Stan Kasten (born February 1, 1952 in Lakewood Township, New Jersey) is the former President of the Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals and the current president, and part-owner, of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Kasten was a longtime fixture in Atlanta professional sports primarily due to his association with Ted Turner. It started in 1979, when at age 27, he became the youngest General Manager in the National Basketball Association for the Atlanta Hawks. He held this position until 1990. He became the Hawks' President in 1986. During his lengthy tenure in the Hawks front office, Kasten became the first (and so far only) NBA executive to win back-to-back NBA Executive of the Year awards, accomplishing this feat in 1986 & 1987. He was also able to build Atlanta into a perennial playoff contender. Led by the Hall of Fame play of superstar Dominique Wilkins, Kasten's Hawks achieved four straight 50-win seasons ( 1986 to 1989), and set franchise records in attendance. In the 1990s, he guided Atlanta to a stretch of 7 consecutive playoff appearances, including three 50-win seasons during the decade.

Carol Ross Joynt is an Emmy-winning network news producer, interviewer and writer in Washington, DC. She is the host of "The Q&A Café, a talk show she created in October 2001 in response to the September 11 terrorist attacks. At the outset the program focused on interviews related to 9/11. Washington D.C. Over the years it evolved to feature interviews with notables and newsmakers from all walks of life. Carol called upon her extensive background producing talk shows for Charlie Rose, David Brinkley, Ted Koppel, Larry King, and the fact that she had inherited the restaurant, Nathans, to create the Q&A Café.

Nathans was a popular Georgetown watering hole that was founded by Carol's husband, John Howard Joynt III, in 1969. When he died suddenly in 1997 she inherited the bar and that's where she set up "The Q&A Cafe." It took place weekly in Nathans back dining room. A lease dispute and eviction forced Nathans closure in 2009. Carol moved "The Q&A Cafe" to the nearby Ritz Carlton Georgetown hotel. Her struggle owning Nathans, which included a surprise multi-million dollar criminal tax fraud case, bankruptcy, myriad business calamities, while also trying to hold onto her television career and raise her son, are the focus of her memoir, "Innocent Spouse," which is scheduled to be released by Crown Publishers in 2011.

Robert Edward "Ted" Turner III (born November 19, 1938) is an American media mogul and philanthropist. As a businessman, he is known as founder of the cable news network CNN, the first dedicated 24-hour cable news channel. In addition, he founded WTBS, which pioneered the superstation concept in cable television. As a philanthropist, he is known for his $1 billion gift to support UN causes, which created the United Nations Foundation, a public charity to broaden support for the UN. Turner serves as Chairman of the United Nations Foundation board of directors.

Turner's media empire began with his father's billboard business, which he took over at 24 after his father's suicide. The business, Turner Outdoor Advertising, was worth $1 million when Turner took it over in 1963. Purchase of an Atlanta UHF station in 1970 began the Turner Broadcasting System. Cable News Network revolutionized news media, covering the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster in 1986 and the Persian Gulf War in 1991. Turner turned the Atlanta Braves baseball team into a nationally popular franchise and launched the charitable Goodwill Games. He helped reinvent interest in professional wrestling when he owned one of the most popular wrestling companies of the middle to late 1990s known as World Championship Wrestling (WCW). The Monday night show that it put on was the highest rated on cable and helped boost Turner's channels of TNT and WTBS.
