Chen Tuan (871-989) was a legendary Taoist sage. His birth name was Chen Tuan (Simplified Chinese: 陈抟; Traditional Chinese: 陳摶; Pinyin: Chén Tuán); his courtesy name was Tunan (图南/圖南 Túnán); his pseudonym as a sage was (Wade-Giles) Chen Hsi I (Pinyin) Chén Xīyí (陳希夷) or Master Xīyí 希夷先生 or Fúyáozǐ 扶搖子. In Chinese, he is often respectfully referred to as "Aged Ancestor Chen Tuan" (陳摶老祖 Chén Tuán Lǎozǔ) and "Ancestral Teacher Xiyi" (希夷祖師 Xīyí Zǔshī). Little is certain about his life, including when and where he was born. He was born around the end of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms Period and the start of the Song Dynasty, possibly in what is now Luyi in Henan Province.

According to certain Taoist schools who claim him as a founder, he lived a secluded life in the Nine Room Cave on Mount Wudang. Later at Mount Hua, one of the five sacred mountains of China, he is said to have created the kung fu system Liuhebafa ("Six Harmonies and Eight Methods"). Along with this internal art, he is also said to be associated with a method of Qi (energy) cultivation known today as Taiji ruler, sleeping meditation, a 24 Daoyin Qigong Method (er shi shi ssu shih tao yin fa) seated and standing exercises designed to prevent diseases that occur during seasonal change.

The story goes that Chen Tuan had planned a career at the Imperial court, but flunked the state examination and became a hermit sage instead. He was also said to be conversant with the Confucian classics, history, and the theories of various schools of thought. In his legends he was said to be fond of taoist philosophy, medical principles, astronomy and geography, and famous for his poems as well. Chen Tuan liked to study the I Ching, which he was unable to put down. Chen Tuan, styled Tunan, titled himself Fuyao Zi (one soaring upward in the high sky, like a roc in Nan Hua Jing written by Zhuangzi) born in Zhenyuan of Haozhou (Hao County of Anhui Province nowadays). As a Taoist master in the late Tang Dynasty, Five Dynasties and early Northern Song Dynasty, Chen was astonishingly intelligent and erudite in his childhood. He travelled here and there and dwelled in Wudang Mountain for two decades at the beginning. Later he lived a hermit’s life in Huashan at the First Year of Xiande Period of Later Zhou Dynasty (one of the Five Dynasties).

Chen Tuan has a good command of primordial Yi learning, teaches River Chart and Luo River Book as well as Infinite and Taiji Charts. As a culminant figure of Taoist doctrines who pioneers the Confucian school of idealist philosophy of the Song and Ming Dynasties, he has a profound influence upon later generations. He is adept in practicing Taoist inner alchemy and often sleep meditation. Strange to say, it often takes several months for sleeping meditation practice; and as a result was known as the "Sleeping Immortal." Having rejected emperor’s orders and edicts, was still conferred the title of “Master Xi Yi" (Master of the Inaudible and Invisible) by the Emperor Taizong of the Song Dynasty. During the first year of Duangong Period of the Emperor Taizong, Chen appointed his disciples to cut a stone chamber in the Zhao Chao Valley (later renamed Xi Yi Valley); then Chen Tuan presented a report to the imperial court in which he wrote the following note: “I will die soon. I am about to leave, nowadays I’m transformed in the Zhang Chao Valley at the foot of Lotus Peak on the 27th day of the tenth month of the lunar calendar”. By the time he died when he cupped his check in the hand his facial features still remained without a change.

Chen Tuan once told to his disciples: “I will visit Emei Mountain next year.” Later a secret agent saw him at Emei Mountain, only to find no trace of Chen Tuan while he was looking for him. Many tales of Chen Tuan have been circulated around; for instance: "He wanders around and shows no concern for worldy benefits. However, Chen still cares about the ordinary people and is compassionate so that he is deeply respected by the people. This Taoist sage was considered the embodiment of the Supreme Lord Lao and received the nickname of “Aged Ancestor”, a symbol of Taoism in Huashan.

According to the "semi-historical" biography of Gen. Yue Fei, it was the immortal Chen Tuan who, disguised as a wandering Taoist, warned the Yue Family of the imminent Yellow River flood.

