Explosion sounds used in many films from the late 50's - early 90's Vol 2 (Cinesound)
Another favourite explosion sound of mine. An assortment of variants of a particular type of explosion that was used many many times over the years. Again, like the other Cinesound stuff, this is one that you just cannot re-record today as the materials just aren't made like they used to. These variants were used in: Dunkirk - 1958 From Russia With Love - 1963 (Thanks NYgfwa) Guns At Batasi - 1964 Paul Starr (TV series pilot) - 1964 Goldfinger - 1964 (Thanks NYgfwa) Genghis Khan - 1965 Thunderbirds -1965 - 1966 Thunderball - 1965 (Thanks NYgfwa) Daleks -- Invasion Earth: 2150 AD - 1966 (Thanks MsipmsonW) You Only Live Twice - 1967 Captain Scarlet - 1967 -1968 Thunderbird 6 - 1968 Where Eagles Dare - 1968 The Lost Continent - 1968 Joe 90 - 1968 - 1969 Journey to the Far Side of the Sun - 1969 Battle Of Britain - 1969 The Secret Service - 1969 Crossplot -1969 On Her Majesty's Secret Service - 1969 UFO - 1970 Hornets Nest - 1970 Waterloo - 1970 Murphys War - 1971 Diamonds are Forever - 1971 - Thanks Dom737800 The Mechanic - 1972 Live and Let Die - 1973 The Four Muskateers - 1974 Gerry Andersons Into Infinity - 1975 Star Maidens - 1976 (Thanks thebladezmanII) Shout at the devil - 1976 Space 1999 - 1975 - 1977 Escape to Athena - 1979 Moonraker - 1979 (Thanks NYgfwa) X-Bomber (Star Fleet) - 1981 Time Bandits - 1981 (Thanks thebladezmanII) The Soldier - 1982 (Thanks lomaxfellow) Superman 3 (Unremastered) - 1983 Overdrawn at the Memory Bank - 1983 (Thanks thebladezmanII) King ...

Incoming artillery mortar whistle sounds used in many films from late 50's - 2000's (Cinesound)
This sound was used in loads of war films. It was Invariably used on incoming mortar shells or explosives. I cant remember many off the top of my head at the moment. If you know of any, be sure to post in the comments below Used in: Dunkirk - 1958 Thunderball - 1965 Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - 1968 Waterloo - 1970 A Bridge Too Far - 1977 Cross Of Iron - 1977 Cuba - 1979 Star Fleet - 1980, 1981 (Thanks thebladezmanII) Land Of The Lion - 1981 Top Secret! - 1985 Sky Bandits - 1986 The Living Daylights 1987 Hamburger Hill - 1987 (Thanks Gphazor) Thomas The Tank Engine - Rusty And The Boulder - 1998 (Thanks thebladezmanII) Half Life - 1998 (PC Game) (most likely ripped from a movie) The Pacific Part 5 - 2010 (Re-record maybe?) (Thanks BFBC2ZOCKER1000) My Cinesound Effects Library preservation project can be found at the Fanderson forums: www.fanderson.org.uk If you've heard this sound in other films, by all means add it to the comments and I'll update the listing.

WW II : RARE COLOR FILM : DUNKIRK PART 1 OF 3 1939 1940
protectacow.typepad.com Prabhupada: Our first problem is, because we have got this material body, eating. Everyone must eat. So Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita, annad bhavanti bhutani: "If there is sufficient food grains, then both man and animal, they become happy." Therefore our first religion is to produce food grain sufficiently to feed everyone. Krsi-go-raksya-vanijyam vaisya-karma svabhava. This matter has been entrusted to the vaisyas. They should produce sufficient food and give protection to the cows for sufficient milk. Then the whole human society, animal society, will be happy. But we are disobeying the orders or the rules given by God. Instead of producing food, we are producing motorcars. And motor tires, motor parts. And so many other things. And therefore people are starving. The manual labor is being misused. We are disobeying the orders of God. Therefore we are unhappy. I have seen all over the world. There are enough space for producing food grains. And if we actually produce food grain, we can maintain ten times of the present population of the whole world. There is no question of scarcity because God has created everything complete. Purnam idam purnam adaya purnat purnam udacyate. There cannot be any defect in the creation of God. We have created these defects on account of our disobeying the orders of God. God never said that "motorcar-ad bhavanti bhutani." He never says. But instead of producing food grains, we are producing so many unwanted things ...

