WORLD TRAVEL.- SOUTHEAST ASIA
Southeast Asia (or Southeastern Asia) is a subregion of Asia, consisting of the countries that are geographically south of China, east of India and north of Australia. The region lies on the intersection of geological plates, with heavy seismic and volcanic activity. Southeast Asia consists of two geographic regions: the Asian mainland and island arcs and archipelagoes to the east and southeast. The mainland section consists of Burma, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam and Peninsular Malaysia while the maritime section consists of Brunei, East Malaysia, East Timor, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Singapore.[1] Papua New Guinea is an observer in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, as is East Timor. Geographically speaking southern China, Taiwan,[2] Hong Kong[3][4] and Macau[5] are sometimes grouped in the Southeast Asia subregion, although politically they are rarely grouped as such. The same is true for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands of India.[6][7] Austronesian peoples predominate in this region. The major religions are Islam and Buddhism, followed by Christianity. However, a wide variety of religions are found throughout the region, including many Hindu and animist-influenced practices

Together we can end child marriage: building momentum in South Asia
Every year an estimated 10 million girls are married before they turn 18. Nearly half of them live in South Asia. In February 2012, Girls Not Brides brought together over 70 organisations from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, to discuss how to create change across the region. All were united in the belief that together we can end child marriage and give every girl the opportunity to fulfil her potential. www.GirlsNotBrides.org Also featured in this video: The Jagriti campaign www.facebook.com/endchildmarriage

Islamist Movements in South Asia
Journalist Ahmed Rashid and professor Ebrahim Moosa discuss the often overlooked social and political context of Islamist movements in South Asia. Rashid examines recent political developments in the Middle East, while Moosa explores the South Asian madrasa (Islamic seminaries) and considers how this educational institution shapes social and political life in the region. Over the last decade, public discussion of Islam and Islamist movements has been influenced by the vocabulary of US counter-terrorism and foreign policy strategies. This vocabulary ignores the idiosyncrasies of local forms of government, political counter-narratives, and religious contexts, and undermines efforts to write about and analyze political actors throughout the Islamic world. Ahmed Rashid is a Pakistani journalist based in Lahore. He writes for the Daily Telegraph, London, the International Herald Tribune, the New York Review of Books, BBC Online, The Wall Street Journal, The Nation, and academic and foreign affairs journals. Ebrahim Moosa is Associate Professor of Islamic Studies in the Department of Religion at Duke University. He was named a Carnegie Scholar in 2005 to pursue research on the madrasas. The World Beyond the Headlines is a project of the Center for International Studies, which brings scholars, journalists, and world leaders to the University to discuss issues of current global importance. There are a lot of people of all races on youtube complaining about the lifestyle they live due to their parents. Each culture has their own different parenting techniques. South Asia and the changing climate
Although South Asia has low GHG emissions, climate change has already deeply affected the economic growth and development of the region. The IPCC 4th Assessment Report states that about 70% of South Asians live in rural area and account for about 75% of the poor, who are the most impacted by climate change. This video is shot on ipod and edited on Premier Pro. Only 5 to 10 percentage of footage and pictures used are of DSLR camera. By Rajneesh Bhandari.

Earth
Time lapse sequences of photographs taken by the crew of expeditions
28 & 29 onboard the International Space Station from August to October,
2011, who to my knowledge shot these pictures at an altitude of around 350 km.
All credit goes to them.
HD, refurbished, smoothed, retimed, denoised, deflickered, cut, etc.
All in all I tried to keep the looks of the material as original as possible,
avoided adjusting the colors and the like, since in my opinion the original
footage itself already has an almost surreal and aestethical visual nature.

Episode 2 Info:
0:01 - Pai
Pai is actually in Northern Thailand so we got there later than the edit would suggest. However, I wanted to put it into the beginning as it's a fun contrast to the quiet shots afterwards. It is somewhat of a Hippie-Mecca with lots of alternative tourists but also has this festival which seemed very authentic to us.
1:34 - Bangkok (Part 1)
We visited Bangkok twice on our trip. So there's a lot more to come in Episode 5. This time, it's only a handful of impressions from the rainy days.
2:35 - North Thailand (general)
After Bangkok is was raining a week straight. We were going into the mountains in the north-western Region driving on mud roads and fighting the water inside the car as it was leaking through on many spots. Camping is no fun, when it's pouring.
2:48 - Doi Inthanon
Doi Inthanon is the highest mountain in Thailand with 2565 Meters. But the peak is still covered with high trees so you don't really get any spectacular view. However, the fog within the forest up there made a great scenery.
3:00 - Refugee Kids
We accidentally drove in this area where there was a refugee camp streching over many kilometers at the Myanmar boarder. They wouldn't let us in but we could see many kids playing outside on the streets. Later we found a Myanmar refugee which told us alot about the region and why there are all there.
3:48 - Chiang Mai
This was one of the most fun cities we visited with tons of young native people studying there so we had some great nights going out. Luckily, we didn't film any of it.
After Chiang Mai we drove straight to Chiang Khong all the way North East at the Laos boarder to cross it the next morning.

Take On South Asia
We've put together a short teaser of the military side of Take On Helicopters' career mode. Although we're primarily a civil-based chopper game, we also feature military variants of each of our three classes of helicopter, with missions to support them! Here, you can listen to Joe Larkin recount his memories from his tour of duty in South Asia, where he served with the US Army, in our short slide-show. Built upon over 10 years of experience, Take On Helicopters immerses players within beautifully rich landscapes and an authentic helicopter experience. The complete helicopter experience is scheduled for release exclusively for PC in October 2011.
