Canterbury's Misdiagnosis
September 13, 2012 The Archbishop of Canterbury recently gave an interview where he was quoted as saying: "I think it might have helped a lot if I'd gone sooner to the United States when things began to get difficult about the ordination of gay bishops, and engaged more directly with the American House of Bishops," he said. He went on: "I think the problem though, is that the demands of the communion, the administrative demands of the communion have grown, and are growing. "I suspect it will be necessary, in the next 10 to 15 years, to think about how that load is spread; to think whether in addition to the Archbishop of Canterbury there needs to be some more presidential figure who can travel more readily." In this week's Anglican Perspective, Canon Phil Ashey of the American Anglican Council looks at the Archbishop's diagnosis of the problems in the Anglican Communion and what the Bible says about how doctrinal issues should be dealt with.

14 Years of Lambeth 1.10: Anglican Perspective
As Canon Ashey recently noted, this week marks 14 years since the passage of Lambeth Resolution 1.10 which is the Communion's seteled teaching on human sexuality. Since then, the resolution has been ignored, abused and minupulated so much that nothing has been done about those who continue to violate Lambeth 1.10 and the Communion's moratoria. This week, Canon Ashey points out some of the more obvious violatations of 1.10 as well as brings up a few new examples of The Episcopal Church and Anglican Church of Canada's lack of submission to Scripture or Anglican Communion teaching.

Theologians in Conversation: The Role of The Archbishop of Canterbury
Two experts on Anglican theology and history, Dr Frances Knight and Dr Andrea Russell, discuss the position held by the Archbishop of Canterbury within the Church of England and the Anglican Communion. They examine how his role is different to that of other Christian leaders (eg the Pope) and the expectation Anglicans have of the role, and the place they assign it in their view of Christian believing.

Anglican Communion Stories: Haiti; On the Cutting Edge
The sign read: "Amour, Bonté, Patience"—love, kindness, patience. I noticed it on the front of a tap tap, the brightly-colored buses, or trucks, or vans, which all serve as public transportation in Haiti. For Haitians, it seems less important to advertise your name, and more important to express your philosophy.