Shiatzy Chen (夏姿) is a Taiwanese fashion house, whose founder and brand innovator Wang Chen Tsai-Hsia (王陳彩霞) is often referred to as the Chanel of Taiwan,and is the eponym of her luxury goods brand.^[1] She was born in 1951 in Changhua, Taiwan and founded the company in 1978. The brand spirit for Shiatzy Chen is "neo-Chinese chic", which transfers historical Chinese aesthetics into modern fashion design. Shiatzy adopts Chinese aesthetics in combination with western cuttings and Chinese handcrafting techniques.The brand is known for its distinctive design features drawn from Chinese culture such as qipao collars, knot buckles, or patterns in a Chinese ink painting.^[2]

Changhua-born Wang Chen Tsai-Hsia was not formally educated in the industry but learned her trade by working at her uncle's factory. She met her husband Wang Yuan-hong (王元宏), a smart businessman in the textile trade, and together they founded Shiatzy International Company Limited in 1978, over which they maintain total control. For over 30 years Wang worked on making her name in the local market and had built a client list of nearly 25,000 people, in 2011 sales reached about US$60 million, according to the company. Wives of politicians, diplomats and business executives, in particular, would purchase Shiatzy's dresses before taking trips abroad.^{[citation needed]} In fact, these women, with their significant purchasing power, constitute the majority of the company's customers in Taiwan many of whom are high society types. In 1990, Shiatzy Chen set up a studio in Paris to stay on top of fashion trends and to learn more about Western dressmaking techniques. The studio also serves as a training center for Taiwanese dressmakers and designers.

A line of men's wear was added to the company's product list in 1987. The label men's wear line has a strong following among politicians, technology millionaires, banking and telecoms tycoons, artistic types, costume collectors and clotheshorses. Although Shiatzy Chen does not have a bespoke men's line, a part of her men's wear business is devoted to the sale of off-the-peg expensive chang paos intended for weddings and traditional engagement parties. Quilted (or padded) jackets have consistently been among Chen's most popular items in her winter collections. They usually come with a wide range of options as to fabric, pattern, color combination, and style. They are often reversible, with silk inside and cotton outside, or vice versa. The winter quilted jackets are usually the first to sell out during sales.^[3]

Designer Wang entered the Chinese market in 2003 in Shanghai and opened up further stores in Hong Kong and Beijing. Shiatzy Chen's Shanghai flagship store, which opened in October 2005, exhibit a distinctively Chinese heritage amidst the parade of Western fashion marques that now dominate The Bund. The building's Chinese pedigree made it an obvious location for Ms. Wang ambition to create a strong Chinese presence on the Bund. Work on restoring the original, red brick exterior look and on converting offices into a modern and artistic showplace for Shiatzy Chen's exquisite creations began in late 2001.

The interior was fashioned by the renowned Indonesian designer Jaya Ibrahim. This is in addition to the 48 outlets she already has in Taiwan, 23 directly managed stores and 25 department store counters. The company presently has over 1,000 employees and manufactures more than 100,000 items of clothing each year. After years of running a factory in suburban Taipei, the company opened its second one in Shanghai in 2007. The building of 6600 square meters has been designed by German architect Johannes Hartfuss,more than 1,000 employees including dressmakers and embroiderers are employed to produce tens of thousands of clothing items annually based on over 400 styles created by its designers. A large proportion of profits is going into research and design, there will also be further recruitment of talent in design, marketing and manufacturing.^[4]

In 2001, Shiatzy Chen branched into the international market with a store in Paris. The company has enough funds to expand quickly over the next 10 years and achieve significant market penetration, not just in China—the short-term goal—but in the mature high-end markets of New York, Milan, London and Tokyo, which made the Taiwanese fashion brand the first to enter the European market and attracted the attention of fashionistas around the world. Shiatzy Chen is one of the few homegrown designer labels in Taiwan with an international clientele. Mainland China remains the primary focus, with a factory and an office in Shanghai and a target of 50 mainland stores by 2010. The label has also been trying to diversify its product line. About three years ago, it began expanding its catalogue with accessories sold in all Shiatzy stores and furniture, available at the three flagship stores in Taipei, Shanghai and Paris. The label has been listed on the London-based Financial Times pick of what is hot in 2004. It was also deemed the most popular fashion brand in Taiwan by The Wall Street Journal Asia.

