Königsfelden Monastery is a former Franciscan double monastery, which housed both a community of Poor Clare nuns and one of Franciscan friars, living in separate wings, in the municipality of Windisch in the canton of Aargau in Switzerland. Founded in 1330, it originally consisted of a Benedictine double monastery -- a community for men and another for women -- and also a house of the Teutonic Knights.
The original Gothic abbey church was built between 1330 and 1370.

Our idea is to protect Serbian cultural heritage by preserving Serbian visual identity.
Our aim is to present the riches of the Serbian cultural treasure via electronic media.
The Fund has established the Design & Programming Company "STUDIO A". Our greatest joint programme so far has been production of CD ROM "Mount Athos - Eight Centuries of the Chilandar Monastery and the Nemanyich Dynasty".
AETOS is a Greek word, meaning "eagle". A double-headed eagle was heraldic symbol of the Nemanyich Dynasty. We have therefore chosen it as the Fund's Logo.

We are a designing and programming company dealing with multimedia. We conceive and realize projects related to domestic and world cultural heritage.

Authentic design solutions, 3-D animation, expertly prepared contents, programme and installation reliability, represent a high-quality guarantee of all our editions.
Our ambitions are to become No 1 in domestic multimedia production.
On the occasion of the great Anniversary - eight hundred years of establishment of the Serbian Royal Lavra, the Chilandar Monastery on Mount Athos - we have produced the CD ROM "Mount Athos - Eight Centuries of the Chilandar Monastery and the Nemanyich Dynasty".

Ettal Abbey (Kloster Ettal) is a Benedictine monastery in the village of Ettal close to Oberammergau and Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria, Germany. With a community (as of 2005) of more than 50 monks, with another five at Wechselburg, the Abbey is one of the largest Benedictine houses and is a major attraction for visitors. Ettal Abbey was founded on 28 April 1330, Saint Vitalis of Milan's day, by Emperor Ludwig the Bavarian in the Graswang valley, in fulfilment of an oath on his return from Italy, on a site of strategic importance on the primary trade route between Italy and Augsburg. The foundation legend is that Ludwig's horse genuflected three times on the site of the original church building, where a statuette of the Virgin Mary ("Frau Stifterin" or the "Ettal Madonna") of the Pisano School now stands, a gift from Ludwig to his new foundation. This statue soon became an object of pilgrimage. The church is dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin. The foundation originally consisted of a Benedictine double monastery – a community for men and another for women – and also a house of the Teutonic Knights. The original Gothic abbey church, built between 1330 and 1370, was a modest structure in comparison to the great churches of medieval Bavaria. The abbey suffered great damage during the Reformation at the hands of the troops of Maurice of Saxony, but survived the troubles of the Thirty Years' War (1618–1648).During the winter of 1940–1941, the German pastor and theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer (1906–1945) spent some months at the monastery as the friend and guest of the Abbot. Like Bonhoeffer, a number of those in the Ettal community were involved in the conspiracy against Hitler. While at Ettal, Bonhoeffer also worked on his book Ethics. Catholic priest Rupert Mayer was kept at the Abbey from 1939 to 1945 by the Nazis to prevent him for further anti-Nazi preaching.

Double monastery
A double monastery (also double house) is a monastery combining a separate community of monks and one of nuns, joined in one institution. More common in the monasticism of Eastern Christianity, where they are found since the 4th century, in the West the establishment of double monasteries became popular after Columbanus and were found in Anglo-Saxon England and Gaul. Double monasteries were forbidden by the Second Council of Nicaea in 787, though it took many years for the decree to be enforced. In a significantly different way, double monasteries were revived again after the 12th century, when again a number of religious houses were established on this pattern, among Benedictines and possibly the Dominicans. The 14th-century Bridgittines were consciously founded using this form of community.
Examples include the original Coldingham Monastery in Scotland, and Einsiedeln Abbey and Fahr Abbey in Switzerland, controlled by the abbot of Einsiedeln. In general, monks and nuns lived in separate buildings but were usually united under an Abbess as head of the entire household, and would have chanted the Liturgy of the Hours and attended Mass together in the Chapel. Either an abbess or an abbot would normally have control over both houses, and it was only in exceptional circumstances that each would have its own superior.

