Somewhere else a small group of 18 year olds get into a rabid fight after a rock concert - the rich in the city are getting richer by the day - their crimes are getting more random & more uncontrollable - the cops in the city are not able to deal with it - they cannot relate to the rich youth - they cannot understand their problems & they cannot help them in any possible way. Not only can they not understand or relate to them but they are also unable to investigate these crimes thanks to the clout and connections the rich criminals have. And this leads to immense frustration in the police force. Senior Inspector Damodar Deshmukh is one such frustrated, honest cop who is unable to deal with the aggravation of having unsolved cases which remain unsolved because of the various obstructions that the rich are able to put in the path of his investigations. But what is one lone cop to do? Specially when he has no access to the worlds of the rich -- in fact he has no access into their minds either. As he puts it, he can still understand crimes which have a motivation of hunger, greed, need -- crimes committed daily by the poor, the dispossessed, the homeless. Ansh's school organizes a sports day for parents. Aarti decides to participate in the three-legged race along with Ansh. Aarti has to compete with the fathers of other children. When Ansh's teacher refuses to enroll Aarti's name at first, she convinces him. She tells him that she would participate as Ansh does not have a father. When Aarti enrolls her name, the other competitors pass comments on her. They state that a woman was challenging them. They also underestimate Aarti and state that she can never complete the race. Aarti overhears their conversation and gets furious. Meanwhile, Mansi arrives and overhears the conversation. She encourages Aarti to participate in the race. During the event, Aarti and Ansh start off well but in the middle of the race, Aarti trips over her dupatta and falls down. Meanwhile, the other competitors move ahead. Aarti somehow manages to get up and complete the race but does not win. Ansh blames Aarti for losing the race. Aarti apologizes to him but an upset Ansha walks away. The other competitors, who had passed comments on Aarti, taunt her again saying that she should not compete with men in the future. Pratik calls up their assistant, Shukla and asks him to make special arrangements for his and Yash's wedding. Pratik's aunt overhears his conversation and gets furious.