Shiatzy Chen designs attract many famous clients such as Elizabeth Hurley, Shaw-Lan Wang, Lin Chi-ling, Patty Hou, Brigitte Lin, Pansy Ho, Rainie Yang, Ting-Ting Hu, Dee Hsu, international style icon Victoria Beckham, Aska Yang, Leehom Wang, Jason Hu, Ming Dow, Tsai Ming-liang and the current President of Taiwan Ma Ying-jeou.^[5] In June 2010, Shiatzy Chen and the tea culture brand CHA CHA THÉ opened an exclusive sales area in the super upscale Galeries Lafayette department store in Paris.^[6] One hundred models showed off 100 dresses with the theme of flowers at Taipei's Lin An-tai Ancestral Home,located in the park for the Taipei International Flora Expo.The ideas for the dresses came from the many kinds of flowers in Taiwan to reflect the theme of the expo. The show has broken three records in Taiwan's fashion business - the longest catwalk, the most models in one show, and the longest finishing pose. A total of 100 EeLin models took to the catwalk with Shiatzy Chen's flora-inspired spring-summer collection, approximately 200 people, including politicians and ambassadors, attended the show.^[7]

Paris Fashion Week[link]

In 2008 Wang prepares her label's Paris Fashion Week debut, Shiatzy Chen becomes just the second Taiwanese design house to show a collection at the official Paris Fashion Week (the first was Yufengshawn, 馭風騷, in 2005). Shiatzy Chen, presented the show on October 5, 2008 at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts on the Left Bank in central Paris. The debut of Shiatzy Chen's spring/summer 2009 collection in October is also a highlight as the label celebrates its 30th anniversary. The show was of great significance for the fashion label because it was one of the official events of the Paris Fashion Week. They quickly drew the attention of more than 200 international buyers, media members and fashion aficionados, impressing them with outfits that have distinctive Chinese design features. The fashion house now plans to take part in the event regularly in order to build a global reputation. For the Taiwan market, which remains the major source of revenue, the company stages fashion shows twice a year. Unlike most big international fashion shows abroad that present clothing half a year ahead of time, however, Shiatzy's shows in Taiwan launch collections only for the current season. This is because the Taiwan shows are mostly for Shiatzy's VIP clients, who purchase the clothes for their own use, rather than commercial buyers. Anna Wintour was the inspiration for the Shiatzy Chen collection A/W 2010/ 11, shown at the Beaux Arts at Paris Fashion Week. All the girls wore her famous bob and tinted glasses, along with some feminine but strict dresses, very working girl, the woman CEO type. On November 9, 2009 Shiatzy Chen became a member of the Chambre syndicale du prêt-à-porter des couturiers et des créateurs de mode.^[8][9][10]

Shiatzy Chen recently^[when?] opened Cha Cha Thé/采采食茶文化, an upscale modern space tea lounge bar in Taipei. Chic clientele show up for pricey afternoon tea meals and buy designer tea ware and other expensively packaged gifts. In order to set the brand on a new direction, Shiatzy Chen identified the opportunity for a range of tea related products, the creation of a custom-made packaging approach for a diverse array of products ranging from exquisite patisserie and rare teas, through to ceramic tea sets. The products themselves reflect the diverse heritage of tea culture and share a passion for detail and an intimate knowledge of the design of the tea experience. Cha Cha Thé/采采食茶文化 is part of a global business; the option of opening branches in some other major cities is now being explored. There are plans to open similar shops in Beverly Hills, New York City and London.^[11]

Exhibitions[link]

From June 23 to September 13, 2010, more than 270 qipao of different styles and eras were displayed at the Hong Kong Museum of History entitled The Evergreen Classic – Transformation of the Qipao. With some 400 pictures and nine multi-media programmes, the exhibition gave the public an opportunity to view the full development of the qipao and to appreciate its classic beauty. Besides featuring qipao from different times, the exhibition also displayed several signature showpieces of Shiatzy Chen presented at Paris Fashion Week to give new perspectives on how a contemporary fashion designer injected fashion and modern elements into the qipao and reinterpreted the qipao tradition.^[12]

Fala Chen' (simplified Chinese: 陈法拉; traditional Chinese: 陳法拉; pinyin: Chén Fǎlā, born 24 February 1982) is a Hong Kong actress currently under contract with TVB, and a singer under Stars Shine International Ltd. Previously a Chinese-American beauty pageant titleholder, Chen has also held the titles of Miss Asian America 2002 and Miss NY Chinese 2004, and placed as runner-up in Miss Chinatown USA 2003 (Miss Chinese Chamber of Commerce) and Miss Chinese International 2005.

