Mac Meda Destruction Company - La Jolla - Windansea Sea Lane
Mac Meda Destruction Company - La Jolla - Windansea Sea Lane
In memory of Jack Macpherson. In the 1960s Macpherson (and crazy Rakestraw) brought together their jack off La Jolla drinking friends, acquaintances, and hangers-on into an organization or club they later dubbed, "Mac Meda Destruction Company." The group was featured in Tom Wolfe's 1968 book The Pump House Gang. Mac Meda spilled into the next decade and become an icon for what was then a unknown La Jolla, CA within WindanSea and Sea Lane Beach crowd - whose only commonness (regardless if you were a jock, surfer, nerd, etc) was beach drinking of keg beer and other alcoholic beverages. What is sad about this video, just about every frame, someone is not here today. More info and history of Mac Meda can be found at, en.wikipedia.org

Barcelona - Ronnie Lane
Barcelona - Ronnie Lane
Barcelona (Lane/Clapton) So we said goodbye to Barcelona, well with a bunch of brandfire new strings in her hand. Oh we all know, and we all knew the crew know. Oh that the captain's gin bottle rarely left his hand. Message broke on the(?) wireless. Was a storm force warning numbered gail 9. When the crew brought the hymn books and stood around us and we sang our hearts all night Auld Lang Syne. Oh there where many of us here when we started. But the numbers they have dwindled one by one. Oh now some have left and some been carried from here but I guess we're here until this job is done. So we said goodby to Barcelona. Oh with the Flotsam and Jetsam floating way behind. Yeah and seagulls with their fish follow an jumping, and you can almost hear the singing of those sirens. So we said goodbye to friends with friendship, with a hug'n'kiss and misty in their eyes. And now I'm here back home with my kin'n'kingship, I say a prayer for those at sea and I know why.

Driving Wild One Lane Kahekili "Highway" 340 on Maui Hawaii
Driving Wild One Lane Kahekili "Highway" 340 on Maui Hawaii
Drove around the West Maui Mountains from Kihei to Kahului. Turns from beautiful beach level views to awesome sea cliffs. After Mokolea Point the road turns into one lane and almost 360 turns. You'll be advised that you are driving it at your own risk. The road itself was in great shape. A local told me to just take it slow and honk before the corners. I would highly recommend having some one with you to spot ahead while you're driving, especially if it's your first time. M was my eagle eyed navigator and camerawoman, and I salute her. Opaka paka!!! :) Near the middle of the video we drive through the village of Kahakuloa. By the end of the one lane section my hands were sore from gripping the steering wheel. I saw a pile a wrecked vehicles which I presume were those that didn't make it to the end. I have video from my helicopter flight of the road and cliffs from above that is also posted. www.hawaiihighways.com

St Pauls School- Down Memory Lane. part -1
St Pauls School is Located 7500 feet above sea level and acclaimed as the highest public school in the world, the origin and early history of this well known institution, the second oldest in Bengal, dates as far back as the year 1823 when John William Ricketts, a prominent Anglo-Indian leader, conceived the idea of founding a public school to meet the needs of the growing Anglo-Indian population in Calcutta. At a meeting with friends, parents and guardians of the community, "The Parental Academic Institution", as it was to be known, was established. It began functioning on the 1st of May 1823 in a small two-storeyed building at 11 Park Street. It was sometime during the end of 1846 that the Bishop Wilson changed its name to St. Paul's, having brought it more closely into connection with St. Pauls Cathedral. By 1863, St. Paul's was in difficulties and the Bishop Cotton, after investigating the matter gave his consent to transfer the school to Jalapahar in Darjeeling. He also decided that the school should bear the same name as it did in Calcutta. Sometime during 1864, on the large Jalapahar estate, St. Paul's reopened its doors with thirty-one boarders and a few day scholars and the Rev. JC Nesfield as Rector. The first building that constituted the school unfortunately does not exist today. It has yielded place to a playing field. It is said that its foundation is still vaguely visible after a heavy shower. A number of old boys served in the Great War in various ...

M Ship Co & US Navy - M80 Stiletto Stealth Ship [480p]
The M80 Stiletto uses new technology to reduce construction and life-cycle costs, while significantly improving performance and capabilities. This vessel is a prototype naval ship manufactured by M Ship Company as an operational experiment for the Department of Defense. Although it is only 88 feet long, its beam is an unusually wide 40 feet and - because of its hull technology and composite structure - performs like a much larger craft. Significant Advantages Over Conventional Displacement or Planing Craft "Wide & Shallow" M-hull® platforms offer significant advantages over "Long & Skinny" conventional displacement or planing crafts based on the US military's new littoral missions. The revolutionary M-hull® technology provides open interior for modular multi mission capability, shallow draft with large payload and deck spaces, not to mention high speeds with smooth ride quality. M Ship Co. has designed a family of such vessels to qualify for the full range of missions contemplated for operations in the littoral and coastal zone. They may be purchased by government and military agencies under a no-bid, sole-source acquisition contract. The Stiletto was designed, developed and delivered in little over a year to demonstrate [1] a different hull form and its scalability, [2] composite construction, and [3] a modern design/build methodology.
