Talking Heads Stop making sense [1984][HD]
Stop Making Sense (1984) is a concert movie featuring Talking Heads live on stage. Directed by Jonathan Demme, it was shot over the course of three nights at Hollywood's Pantages Theater in December 1983, as the group was touring to promote their new album Speaking in Tongues. The movie is notable for being the first made entirely using digital audio techniques. The band raised the budget of $1.2 million themselves. The title comes from the lyrics of the song "Girlfriend is Better": "As we get older and stop making sense...". The film has been hailed by Leonard Maltin as "one of the greatest rock movies ever made. Setlist: "Psycho Killer" "Heaven" "Thank You for Sending Me an Angel" "Found a Job" "Slippery People" "Burning Down the House" "Life During Wartime" "Making Flippy Floppy" "Swamp" "What a Day That Was" "This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody)" "Once in a Lifetime" "Genius of Love" "Girlfriend Is Better" "Take Me to the River" "Crosseyed and Painless"

THREADS (Nuclear War)
Threads was aired on 1984, one Sunday night at 9pm to an unsuspecting UK TV audience, it single handedly put the nation off the nuclear war effort and was then quitely removed from the archives until 2002. Threads redefines the word grim and is hard to imagine what sort of impact this would have had on its viewers given its from an era in TV when there was only 4 channels and a Mary Whitehouse mentality towards censorship. On the plus side it shows that the BBC were once brave and did care about quality programming that dealt with factual real life issues, you know stuff people really needed know. The full length version was posted 4 years ago on Google Video, as that website is being closed I decided to upload the full film to YouTube. Wiki; Threads is a British television drama produced by the BBC in 1984. Written by Barry Hines and directed by Mick Jackson, it is a documentary-style account of a nuclear war and its effects on the city of Sheffield in northern England. Filmed in late 1983 and early 1984, the primary plot centres on two families: the Kemps and the Becketts — as an international crisis between the United States and the Soviet Union erupts and escalates. As the United Kingdom prepares for war, the members of each family deal with their own personal crises. Meanwhile, a secondary plot centered upon Clive J. Sutton, the Chief Executive of Sheffield City Council serves to illustrate for the viewer the United Kingdom government's then-current continuity of ...

THE HEIGHT OF GOTH: 1984: A Night at the Xclusiv Nightclub: Batley, West Yorkshire UK
A blast from the past. Please note: this film has been rescued from an old mildewed-and-damaged VHS cassette tape so the quality in the first few minutes is pretty poor, but it settles down fine just in time for the action inside the club itself The original video was commissioned by the couple who ran the club (Annie and Pete Swallow) and was distributed amongst family, friends and people who frequented it. I can't remember if there was a charge for it at the time [thanks to the commenter who told us it was £2], probably was. This is the complete full length video as originally presented EDIT: Big thank you to everyone who has been helping date it - we're confident now it is 1984, and most likely September/October time. I know it's a massive long shot but if anyone knows the actual date that would be brilliant, for posterity and all that And yes, I do have a personal reason for putting this online, it's because I'm in it :-) Enjoy

Ollie And Jerry - There's No Stopping Us
1984) The music video features footage from the movie Breakin' as well as numerous street break dancing performances. Jean-Claude Van Damme, who was an extra in the film, can be seen dancing in the background at one point. _______________________________ Drummer Ollie E. Brown and bassist Jerry Knight were first-call recording session musicians. The native Detroiters formed the rhythm nucleus of fellow Detroiter Ray Parker Jr.'s band Raydio. Knight sang lead vocals on Raydio's gold Top Five R&B;/Top Eight pop smash "Jack and Jill." As an A&M; recording artist,Knight forged an intriguing rock/R&B;/funk mix with producer David Kershenbaum on the Top 17 R&B; hit "Overnight Sensation" from the LP Jerry Knight and on Super Rare Disco, Vol. 2. Brown produced sides for Klique, Patti Austin, Latoya Jackson, and the Rolling Stones. Polydor Records exec Russ Regan asked Brown to contribute songs to the soundtrack of the breakdancing-themed movie Breakin'. While watching scenes from the movie during a pre-release screening of the movie, a line uttered by one of the character's got Brown's attention, "they can't stop us." While collaborating on the song idea with Knight, the two began to reflect on their music biz travails. Issued as Ollie and Jerry, "Breakin'...There's No Stoppin Us" went to number three R&B; and number nine pop in the summer of 1984. The 12" extended version features a more echoey, cavernous mix and burning synth bass with an instrumental on the flipside. The duo ...

Slade ~ Run Runaway (1984)
"Run Runaway" is a hard rock song performed by English band Slade. The song was written by Jim Lea and Noddy Holder and was on their 1983 album The Amazing Kamikaze Syndrome. It reached #7 in the UK Singles Chart.[1] The album was released in the United States with a different track listing under the title Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply. In 1984, the single "Run Runaway" became the band's biggest American hit, peaking at #20 and spending a total of eight weeks on the Billboard Hot 100's Top 40. It was also #1 for two weeks on the Billboard Top Tracks chart.[2] The music video for the song was filmed at Eastnor Castle in Ledbury in Herefordshire, England. There is a marked similarity between the melody of this song and the recurring theme in the 1944 film Arsenic and Old Lace. Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply is an album by the British glam/hardrock group Slade. It was an alternate version of The Amazing Kamikaze Syndrome which was released in the UK the preceding year. Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply was released in the United States in 1984 and reached number 33 in the US charts. This album proved to be Slade's most successful American album over the group's more than 20 years of releases in the States. Both "Run Runaway" and "My Oh My" continue to receive consistent radio airplay in the United States and are considered Slade's most recognizable songs amongst Americans.