Chen was born and raised in Chengdu, People's Republic of China. She migrated to the United States with her parents at the age of 14. Graduating with Top 10 in high school, she then moved on to attend Emory University in Georgia, where she majored in Marketing and International business and minored in Japanese. During her first year in college, she started entering beauty pageants which helped kick start her path to stardom. She eventually graduated from Goizueta Business School of Emory University with a BBA degree in May, 2005.

The Road to TVB[link]

Representing Georgia, Chen entered the Miss Asian America 2002 pageant. At the young age of 19, she took the crown on August 2002, with her traditional peacock dance performance that was taught by her mother. ^[1]

After taking the Miss Asian America crown in 2002, she entered the Miss Chinatown USA 2003 pageant. Traveling to San Francisco to compete, she took the Miss Chinese Chamber of Commerce 2003 title (as 1st runner-up). The winner was Miss Honolulu, Hawaii, Darah Dung.

After participating in two Chinese pageants, she moved on to participate in the Miss Chinese International pageant, and that was when she took part in the Miss NY Chinese 2004 pageant. She joined the pageant on 13 August 2004, and took the crown and three awards (Best in Costume, Best in MTV, and Miss Photogenic.) After winning, she was able to represent New York at the 2005 Miss Chinese International pageant even though she was from Georgia.

In January 2005, Chen traveled to Hong Kong to compete for the Miss Chinese International 2005 crown. On 29 January 2005, she competed at TVB City for the crown. She earned a place as first runner-up for the city of New York. The eventual winner was Leanne Li from Vancouver.

After Graduating from Emory University in May, 2005, Chen decided to venture to Hong Kong to sign a contract with TVB. She first started out in her career as a host on tvb8's mandarin channel variety shows, before moving on to television dramas a year after. Her acting debut was TVB series Forensic Heroes, where she started as an accidental murderess.

For a time, Chen was unfavored by some audiences due to the dislike many people held towards the antagonists she played in series such as Steps.^{[citation needed]} However, Chen has succeeded in her TVB career with her appearances in 2008 production Moonlight Resonancewhere played a mute character using all sign language in the 40-episode drama, earning her audiences' favor once again in the latter TV show.^{[citation needed]}

In 2007, Chen won the first award in her acting career - TVB Best Supporting Actress, for her role as Carmen in Steps.

In 2008, Chen's acting career started to take off where she starred in more than 100 episodes of TV drama. Her first female lead character is Mimi Hong in Catch Me Now. Her portrayal of both female character as a fox spirit Ling Hu Xiao Cui and male character Ling Hu Da Deng in the Chinese period drama Ghost Writer has well received as well.

In 2009, Chen took her first leading female character in movie Turning Point as Michael Tse's girlfriend and Francis Ng's sister. she was nominated as Best New Performer at the 29th Hong Kong Film Award]] for this movie.

In 2010, Fala Chen won Best Supporting Actress for her role Lau Ching in No Regrets. This role has also brought her recognition at the 16th Asian Television Award in Singapore as The Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

In 2011, Chen reunited with Michael Tse in Lives of Omission, the drama received highest TV rating at 48 points.

Linda Chung Ka-yan (Chinese: 鍾嘉欣) (born 9 April 1984) is a Chinese-Canadian actress and singer active in Hong Kong and currently signed with TVB. She entered the entertainment industry in 2004 when she won the 2004 Miss Chinese International Pageant after winning the 2003 Miss Chinese Vancouver Pageant. She is now an actress under TVB and a singer under the Star Shine International label. She has starred in several TV series, most notably Virtues of Harmony II (2004–05), Heart of Greed (2007), A Journey Called Life (2008), The Gem of Life (2008–09), Yes, Sir. Sorry, Sir! (2011). She is a well-known actress in Hong Kong and worldwide.

