The best contradiction against Christians
This is a contradiction which can not be countered with the usual "mistranslation" or "copyist error" or any other typical apologetic response. This contradiction is quite simple: Either Matthew got it wrong, Luke got it wrong, or they BOTH got it wrong! Some common attempts at rebuttals: "It's not Herod the Great." If you look at Matthew 2:22 you'll see a reference to Archelaus and "his father" Herod. Archelaus was the son of Herod THE GREAT and brother to Antipas. Antipas is mentioned in 14:1-2. So YES, it IS Herod the Great. "Quirinius was governor twice." This is an assertion which has nothing to support it other than more assertions. "It didn't mean 'governor' but instead 'one who governs'...so it could have been a lesser office of power." Luke only makes ONE reference to Quirinius and it's to establish that he was governor of Syria at the time. If he were in any less of an office, the entire point of bringing up his name would be worthless. It would be the same as pointing out that there was an attack on American soil when Obama was a Senator in an article that isn't about Obama and we never reference him again. If we are trying to attach a political figure to establish roughly when it happened (as Luke is obviously doing) we would name President Bush, not someone else.

Video response to a comment on my video channel by Truthspeaker Herod's during the time of Jesus: Herod the Great (37-4 BC) Herod Archelaus (4 BC - AD 6) Herod Philip (4B.C.- AD 34 AD) Herod Antipas (4 BC- AD 39) Herod Agrippa I (AD 41-44) Herod Arippa II (AD 49-93) Historians show that Census were done by the Herod. And in fact, given the timings and framework for them, the general time of Jesus birth falls in line. TruthSpeaker not only uses logic fallacies but inaccurate historical information.

The 'Praise the Lord' Challenge Met
Hello Mike Mickey(sp?), Since you are the one uploading these videos on behalf of the people without cameras; then can you please forward this response to "Brother Todd"? I do not require a video response, unless it is from "Brother Todd" himself. Oh, and I noticed that he was holding the KJ study bible(which comes with commentary). I can translate some of the Hebrew or Greek for him if need be to better help him discern what the book says. PS I entreat you, Todd and anyone else to read each book mentioned in its entirety. And please do not cherry-pick what only sounds pleasing to you. Thank you Katalyzt Who is the father of Joseph? Matthew 2.13-23 - God Cares
We all doubt that God cares, because we do not see much of it in our world. We lose confidence that God is working things out for our Good and that of course in contrary to reality. For God to care it means that his justice, wrath, punishment, and condemnation are done because he delights in revealing himself to People especially those who trust him and His son -- Jesus Christ. In Matthew 2:13-23, God care can be seen in His preservation of his people, in His salvation of his people, in His support of His people. We see that God cares because he protects. He does so in his revelation in Scripture. God is sovereign and shows his care in preserving the Messiah in Egypt (see also Gen 46 for another example). Many today question God's care, but Christians know that we must not put God on trial. When we question God's motives like this, we are saying that we know better than God does. That is the gist of the argument that Paul declares in Romans 9:19-20 (see also Dan 4:3-5) against the antagonist who doesn't believe God can be just and render certain the salvation of his elect. Nothing man can do can thwart God's plan in this world to accomplish what his beneficial to the display of his glory and the salvation of all whosoever believes in Christ. Herod, on the other hand, wanted to protect his own kingdom and had the audacity to act like a fool. Did he think he could protect his own rule better than God can protect any of his Children and especially the Live of His only Son ...

32. Herod the Great
The New Testament begins with two "kings" of the Jewish people. Herod, who had been appointed by Rome, and Jesus, who had been appointed by God. The contest between them represented the culmination of a career of Herod's attempts to prove himself, but for all his achievements, his life ended in disaster and ignomeny.

Heritage Auctions (HA.com) - Highlights of the Shoshana Collection: Judaean Coins of the Persian Period, Maccabee and Herodian Eras, The Jewish War, Bar Kokhba Revolt, Roman Judea Capta Coinage and City Coins of the Ancient Holy Land. The auction of The Shoshana Collection of Ancient Judaean Coins at Heritage is truly a sale of epic history. Among the hundreds of coins to be sold in New York will be a Silver Year 1 Shekel prototype coin -- among the very first coins minted by Jewish Revolutionaries when they ousted the Roman Legion from Jerusalem in 66 AD -- along with a Year 5 Shekel, found at Masada, along with hundreds of other ancient coins of the region. Altogether, these coins tell the compelling story of the "recent" history of the Jewish People. More info: www.HA.com/3003

June 15.avi Escape to Egypt - Matthew 2:13-23 - Psalm 91:14
Matthew 2:13-23 Psalm 91:14 Escape to Egypt Herod said he wanted to worship Jesus!, but that wasn't what he really wanted to do. How would Mary and Joseph protect their son from Herod's plan to kill him? Matthew 2:13-23 The Escape to Egypt After the wise men were gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. "Get up! Flee to Egypt with the child and his mother," the angel said. "Stay there until I tell you to return, because Herod is going to search for the child to kill him." That night Joseph left for Egypt with the child and Mary, his mother, and they stayed there until Herod's death. This fulfilled what the Lord had spoken through the prophet: "I called my Son out of Egypt."e Herod was furious when he realized that the wise men had outwitted him. He sent soldiers to kill all the boys in and around Bethlehem who were two years old and under, based on the wise men's report of the star's first appearance. Herod's brutal action fulfilled what God had spoken through the prophet Jeremiah: "A cry was heard in Ramah— weeping and great mourning. Rachel weeps for her children, refusing to be comforted, for they are dead."f The Return to Nazareth When Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt. "Get up!" the angel said. "Take the child and his mother back to the land of Israel, because those who were trying to kill the child are dead." So Joseph got up and returned to the land of Israel with Jesus and his mother. But when he learned that ...

When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt, and was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, "Out of Egypt I called My Son." The Holy Bible - Matthew Chapter 2 (King James Version)
Matthew Chapter 2: 1Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, 2Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. 3When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. 4And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. 5And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, 6And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel. 7Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared. 8And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also. 9When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. 10When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. 11And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh ...