CD-ROM
A CD-ROM /ˌsiːˌdiːˈrɒm/ is a pre-pressed optical compact disc which contains data. The name is an acronym which stands for "Compact Disc Read-Only Memory". Computers can read CD-ROMs, but cannot write to CD-ROMs which are not writable or erasable.
Until the mid-2000s, CD-ROMs were popularly used to distribute software for computers and video game consoles. Some CDs, called enhanced CDs, hold both computer data and audio with the latter capable of being played on a CD player, while data (such as software or digital video) is only usable on a computer (such as ISO 9660 format PC CD-ROMs).
The Yellow Book is the technical standard that defines the format of CD-ROMs. One of a set of color-bound books that contain the technical specifications for all CD formats, the Yellow Book, created by Sony and Philips in 1988, was the first extension of Compact Disc Digital Audio. It adapted the format to hold any form of digital data.
CD-ROM discs
Media
CD-ROMs are identical in appearance to audio CDs, and data are stored and retrieved in a very similar manner (only differing from audio CDs in the standards used to store the data). Discs are made from a 1.2 mm thick disc of polycarbonate plastic, with a thin layer of aluminium to make a reflective surface. The most common size of CD-ROM is 120 mm in diameter, though the smaller Mini CD standard with an 80 mm diameter, as well as shaped compact discs in numerous non-standard sizes and molds (e.g., business card-sized media) are also available.

Ettal Abbey (Kloster Ettal) is a Benedictine monastery in the village of Ettal close to Oberammergau and Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria, Germany. With a community (as of 2005) of more than 50 monks, with another five at Wechselburg, the Abbey is one of the largest Benedictine houses and is a major attraction for visitors. Ettal Abbey was founded on 28 April 1330, Saint Vitalis of Milan's day, by Emperor Ludwig the Bavarian in the Graswang valley, in fulfilment of an oath on his return from Italy, on a site of strategic importance on the primary trade route between Italy and Augsburg. The foundation legend is that Ludwig's horse genuflected three times on the site of the original church building, where a statuette of the Virgin Mary ("Frau Stifterin" or the "Ettal Madonna") of the Pisano School now stands, a gift from Ludwig to his new foundation. This statue soon became an object of pilgrimage. The church is dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin. The foundation originally consisted of a Benedictine double monastery – a community for men and another for women – and also a house of the Teutonic Knights. The original Gothic abbey church, built between 1330 and 1370, was a modest structure in comparison to the great churches of medieval Bavaria. The abbey suffered great damage during the Reformation at the hands of the troops of Maurice of Saxony, but survived the troubles of the Thirty Years' War (1618–1648).During the winter of 1940–1941, the German pastor and theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer (1906–1945) spent some months at the monastery as the friend and guest of the Abbot. Like Bonhoeffer, a number of those in the Ettal community were involved in the conspiracy against Hitler. While at Ettal, Bonhoeffer also worked on his book Ethics. Catholic priest Rupert Mayer was kept at the Abbey from 1939 to 1945 by the Nazis to prevent him for further anti-Nazi preaching.

Our idea is to protect Serbian cultural heritage by preserving Serbian visual identity.
Our aim is to present the riches of the Serbian cultural treasure via electronic media.
The Fund has established the Design & Programming Company "STUDIO A". Our greatest joint programme so far has been production of CD ROM "Mount Athos - Eight Centuries of the Chilandar Monastery and the Nemanyich Dynasty".
AETOS is a Greek word, meaning "eagle". A double-headed eagle was heraldic symbol of the Nemanyich Dynasty. We have therefore chosen it as the Fund's Logo.

