Tatarstan We Can
The Republic of Tatarstan is one of the most economically developed regions of Russia. It is located 800 km east from Moscow at the intersection of the major trade routes connecting regions of Russia, China, the CIS countries and Europe. The capital is the city of Kazan, which is officially named the third capital of the Russian Federation. The republic possesses a powerful scientific and intellectual potential. There are 86 educational institutions of which 30 higher educational establishments in Tatarstan. It is one of the leading regions in machinery, production of chemicals and petrochemicals, consumer goods and food processing. A special executive governmental body Tatarstan Investment Development Agency (TIDA) was created to support all investors cooperating with them at every stage of a project implementation. Another TIDA's function is to promote PPP in order to build more prosperous environment for private sector development. Thereby the Agency is a main bridge between Tatarstan officials and investors.

www.euronews.com On the banks of the Volga river, in the very heart of Russia, the republic of Tatarstan has reunited two religions in its history. Throughout the ages, explorations and wars along the Volga (Russia's largest river) have shaped the destinies of this truly diverse place; as Yevgeniya Novikova, a Tatarstan tourism expert explains: "The Volga helped us to conquer new lands in the Middle Ages and its importance as a connecting thread between the centuries and civilisations, between the people, cultures and religions of those who live on its banks, is invaluable." Although the river remains a major transport artery its waters still pose a risk. Only last year, a river boat cruise sank on the Volga, killing 122 people. "They check all the vessels - their technical condition, the engines, hulls, fire safety of any and all ships that sail on the Volga." said Yevgeniya Novikova.
