subscriber. Then we take another look at Three World Trade Center before I move over to Two World Trade Center. There has been some but not much work on Two World Trade Center as it is also suffering from leasing problems. So I went to my usual spot at the fence to look through at the core of Two World Trade Center. As you can see some ventilation pipes and some steel around the core has been added but nothing major has been added yet. Tower 2 is being held at street level until a tenant is found and then again once a tenant is found Two World Trade Center will be built to it's full height of 88 stories. After looking at that I continue to look at One and Four World Trade Center as I move right under One World Trade Center for a closer look. Be sure to comment and let me know what you think!

NYC Subway: A Look at the Cortlandt Street BMT Underpass (North Side)
Taken on 9.8.11. This underpass is used for passengers who wish to enter or exit at the southbound platform at Cortlandt Street on the BMT. Access to the street isn't allowed due to construction of the World Trade Center. This underpass will eventually be the link to the World trade Center Transit Hub to the Fulton Street Transit Center.

NYC Subway: R46 (R) Train Entering & Leaving Cortlandt Street-World Trade Center (Southbound)
Taken on 9.6.11. The southbound platform at Cortlandt Street BMT had been closed since August 27th, 2005 due to construction work at the Fulton Street Transit Center and the reconstruction at the World Trade Center. As of the reopening, one must decend an underpass and re-emerge onto the northbound platform to exit.

UPDATE! One World Trade Center / Freedom Tower construction progress taken 2/12/2012 Part 3
This is the last part of this update and I hope you enjoy! Next update will be posted either late February or early March. As I continue we can now see more progress on Tower 4 3 and 2 World Trade Center. Tower 4 has definitely gained more height, concrete, and glass installation. After looking at Tower 4 I move to Tower 3 where we can get a better look at the concrete core starting to rise out of the ground. The core and the basement floors are the strongest part of all the buildings so it may be a little while longer before we see structure steel rise for Tower 3 there. After looking at Tower 3's core I look back up to One World Trade Center before I walk back to Fulton Street. Earlier I had got a request to show the construction of the Fulton Street Transit Center so I walked over to look at that. The Fulton Street Transit Center has made good progress as well and serves NYC Subway trains. Trains at this station are the ACJZ 2 3 4 and 5 trains uptown and downtown service. This station will be completed soon as well. After seeing the progress at the station I start to move back down to the World Trade Center site to look at Tower 2's core and base construction. Steel has started to rise on the outer base and the building core is starting to rise out of the ground. Tower 2 is slightly behind Tower 3 at this time. After that I walk further up. By this time I was completely frozen so I decided to end the update here. I hope you enjoyed this update! Again next update will ...

Renovation of A, B, C Line Subway as Part of Fulton Street Center Project
Video clip shows the approach (construction method and sequence) to renovate the A, B, C line in a city block near the Fulton Street Transit Center in New York City. This approach was developed, documented, and communicated through the use of 4D models, combining scheduling information from Primavera's Project Management system with 3D CAD information from 3D modeling tools by Bentley and Autodesk.

Original Column Layout with Poor Passenger Visibility
Video clip shows a walkthrough in the Fulton Street Transit Center. This walkthrough crosses two design packages (package one ended with the escalator and package two started at the top of the escalator). It showed the designers and program managers that the passenger wayfinding was poor given the alignment of the escalator and the columns and led to a design change (shown in video 7146865).

NY's 9/11 Memorial: When Did Honoring the Dead Become an Occassion for Fleecing the Living?
More than a decade after the 9/11 attacks, a new World Trade Center is finally rising, along with a memorial, museum, and a transit hub. When the projects are slated to open they'll supposedly symbolize America's strength, determination, and refusal to cave in. But they really tell a different story about taxpayer rip-offs, public-sector incompetence, and union and corporate greed. One World Trade Center, formerly known as the Freedom Tower, will be the most expensive office building in American history by a long shot. Cost overruns have driven the price tag to $3.8 billion. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the public agency that's running the show, is sticking commuters with part of the tab by hiking tolls across the Hudson River to $12. The new complex will dump 3-million square feet of office space into a soft rental market meaning Condé Nast, the flush publisher of The New Yorker, Wired, and Vanity Fair, got beau coups subsidies to move in. And who-other-than the federal government signed on to fill up five floors at a cost of $351 million over 20 years? Even The New York Times' stimulus-pimping columnist Joe Nocera has called World Trade Center rebuilding an "example of just about everything wrong with modern government," asking, "where's the Tea Party when you need them?" Just down the street from the Trade Center, a federally-financed transit hub is a billion dollars over budget, now coming in around $3.4 billion. Construction costs for the September ...