STUDIO A
We are a designing and programming company dealing with multimedia. We conceive and realize projects related to domestic and world cultural heritage.
The idea of preservation of our visual identity associates us with the Fund for the Protection of Spiritual Heritage AETOS.
Authentic design solutions, 3-D animation, expertly prepared contents, programme and installation reliability, represent a high-quality guarantee of all our editions.
Our ambitions are to become No 1 in domestic multimedia production.
On the occasion of the great Anniversary - eight hundred years of establishment of the Serbian Royal Lavra, the Chilandar Monastery on Mount Athos - we have produced the CD ROM "Mount Athos - Eight Centuries of the Chilandar Monastery and the Nemanyich Dynasty".

Ettal Abbey (Kloster Ettal) is a Benedictine monastery in the village of Ettal close to Oberammergau and Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria, Germany. With a community (as of 2005) of more than 50 monks, with another five at Wechselburg, the Abbey is one of the largest Benedictine houses and is a major attraction for visitors. Ettal Abbey was founded on 28 April 1330, Saint Vitalis of Milan's day, by Emperor Ludwig the Bavarian in the Graswang valley, in fulfilment of an oath on his return from Italy, on a site of strategic importance on the primary trade route between Italy and Augsburg. The foundation legend is that Ludwig's horse genuflected three times on the site of the original church building, where a statuette of the Virgin Mary ("Frau Stifterin" or the "Ettal Madonna") of the Pisano School now stands, a gift from Ludwig to his new foundation. This statue soon became an object of pilgrimage. The church is dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin. The foundation originally consisted of a Benedictine double monastery – a community for men and another for women – and also a house of the Teutonic Knights. The original Gothic abbey church, built between 1330 and 1370, was a modest structure in comparison to the great churches of medieval Bavaria. The abbey suffered great damage during the Reformation at the hands of the troops of Maurice of Saxony, but survived the troubles of the Thirty Years' War (1618–1648).During the winter of 1940–1941, the German pastor and theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer (1906–1945) spent some months at the monastery as the friend and guest of the Abbot. Like Bonhoeffer, a number of those in the Ettal community were involved in the conspiracy against Hitler. While at Ettal, Bonhoeffer also worked on his book Ethics. Catholic priest Rupert Mayer was kept at the Abbey from 1939 to 1945 by the Nazis to prevent him for further anti-Nazi preaching.

Ettal Abbey (Kloster Ettal) is a Benedictine monastery in the village of Ettal close to Oberammergau and Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria, Germany. With a community (as of 2005) of more than 50 monks, with another five at Wechselburg, the Abbey is one of the largest Benedictine houses and is a major attraction for visitors. Ettal Abbey was founded on 28 April 1330, Saint Vitalis of Milan's day, by Emperor Ludwig the Bavarian in the Graswang valley, in fulfilment of an oath on his return from Italy, on a site of strategic importance on the primary trade route between Italy and Augsburg. The foundation legend is that Ludwig's horse genuflected three times on the site of the original church building, where a statuette of the Virgin Mary ("Frau Stifterin" or the "Ettal Madonna") of the Pisano School now stands, a gift from Ludwig to his new foundation. This statue soon became an object of pilgrimage. The church is dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin. The foundation originally consisted of a Benedictine double monastery – a community for men and another for women – and also a house of the Teutonic Knights. The original Gothic abbey church, built between 1330 and 1370, was a modest structure in comparison to the great churches of medieval Bavaria. The abbey suffered great damage during the Reformation at the hands of the troops of Maurice of Saxony, but survived the troubles of the Thirty Years' War (1618–1648).During the winter of 1940–1941, the German pastor and theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer (1906–1945) spent some months at the monastery as the friend and guest of the Abbot. Four schools of thought dominate the religious landscape of Tibetan Buddhism; they are the Gelukpa, Nyingmapa, Kagyu and Sakhya orders. Each of the schools interact with one another and share similarities, but they also differ in aspects of practice, certain teachings (e.g. philosophical, epistemological), and musical traditions. Bhutan shares a similar religious culture to that of Tibet. Each of the schools interact with one another and share similarities,
but they also differ in aspects of practice, certain teachings
(e.g. philosophical, epistemological), and musical traditions.
Bhutan shares a similar religious culture to that of Tibet. While
the Gelukpa school rose to political power in Tibet (1690-1959), it
was the Drukpa Kagyu (or more simply, Drukpa) order a derivative of
the Kagyu order that took political hold in Bhutan. The religious
and musical life of Bhutanese Buddhists is dominated by the
traditions of both the Drukpa and Nyingmapa orders.
The two CDs are divided into three parts, with the first
presenting ritual music of the Drukpa. These songs were recorded in
the towns of Thimpu and Punashka, and draw upon dominant religious
forms, found throughout Bhutan, as well as folk elements particular
to region. The second section presents music from ritual dances from
both the Nyingmapa and Drukpa orders. Both monastic and public
ceremonies from two separate annual festivals are presented in the
third section.
While the music on the two-disc set is presented as Tibetan Buddhist
Rites, it is also distinctly Bhutanese. The opening track, a
propitiatory rite, serves as an invitation to Genyen: a protector
deity specifically associated with an area in Bhutan in the Thimpu
Valley. "Chham gi Serkyem gi Yang (Tune for Offering of Consecrated
Drink)" also calls attention to the particulars of Bhutanese Buddhism:
calling attention to specific protector deities of Bhutan and Serkyem,
a Bhutanese take on beer.
The recordings also serve to present a majority of the various instruments
used in both monastic and non-monastic song. The music of the shawm, a
double-reeded long horn, the silayen (cymbals), dramnyen (seven-string
long-necked guitar) and zurlim (flute) share space on these albums. Yet,
the most spectacular musical element on this CD comes from the individual
voices and polytonal throat chanting of monks. The most compelling piece,
in praise of the Nyingmapa scholar Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche), is
performed by a manip, or wandering ascetic.

