awesome alps
This was filmed in Rhône-Alpes (France) & in Etat du Valais (Switzerland) from June to July 2011.
Producing it was in some way „extreme photography“: Shooting for up to 10 hours, winds up to 6bft., elevation between 500m and 3.800m above see level, temperature between -6°C and +35°C. Just to capture these special moments. For example at 1:12 you can see - in the middle of the night - dozens of mountaineers on their way to Mt. Blanc summit, all striving to stand on top of the roof of Europe at sunrise. More mountaineers at 1:20, 1:30 and 1:38 - enjoy it fullscreen.
Thanks for watching.

Swimming Women's 800m Freestyle Final Full Replay - London 2012 Olympic Games
Swimming Women's 800m Freestyle Final Full Replay from the Aquatics Centre at the London 2012 Olympic Games. -- 3 August 2012 Swimming has featured on the programme of all editions of the Games since 1896. The very first Olympic events were freestyle (crawl) or breaststroke. Backstroke was added in 1904. In the 1940s, breaststrokers discovered that they could go faster by bringing both arms forward over their heads. This practice was immediately forbidden in breaststroke, but gave birth to butterfly, whose first official appearance was at the 1956 Games in Melbourne. This style is now one of the four strokes used in competition. Women's swimming became Olympic in 1912 at the Stockholm Games. Since then, it has been part of every edition of the Games. The men's and women's programmes are almost identical, as they contain the same number of events, with only one difference: the freestyle distance is 800 metres for women and 1500 metres for men.