K96 Chalet at Camber Sands for rental
A video of one of the two chalets we have for let at Camber sands on the Park resort. It is five minutes walk from the fantastic two and a half mile sandy beach with shops and restaurants nearby. It is ten minutes drive to Rye which is a quaint village full of artists studios and antique shops and is wonderfully picturesque and makes for a great afternoon out. Camber sands is a twenty minute drive from Hastings, home of the famous battle of Hastings of 1066 which boasts (among other things) a Sea life centre, beach side fun fare, go kart tracks, a great amusement arcade, fishing village which sells fresh sea food caught that day, a historic cable lift up to the cliff top where you can see for miles and the modern town where you can do all your regular shopping. It also has a main line station to London. Camber sands is a blue flag award winning beach In Camber Village there are 5 or 6 cafes, a couple of chip shops, a couple of general stores, a post office, several shops selling beach goods etc, some amusements and a couple of pubs. There is food out there as long as you are prepared to pay for it. It is a tourist resort and as such you are well advised to shop at supermarkets or it is going to cost you. Nearest big Tesco is Hastings or Ashford ( up to about 20 miles away), medium size Sainsbury's in New Romney ( 7 miles or so ) and Morrisons in Hastings about 15 miles away The beach has become a popular location for kitesurfing, kiteboarding and kite buggying due to its ...

Pillbox vid 56 Type 28A anti-tank gun emplacement West of Teston bridge.
Location: On strip of land between Tonbridge Road and the railway and River Medway, Teston. One of a pair of Type 28a pillboxes giving cover over Teston bridge. Condition: Good Description:Type 28A anti-tank gun emplacement, concrete-faced and only has 3 embrasures for bren guns and the main embrasures for the anti tank gun but no embrasures for rear defence. It would have a commanding view of the Teston road bridge over the River Medway but there are a lot of trees blocking the view .It is very close to the A26 and is hard to see even from the path and is not on Google earth. It was sad to see a dead fox in there which did smell a lot..Iv heard that the bridge was featured in the 1958 war film Dunkirk.

La Retaguardia Jazz Band - Mama Don't Allow
Highlights from the Whitley Bay Jazz Festival 2010. From Chilie the La Retaguardia Jazz Band . This is the first time a jazz band from Chile has appeared in the UK, and it's great that La Retaguardia should form the advance-guard in this respect, since their name translates as "the rear-guard": in their choice of the classic jazz of Morton, Ellington, Henderson, Oliver and Armstrong, they represent the very opposite of the "avant-garde" so beloved of Arts Councils the world over. Their stubborn resistance to the forces of modernism began way back in 1958, so this is a rearguard action on the epic scale of Dunkirk, or Napoleon's retreat from Moscow -- and the intensity with which they play is very indicative of their deeply-held feelings on the subject. The eight-piece band is led by pianist and founder-member Antonio Campusano; they are based in Santiago, where they appear regularly both live and on TV, and have performed at festivals in Rio de Janeiro, New Orleans and the South of France.

Tribute to Capt Keith Sturt
A montage of photos and footage in tribute of my Step Grand Father Capt. Keith Sturt who was killed at RAF Syerston whilst performing a low flypast in the VX770 Vulcan for the Battle of Britain air display on 20th September 1958 (Apologies for the mistake on date at the end of this tribute...it should say 20th Sept NOT 28th Sept). I've been asked what music is playing on here. It's called 'Elegy for Dunkirk' and features in the film 'Atonement', it contains the hymn 'Dear Lord and Father of Mankind' which I think is very fitting for this Tibute.

RICH MARTIN'S CRNGBPSS 3
In part 3 of our look at the building of the historic ERIE Railroad from Port Jervis, west to the shores of Lake Erie and Dunkirk , NY. The ERIE RR also reached Chicago , Il. and I ventured to the Windy City to take a look at Dearborn Station as it appears today . Then hopping back to the East coast I give a look at the Delaware Lackawanna & Western 1907 Terminal, ( later also shared with the ERIE in 1958 ! ) . A car float with DL&W Cabin Car built in 1949. Follow the story west to Hallstead, PA and the Southern Tier of New York State as we take a few views of the changes made to the lines since their inceptions. These videos are designed with the historian and railfans of the world in mind. They are also for everyone in my homeland, Corning , NY. Featuring original music by another Corning, NY Native Jimmy Kosty. 1. " Dance Dance Dance " : 2. " Blackout " 3.
