West Lulworth is a village and civil parish in the Purbeck district of Dorset, England, situated on the English Channel beside Lulworth Cove. In the 2011 census the civil parish—which includes most of Lulworth Camp army base—had 291 households and a population of 714. The village is a gateway to the Jurassic Coast world heritage site and is a popular tourist destination, especially for day trips.
In 1086 in the Domesday Book West Lulworth was not distinguished from neighbouring East Lulworth; only one settlement was recorded, called Luluorde, Luluworde or Loloworde. It had 38.3 households, was in Winfrith Hundred and the lord and tenant-in-chief was Aiulf the chamberlain. Despite this, East and West Lulworth may have been separate settlements at this time, and definitely were so by the end of the 13th century.
The Castle Inn is one of the oldest pubs in Dorset, dating from the 16th century. Holy Trinity parish church was originally in the village centre, but was demolished in 1869 although the old churchyard still remains. The present church, built of local stone taken from the cove, replaced it. It was largely financed by the then incumbent Rev. William Gildea, brother of philanthropist Sir James Gidea.
Coordinates: 50°37′15″N 2°14′59″W / 50.6208°N 2.2498°W / 50.6208; -2.2498 Lulworth is the popular name for an area on the coast of Dorset, South West England notable for its castle and cove. However, there is no actual place or feature called simply "Lulworth", the villages are East and West Lulworth and the coastal feature is Lulworth Cove.

Durdle Door (sometimes written Durdle Dor) is a natural limestone arch on the Jurassic Coast near Lulworth in Dorset, England. It is privately owned by the Welds, a family who owns 12,000 acres (50 km2) in Dorset in the name of the Lulworth Estate. It is open to the public. The name Durdle is derived from the Old English 'thirl' meaning bore or drill.
The form of the coastline around Durdle Door is controlled by its geology—both by the contrasting hardnesses of the rocks, and by the local patterns of faults and folds. The arch has formed on a concordant coastline where bands of rock run parallel to the shoreline. The rock strata are almost vertical, and the bands of rock are quite narrow. Originally a band of resistant Portland limestone ran along the shore, the same band that appears one mile along the coast forming the narrow entrance to Lulworth Cove. Behind this is a 120-metre (390 ft) band of weaker, easily eroded rocks, and behind this is a stronger and much thicker band of chalk, which forms the Purbeck Hills. These steeply dipping rocks are part of the geological structure known as the Lulworth crumple, itself part of a broader monocline (a kinked type of geological fold) produced by the building of the Alps during the mid-Cenozoic.
Lulworth Cove is a cove near the village of West Lulworth, on the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site in Dorset, southern England. The cove is one of the world's finest examples of such a landform, and is a tourist location with approximately 500,000 visitors a year, of whom about 30% visit in July and August. It is close to the rock arch of Durdle Door and other Jurassic Coast sites.
Lulworth Cove featured on the TV programme Seven Natural Wonders as one of the wonders of southern England.
The cove has formed because there are bands of rock of alternating resistance running parallel to the shore (a concordant coastline). The seaward side the clays and sands have been eroded away. A narrow (less than 30 metre) band of Portland limestone rocks forms the shoreline. Behind this is a narrow (less than 50 metre) band of slightly less resistant Purbeck limestone. Behind this are 300–350 metres of much less resistant clays and greensands (Wealden clays, Gault and Upper Greensand).
West is a noun, adjective, or adverb indicating direction or geography. West is one of the four cardinal directions or compass points. It is the opposite of east and is perpendicular to north and south.
The word "West" is a Germanic word passed into some Romance languages (ouest in French, oest in Catalan, ovest in Italian, oeste in Spanish and Portuguese). As is apparent in the Gothic term vasi (Visigoths), it stems from the same Indo-European root that gave the Sanskrit vas-ati (night) and vesper (evening) in Latin.
To go west using a compass for navigation, one needs to set a bearing or azimuth of 270°.
West is the direction opposite that of the Earth's rotation on its axis, and is therefore the general direction towards which the Sun appears to constantly progress and eventually set.
Moving continuously west is following a circle of latitude.
The phrase "the West" is often spoken in reference to the Western world, which includes Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the European Union, and the United States of America.

Our video is a guided walk in Dorset along part of the Juassic Coast. We start from West Lulworth and walk down to the beautiful Lulworth Cove from there we visit the Heritage Centre then ascend the steep climb of Hambury Tout. We continue on the South West Coast Path to Man of War Bay, Durdle Door a limestone arch, Swyre Head, Bat's Head and West Bottom where we turn inland and follow the bridleway along the top to Newlands Farm and return to West Lulworth via the road. This is a hard walk with steep inclines and declines approx 7miles allow 3hours 15 minutes.

We started our journey from London. Our Destination was Lake District, Cumbria. It is a non metropolitan county in North West England. We reached there by evening and stayed at YHA Ambleside. The rent was 40 £ for 4 person. The room was very nice. Next morning we woke up early and visited almost all the eye catching places in Lake District. Trust me it's more beautiful through naked eyes than iphone 6s. After sunset we headed for Blackpool. Blackpool is a seaside resort on the Irish Sea coast of England. Decorated with a lot of entertainment buildings and amusement parks. Must be more happening and beautiful in mid summer. We stayed there for one night. Our hotel was Beachside Hotel. Well it was not that comfortable but the price was cheap (37£ for 4 person). After having lunch we lef...

Sean Conway sets off on a world first – a supersized triathlon around the entire coast of mainland Britain. It starts with the cycle – 3200 miles from Lulworth Cove in Dorset, around the cliffs of South West England, up the very edge of Wales, over the top of Scotland and down the East coast of England to Scarborough in North Yorkshire. Within the first couple of miles he faces a problem – a lack of gears on the bamboo bike he’s christened Matilda, forces his chain off and makes climbing the coastal hills exhausting. He also realises Matilda’s frame is warped; putting dangerous pressure on his hips and knees. Being self-supported Sean must buy all his own food. He stops at a supermarket en route to stock up on high-energy snacks. He burns through 5000 calories a day on his bike....