Chung was born in Maple Ridge, British Columbia and raised in Vancouver.^[1] She has an elder brother and an older sister.^[2] Chung is a Canadian national. She has obtained a Hong Kong identification card after staying in Hong Kong for seven years.

After graduation from Vancouver's Templeton Secondary School, Chung obtained high marks and entered the University of British Columbia for two years in education.

Pageant career[link]

Chung participated and won the champion in a beauty-talent show hosted by Crystal Mall, an Asian mall located in Burnaby, British Columbia.^[3]

In 2003, Chung won the title of Miss Chinese Vancouver,^[4] along with three awards in the same event. In 2004, she joined Miss Chinese International, a beauty pageant organized by TVB. She was praised by Kelly Chen for her sweet face and voice the date before the pageant.^[5] As a result, she became the third contestant from Vancouver in four years to win Miss Chinese International.

Early in TVB[link]

Chung agreed and signed a contract with TVB to be her artist after three months. Chung made her acting debut in the series Virtues of Harmony II, the modern spin-off of the sitcom, Virtues of Harmony. She triumphantly acted her first role, Michelle Hung, who was somewhat popular in the year and her acting has been approved for her debut series.^[6][7][8][9] She was nominated the "Most Improved Female Actress Award" in 2004's TVB Anniversary Awards for the first time.^[10] In a short period, Chung took in several advertisements and music video. Thus, with the successful role of Michelle Hung and the number of adverts, TVB and many of who supervises the manufacture of series providing her opportunities for being one of the leading actress then.^[11][12] As her charming appearance and the role of Michelle Hung, TVB selected her to be one of the "Twelve new stars" for promotion. Many actor and actress have also praised either for her hard work, pure, politeness, fealty, punctual, beauty, good manner, or her connotation, such as Nancy Sit,^[13] Lisa Wong, Frankie Lam^[14] and Hong Kong Film Awards "Best Actress" Kara Hui, Shawn Yue,^[15] Chen Kun, Hong Kong Film Awards "Best Actor" Kent Cheng,^[16] Sammy Leung,^[17] Wong He,^[18][19] Joey Leung and Erica Yuen.^[20]

Thereafter, her role in Always Ready, The Biter Bitten and Forensic Heroes earned her the "Most Improved Female Actress Award" in TVB Anniversary Awards (2006).^[21] Moreover, her role Sandra Sze in Always Ready used to nominate the "Top 10 Most Favourite Character Role" Award in 2005. Her role Lam Dingding in Forensic Heroes got an awards of the "Most Perfect sweetie" from one of the magazine in Hong Kong, also garnering her a nomination for "Best Actress" and "My Most Favourite Female Character Role" in TVB Anniversary Awards (2006) for the first time. Chung was the second time to be the leading actress in Best Bet, her acting had received praise from Michael Tse, Idy Chan^[22] and Louise Lee.^[23] Most importantly, her role, Sheung Joy Sum^[24] in the series Heart of Greed has been described as her breakthrough role as Chung received much praise from audiences and several famous people. The role in Heart of Greed garnering her a nomination for "Best Actress"^[31] and "My Most Favourite Female Character Role"^[32] in TVB Anniversary Awards (2007). Among the two nominations, Chung was first got into top 5 of "My Most Favourite Female Character Role". Among the five series which released in the year of 2008,^[36] Chung's acting has more recognized in A Journey Called Life^[37][38] as TVB Anniversary Awards "Best Actress" Sheren Tang used to praise for her acting^[39] and she received much praise from audiences. At the 41st TVB Anniversary Awards (2008), Chung was nominated top 5 in the "Best Actress" award for her role in A Journey Called Life. She was also nominated for "Most Favourite Female Character Role" Award for her role in Legend of the Demigods which was her first time to be the leading actress in the series. Her original role in the series Moonlight Resonance has been substituted to another actress for some unbeknown reason and she had been assigned to be Raymond Lam's screen couple, therefore, Chung acted the role of Yu So Sum eventually. But, this role still increased her visibility, as the scene of her fierce exchange with Yan Hung garnered a 50-point rating, making it the most-watched scene in all TVB series to date. In 2009, Chung finished filming Ghost Writer, A Watchdog's Tale and Twilight Investigation. 2010's drama Can't Buy Me Love was filmed from December 2009 to April 2010 with other actors and actresses such as Charmaine Sheh and Moses Chan. Besides, at the 42nd TVB Anniversary Awards (2009), Chung was nominated top 5 in the "Best Supporting Actress" for her role in The Gem of Life^[41] and this role received praise from Ada Choi,^[42] Lee San San and Maggie Shiu.^[43]

