Mozart - Requiem
Requiem Mass in D Minor Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's final Masterpiece was commissioned in mid 1791 by the Austrian count Franz Von Walsegg, as a Tribute to the passing of his young wife Anna. Mozart began his final composition in Prague, suffering from an undetermined illness, which would eventually take his life and rob him of the chance to see the completion of his Magnum Opus. After Mozart's death, his understudy 'Franz Xaver Süssmayr', at the behest of Mozart's wife, completed the missing parts of the Requiem. Requiem Mass was first performed on January 2, 1793, in a private concert for the benefit of Mozart's grieving wife, Constanze Mozart. The Following are the lyrics, translated from their Original Latin Grant them eternal rest, Lord, and let perpetual light shine on them. You are praised, God, in Zion, and homage will be paid to You in Jerusalem. Hear my prayer, to You all flesh will come. Grant them eternal rest, Lord, and let perpetual light shine on them. Lord, have mercy on us. Christ, have mercy on us. Lord, have mercy on us. Day of wrath, day of anger will dissolve the world in ashes, as foretold by David and the Sibyl. Great trembling there will be when the Judge descends from heaven to examine all things closely. The trumpet will send its wondrous sound throughout earth's sepulchres and gather all before the throne. Death and nature will be astounded, when all creation rises again, to answer the judgment. A book will be brought forth, in which all will be ...

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Requiem in D minor K.626
Joannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Requiem, K.626. Herbert von Karajan , Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Agnes Baltsa, alt/contralto. Anna Tomowa-Sintow, soprano. Werner Krenn, tenor. José van Dam, bass. Wiener Singverein. Rudolf Scholz, organ. Between 1961 and 1986, Herbert von Karajan made three recordings of the Mozart Requiem for Deutsche Grammophon, with little change in his conception of the piece over the years. This recording, from 1975, is, on balance, the best of them. The approach is Romantic, broad, and sustained, marked by a thoroughly homogenized blend of chorus and orchestra, a remarkable richness of tone, striking power, and an almost marmoreal polish. Karajan viewed the Requiem as idealized church music rather than a confessional statement awash in operatic expressiveness. In this account, the orchestra is paramount, followed in importance by the chorus, then the soloists. Not surprisingly, the singing of the solo quartet sounds somewhat reined-in, especially considering these singers' pedigrees. By contrast, the Vienna Singverein, always Karajan's favorite chorus, sings with a huge dynamic range and great intensity, though with an emotional detachment nonetheless. Perfection, if not passion or poignancy, is the watchword. The Berlin orchestra plays majestically, and the sound is pleasingly vivid. Track listing 1. I. INTROITUS Requiem 2. II. KYRIE III. SEQUENZ 3. No. 1 Dies Irae 4. No. 2 Tuba Mirum 5. No. 3 Rex ...

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart BBC Documentary Part 1/18
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (German: [ˈvɔlfɡaŋ amaˈdeus ˈmoːtsaʁt], English see fn.),[1] baptismal name Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart[2] (27 January 1756 -- 5 December 1791), was a prolific and influential composer of the Classical era. He composed over 600 works, many acknowledged as pinnacles of symphonic, concertante, chamber, piano, operatic, and choral music. He is among the most enduringly popular of classical composers. Mozart showed prodigious ability from his earliest childhood in Salzburg. Already competent on keyboard and violin, he composed from the age of five and performed before European royalty. At 17, he was engaged as a court musician in Salzburg, but grew restless and travelled in search of a better position, always composing abundantly. While visiting Vienna in 1781, he was dismissed from his Salzburg position. He chose to stay in the capital, where he achieved fame but little financial security. During his final years in Vienna, he composed many of his best-known symphonies, concertos, and operas, and portions of the Requiem, which was largely unfinished at the time of Mozart's death. The circumstances of his early death have been much mythologized. He was survived by his wife Constanze and two sons. Mozart learned voraciously from others, and developed a brilliance and maturity of style that encompassed the light and graceful along with the dark and passionate. His influence on subsequent Western art music is profound. Beethoven ...

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Serenade in G major, K. 525 : " A Little Night Music " Allegro Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart 1756-1791. Mozart was buried in a pauper's grave with no witness nor cross to mark the place. He was neglected during his life and neglected at his end. He devoted his life to music. Sorry for bad transitions! Mozart - Piano Sonata No. 11 in A major, K. 331 - I. Andante grazioso
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Piano Sonata No. 11 in A major, K 331 is a sonata in three movements: - Andante grazioso (a theme with six variations) - Menuetto (a minuet and trio) - Alla Turca (Allegretto in A minor and major) It is uncertain where and when Mozart composed the sonata; however, Vienna or Salzburg around 1783 is currently thought to be most likely. The last movement, Alla Turca, popularly known as the Turkish Rondo or Turkish March, is often heard on its own and is one of Mozart's best-known piano pieces. Pianist: Jenő Jandó

Lacrimosa (Requiem) - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (lyrics)
The Requiem Mass in D minor by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was composed in Vienna in 1791, during the last year of the composer's life. 'Lacrimosa' is part of that Requiem Mass. Its melody was inspired by some of the deepest feelings in mankind's history and also delineates one of it's biggest fears: Death. Lacrimosa dies illa Qua resurget ex favilla Judicandus homo reus. Huic ergo parce, Deus: Pie Jesu Domine, Dona eis requiem. Amen. Tearful that day, on which will rise from ashes guilty man for judgment. So have mercy, Oh God, on this person. Compassionate Lord Jesus, grant them rest. Amen.
