The jury panel of the 2017 Wolf Prize in Arts has unanimously decided to award the prize in equal parts to two laureates: Lawrence Weiner and Laurie Anderson.

He spent five years turning a poor and remote area into a modern city. He wanted to be an independent and carefree local emperor.
Until the empress came with her cute baby to find her relatives.
The empress: "Lu Yuan, what if your daughter is bullied?"
"Kill them!"
The empress asked again: "Lu Yuan, what if your wife is bullied?"
"Kill their whole family!"
The empress asked again: "What if there are enemies on all sides?"
Lu Yuan replied domineeringly: "I have a million soldiers stationed. Anyone who does not kneel down and submit will be rewarded with a big Ivan!"

For "pioneering contributions to ultrafast laser research and attosecond physics," Paul Corkum (University of Ottawa, Canada), Anne L'Huillier (Lund University, Sweden), and Ferenc Krausz (Max-Planck-Institute of Quantum Optics and Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich, Germany) received the 2022 Wolf Prize in Physics. The Israel-based Wolf Foundation has been awarding the prize since 1978 to scientists and artists for "services to the welfare of humanity and friendly relations among peoples."