In the year of 2010, Chung had four series, whom was the leading actress, televised. A Watchdog's Tale released in 2009 actually, but the series got the highest audience rating in the first season in 2010^[44] and top five series in audience rating in the whole year.^[45] In A Watchdog's Tale, Chung got another breakthrough while she was acting a likeness of the masculine role.^[46][47] At the 2010 TVB Anniversary Awards, Chung was nominated top 5 in the "Best Actress" award for her role in Ghost Writer^[48] and also nominated top 5 in the "Most Favourite Female Character Role" award for her role in Can't Buy Me Love. While Chung was filming the ancient costume drama "River of Wine" in December 2010, she received praise from Bowie Lam as for her weeping scene.^[54]

Chung was also captured by media to be the "The successor of fa-dan" and one of the "Best new-coming fa-dan" with Myolie Wu, Kate Tsui and Fala Chen as the first-class performance of Chung in several series before the day.

In 2011, Chung was the second female lead in "Yes, Sir. Sorry, Sir!". She had just played her character Miss Koo from the 8th episode till the end. Although she had few scenes and only unrequited to love the main lead in the series like Ron Ng, she became the focus for the audience and internet users by the three sections of Miss Koo. First, she appeared as a cool bowling coach initially. Next, Miss Koo seems to be a melting glacier as she was affected by Law Sir (Moses Chan's character), this made the audience pay enthusiastic attention on their sweet and emotional scenes. When it was nearly came to an end, Law Sir's undercover identity was finally revealed, Miss Koo was collapsed since she has been deceived by Law Sir and her sister (Queenie Chu's character). This also left a deep impression in the audience mind. The audience was one-sided praise for her performance and agreed that she is perfectly capable of competing in the year-end awards ceremony. It was rare that the major newspapers reported the above matter at the same time. She was not only supported by Chan and Yeung, but she also supported by Queenie Chu, Cilla Kung^[55] and Lau Ka Ho.^[56] On the whole, Chung received full of praise and Miss Koo is one of the representative work for Linda Chung.^[57]

As Chung amazed performance till mid 2011, TVB Anniversary Awards "Best Actress" Charmaine Sheh,^[58] Hong Kong Film Award for Best Director Gordon Chan,^[59] Hong Kong Film director Patrick Kong, Hong Kong CR1 DJ,^[60] Tvb actress Helen Ma,^[61] Kate Tsui^[62] and Myolie Wu^[63] praised supported her either to be the next "Best Actress" or got an award in TVB Anniversary Awards,^[64][65] or to be the first-actress.

Finally, she was nominated for Top 5 "Best Actress" and "Most Favourite Female Character Role" award for her role in "Yes, Sir. Sorry, Sir!".^[66] She got the My Most Supportive Performance award from Ming Pao Anniversary Awards in 2011 for Miss Koo in Yes Sir, Sorry Sir according to voting from audience. However, Miss Koo lost out the "Most Favourite Female Character Role" award at the 2011 TVB Anniversary Awards, and TVB was criticized as later the actual results of the online voting actually proved her the rightful winner of the "Most Favourite Female Character Role" award, instead of Myolie Wu.^[67] Fans were also outraged that she left the 2011 TVB Anniversary Awards empty handed.^[68]

Recent situation[link]

Chung filmed "L'Escargot" in 2010 and it was finally aired in 2012. Her character was involved in a complicated love triangle with Michael Tse and Ron Ng's characters. She herself spoke about the many new challenges she faced while portraying her character. Generally, part of the public was impressed by her vivid acting in this TV series but there are also part of the netizens that criticized her .^[69] In addition, her relation line with Tse has gained her more public exposure and was the topic of popular discussion.

On March 19th 2012, her new series Daddy Good Deeds aired and her character Ko Yu-chu spread fun to the public. She and Steven Ma collaborated five times in TVB, was a terrific couple on screen. Her third series House of Harmony and Vengeance is airing on TVB.