Four schools of thought dominate the religious landscape of Tibetan
Buddhism; they are the Gelukpa, Nyingmapa, Kagyu and Sakhya orders.
Each of the schools interact with one another and share similarities,
but they also differ in aspects of practice, certain teachings
(e.g. philosophical, epistemological), and musical traditions.
Bhutan shares a similar religious culture to that of Tibet. While
the Gelukpa school rose to political power in Tibet (1690-1959), it
was the Drukpa Kagyu (or more simply, Drukpa) order a derivative of
the Kagyu order that took political hold in Bhutan. The religious
and musical life of Bhutanese Buddhists is dominated by the
traditions of both the Drukpa and Nyingmapa orders.
The two CDs are divided into three parts, with the first
presenting ritual music of the Drukpa. These songs were recorded in
the towns of Thimpu and Punashka, and draw upon dominant religious
forms, found throughout Bhutan, as well as folk elements particular
to region. The second section presents music from ritual dances from
both the Nyingmapa and Drukpa orders. Both monastic and public
ceremonies from two separate annual festivals are presented in the
third section.
While the music on the two-disc set is presented as Tibetan Buddhist
Rites, it is also distinctly Bhutanese. The opening track, a
propitiatory rite, serves as an invitation to Genyen: a protector
deity specifically associated with an area in Bhutan in the Thimpu
Valley. "Chham gi Serkyem gi Yang (Tune for Offering of Consecrated
Drink)" also calls attention to the particulars of Bhutanese Buddhism:
calling attention to specific protector deities of Bhutan and Serkyem,
a Bhutanese take on beer.
The recordings also serve to present a majority of the various instruments
used in both monastic and non-monastic song. The music of the shawm, a
double-reeded long horn, the silayen (cymbals), dramnyen (seven-string
long-necked guitar) and zurlim (flute) share space on these albums. Yet,
the most spectacular musical element on this CD comes from the individual
voices and polytonal throat chanting of monks. The most compelling piece,
in praise of the Nyingmapa scholar Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche), is
performed by a manip, or wandering ascetic.

From the age of 13-17 my life consisted of very few things. Women, Alcohol, Marijuana, crime, and money. I quickly fell into a life of worldly pleasures and comforts. I quit school in the 9th grade and got a full time job doing landscaping. I moved out of my house at 15 years old to live with a friend of mine who I got in trouble with, and we worked together and lived together. I really don't remember a lot of my teenage years because I was always so intoxicated and high. But then right when I would turn 17 something happened!
