GreenRing - Bicycle riders and walkers must make their way through a thicket of busy and noisy streets if they want to reach any green spots in the Gush Dan region. But now a new organization has come to their aid, suggesting the many existing plans for park extensions and bike path networks finally be put into effect to create a green belt. This belt would allow for an unbroken path from the Yarkon River in the north to the park planned for the Hiriya area in the south, as well as toward the sea and back. The non-profit organization - called GreenRing - was started recently by two architects who live in Gush Dan and manage an office together, Ilan Abramovitz and Dan Grynhaus. "We love to walk and discovered that if you ride a bicycle in Yarkon Park you can't continue on to the next park without passing through crowded streets," Abramovitz said. Abramovitz and Grynhaus decided to do something to help create a continuous path between stretches of green. Many cities around the world, including several in Israel, understand the notion that such areas lose a great deal of their impact if they are not directly connected to each other. The architects say that while working out the new idea, they learned that the green-belt concept had already spread to Moscow, Sidney, Bremen and some Spanish cities. Other green belts are also in various stages of planning and execution in a few large Israeli cities. Completing the route There is a solid basis for a green belt in Gush Dan ...

The Shomron - Samaria - Israel's Higher Ground
The Shomron Liaison Office was established to provide the local, regional and international community with information on the Shomron. In an effort to increase and enhance our informational services, the Shomron Regional Council has initiated exciting new programs including guided tours in the Shomron, providing participants with a firsthand perspective of the growing communities, diversified residents and dynamic developments in the region. Highlights of the tours include: Boutique wineries and vineyards on the peeks of the mountains, organic farms in Ithamar, Ariel Universtiy (whose student body is 12000 strong), among many others. Participants are taken to Barkan and other communities where they get a scenic view from "Israel's Balcony". It is called "Israel's Mirpeset" because from these spots can be seen the Gush Dan Region, including Tel Aviv, Ben Gurion Airport and various other coastal cities. We look forward and welcome you to our home, the Shomron! David Ha'ivri Executive Director The Shomron Liaison Office

Bat Yam (Hebrew: בת ים) is a city located on Israel's Mediterranean Sea coast
Bat Yam (Hebrew: בת ים) is a city located on Israel's Mediterranean Sea coast, on the central coastal strip, just south of Tel Aviv. Real estate sale in Bat Yam - arenda.israelhome.ru Short-term rent of apartments in Bat Yam - arenda.israelhome.ru Part of the Gush Dan metropolitan area, in the Tel Aviv District, the city is home to 129100 people.[1] Early history Bat Yam was established in 1926 as Bayit VaGan (Hebrew: בית וגן; House and Garden), and was geared toward Orthodox Jews. During the 1929 Palestine riots, Bayit VaGan came under attacks by Arab gangs from neighbouring Jaffa and was evacuated by British Authorities before being reestablished in 1930. In 1936 the town was given the status of local council, and in 1938, the name of the town was changed to Bat Yam. By 1945 the population had grown to 2000 Jews.[2] [edit] Israeli Independence Following the United Nations vote in favour of a partition plan on 29 November 1947 and the subsequent outbreak of violence, Bat Yam came under heavy attack from Jaffa, until Jaffa surrendered on 13 May 1948. Bat Yam Municipal Stadium In the years following Israel's independence, Bat Yam grew dramatically due to mass immigration, gaining the status of a city in 1958. After this point, however, Bat Yam began to suffer from an Israeli version of "white flight". As more and more immigrants moved to the city, socio-economic problems began to appear.
