The Teacher- Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche. Shambhala
"In relating with the teacher, your critical input and your surrendering work together at the same time. They're not working against each other. The more you get input from the teacher and the phenomenal world and the more you develop, at the same time the more you question. So there is some kind of dance taking place between the teacher and yourself. You are not particularly trying to switch off your questioning intelligence and switch on some sort of mindless devotion. Rather, the two - cynicism and devotion --are synchronized together. The subject we are going to discuss at this point on the sadhana itself is a basically vajrayana-oriented kind of topic. And it has a lot of implications at the same time, connected with the basic practice of hinayana and mahayana Buddhism as well. And generally the first point I would like to get across tonight is some sense of, or the notion of devotion, in some sense. Which the sadhana is based on. " Commemoration of the 25th Anniversary of the Parinirvana of the Vidyadhara, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. The Teacher from The Sadhana of Mahamudra Seminar, November 1975, Boulder, Colorado This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the Parinirvana (death) of the Vidyadhara, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, the founder of our community. His teaching from his seminar on The Sadhana of Mahamudra presents the principle of the teacher in the teacher's own words. It reminds us of the brilliance and profundity that are the foundation of the Shambhala lineage ...

Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche ☸ In honor and memory ☸
Short Biography of the Tenga Rinpoche The story of Tenga Tulkus starts at the time of the 7th Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche. One of his students was the highly realised Lama Samten. He was also known as "Gönkhen Samten", signifying that he was a specialist of protector practices (Gönpo = Protector). He spent most of his life in retreat, meditating on his yidam Karma Pakshi and on the main Kagyu protectors. He practised mostly Dorje Bernagchen and Shing Kyong. The power of his blessing was such that he could cure all kinds of sickness instantly and he was widely known throughout the region. Many people came to receive his blessing At the time of the 8th Sangye Nyenpa, Tenzin Drupchok, Lama Samten had grown old and sometimes displayed physical unease and sickness. However, one day he seemed to be very well and happy. On that day, he told Sangye Nyenpa that he felt very happy because soon he would be going away to a beautiful land, a wonderful, peaceful garden. Among other things, he gave his thigh bone trumpet to Sangye Nyenpa and asked him to take good care of it until he came back. Soon afterwards he passed away. www.benchen.org

Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche - Using panic attacks for meditation
A clip from "Joy of Living: A Public Talk" DVD, Recorded in August, 2007. In this talk based on his groundbreaking first book, The Joy of Living (Harmony Books), world-renowned Buddhist teacher Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche invites us to join him in unlocking the secrets behind the practices of meditation. Working with neuroscientists at the Waisman Laboratory for Brain Imaging and Behavior, he provides clear insights into modern research indicating that systematic training in meditation can enhance activity in areas of the brain associated with happiness and compassion. He has also worked with physicists across the country to develop a fresh, scientifically based interpretation of the Buddhist understanding of the nature of reality. Mingyur Rinpoche weaves together the principles of Tibetan Buddhism, neuroscience, and quantum physics in a way that will forever change the way we understand the human experience. The passing of Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche
The visual presence which liberates by sight. Video by Lama Karma Sherab Wangchuk, source: www.benchen.org Tenga Rinpoche: Prayer for quick return. Namo Guru. Glorious lama who has shown me such unequalled kindness, mighty Vajradhara, embodying the awareness of all buddhas; now that you have merged for a while with the dharmadhātu, my humble heart is pained from longing in your absence. Burdened by failing eyesight and a body with amputated feet and fingers, the tireless father continuously acted for the benefit of others; I remember the kindness of the noble lama. Remembering, I dwell on the vision of your joyous face; remembering, my ears fill with your gentle speech; remembering, I embrace in my heart your loving compassion; remembering, remembering, my noble one, I remember you. May your emanated youthful Sun quickly rise, your enlightenment not fading away, but breaking through the gaps in the eastern mountains, a round golden orb of the three trainings, spreading without limit beneficial and joyous waves of light in all directions. As the gloomy darkness of ignorance is never-ending and this ocean of saṃsāra not exhausted, putting my trust in you for all time for refuge and hopes, through life after life, I bow to your lotus feet. Given that the Lord of Refuge of unequalled kindness, the great Tenga Rinpoche, has left for the peace of dharmadhātu, in order that he may again train those fortunate to be his students, this prayer that he return in accordance with his ...