Chung filmed her first movie, Love Is Not All Around, alongside Alex Fong, Stephy Tang and Sammy Leung in 2007, she was praise by its director Patrick Kong.^[70] She was nominated for "Best New Performer" for her role Ching Ching and won the Silver Award. Chung has already succeed in entering the films industry,^[71] the same year with Kate Tsui.^[72]

Later, Chung was first being the leading actress in the film Playboy Cops in 2008, she received praise in the almost last scenes. In the meantime, she acted as a guest star in the similar movie of Love Is Not All Around, L for Love, L for Lies, also got praise from the performance.

Her latest movie in 2010 is 72 Tenants of Prosperity.^[73] Chung has received praise from Eric Tsang for her hard work and purity,^[74] and also especially received full of praise from Hong Kong Film Awards "Best Actress" Anita Yuen for her effort, positive personality, hard work and improvement in this movie.^[75]

As Chung charmingly interpretation in TVB, Hong Kong Film Award for Best Director Gordon Chan calling Chung and commend she is the best young actress who come from TV station and one of the best actress in Hong Kong.^[76]

In addition to acting, Chung used to receive praise in some live show for her singing. Chung has sung the theme songs for some of the series that she has starred in then, including her first personal song "Swear" for Legends of Demigods,^[77] Best Bet, A Journey Called Life, A Watchdog's Tale and the subtheme for Heart of Greed. Chung has also sung the children's songs, which were welcomed by children.^[78] In May 2008, Chung signed a deal with Star Entertainment which launched her into a successful music career.^[79] Her first album was released on 20 August.^[80][81] Her album "Dinner for One, World for Two" achieved Gold Status in Hong Kong based on the number of sales and she earned the title of "The Best Selling Female Bewcomer" in the year. This album garnered her several awards at the end of 2008, including "Gold Newcomer Awards" and "Most liked Female Newcomer". Her first plugged song was "World for Two". Her second plugged song "I'm actually unhappy" got a high click rating in YouTube. Due to its success, Star Entertainment released a second version of her album, "Dinner for One, World for Two Reloaded", which included more songs and more bonus material.^[82]

Her second album, My Love Story, was released on 12 November 2009 and has since been classified gold.^[83] The songs of "Thinking of you day and night",^[84] "One Day" and "Life and Death for Love" were all owe to her works on melody. Among these three songs, "Thinking of you day and night" was the first plugged song and was much more conspicuous. Chung won awards in different music platforms based on this song. "Fighting in the light and shadows" was the second plugged song. She has since collaborated with another Star Entertainment singer, Stephanie Cheng. "Ngoi Dak Hei (Ai De Qi)" is the product of their co-operation.^[85] This song reached the champion on TVB's JSG Solid Gold programme.

Recently, her new song "If You Want Me" has just released in January 2011. Chung was praised by CR2 DJ Vani Wong, Alton Yu and Wasabi for her outstanding performance. Apart from the above, she received much praises from three DJ who are in the CR2 "The Playtoy Mansion" program and she was also praised by Sammy Leung and Siu Yi in the CR2 "Good Morning King" program in February, for her "Jade Girl" image which is not only an image in the entertainment industry, but she also behaves in reality.

In 2011, her third album, My Private Selection, was released on 25 March. The album was qualitatively a new songs plus choiceness. It was not only recorded her first plugged song "If you want me", but it also recorded another four new recording songs "Luo Suo", "De Xian Zhao Ni", "I'll Be Waiting For You", "Ngoi Dak Hei (Ai De Qi) solo version" and her thirteen choiceness songs from Dinner for One, World for Two debut album and My Love Story.

Whilst filming Heart of Greed in 2006, rumours about Chung and her famous co-star, Raymond Lam, erupted saying that Raymond was "chasing" after rising fa-dan Linda. The rumour mill has continued to roll, with queries about whether they are really dating or have dated still arising until Lam had been muckraked in 2011.

Another rumours about Chung and her friend Philip Ng has continued to roll as some said they are dating from 2007. On the basis of Next Publishing, the photos proved they are truly dating for over four years up till now. Chung and Ng replied that they are friends and they would like to make it low key style continually. But, some rumours about TVB was putting pressure and separating her partner. That is why they cannot make known to public.

Chung is still The Youngest A-grade Actress (in TVB),^[86] and her salary per episode is over $10,000.^[87][88][89]
