Dancing Colors of ArkGrb - Advanced Visual technology for Club Music
Audio and Video Production: ArkGrb - studio AGB ------------------------------------------------------------- By the mid-late 2000s, Euro disco saw renewed interest. Artists such as Irene Cara, Berlin and the late Laura Branigan saw a surge in popularity, especially in places where it was not commercially successful after 1984, such as North America and South America. A notable Euro disco artist to rise during this decade is Mark Ashley[citation needed]. His single "Give Me a Chance" became his most successful single yet, making the Top 40 of the Austrian chart[citation needed]. [edit]Influence in the United States The influence of Euro disco had infiltrated dance and pop in the US by 1983, as European producers and songwriters inspired a new generation of American performers[citation needed]. While disco had been declared "dead" due to a backlash there in 1979, subsequent Euro-flavored successes crossing the boundaries of rock, pop, and dance, such as "Call Me" by Blondie and "Gloria" by Laura Branigan, ushered in a new era of American-fronted dance music. Branigan (produced by German producer Jack White) moved deeper into the Euro disco style for further hits[citation needed], alongside Giorgio Moroder-produced US acts Berlin and Irene Cara[citation needed]. By 1984, musicians from many countries had begun to produce Euro-disco songs. In Germany, notable practitioners of the sound included Modern Talking, Sandra. Alphaville had Falco, although he was also heavily ...

EUROPA - Visual mock-up from ESA study
MindArk PE AB, developer and publisher of Entropia Universe and Entropia Platform, performed a study on uses of online game technology for space education and system analysis on behalf of the European Space Agency (ESA) in 2009/2010. MMO-based technology has strong ties to acquiring knowledge through discovery, collaborative problem solving and team-based learning. This is supported by the findings of the study and the project with the European Space Agency has been a great push forward for us in this area. MindArk´s interest in implementing educational content inside online games was sparked by our previous discussions with NASA about their online game plans. said Christian Björkman, MindArks Chief Marketing Officer. Besides applying our current experience from the global video game industry, the work on the study has helped MindArk in finding new means of mixing technical and educational content with entertainment in Entropia Universe. Working with ESA has made us ready to move on to the next level, ready to work with industry partners in building qualitative, engaging and top-class game content for online environments that will be both entertaining and motivating. The study was performed to assess options for ESA with regards to using online game technology, specifically in the areas of outreach/promotion, education and collaborative engineering. MindArk has produced this visual mock-up based on a live game environment in Entropia Universe to illustrate the feasibility ...

Strangeloop: 2010 [or] How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Technological Singularity
2010: the exclusive visual edit made to accompany Dr Strangeloop's mix for my BBC Radio1 show.. This was filmed between 4th and 11th April 2011. I had the pleasure of visiting El Teide.
Spain´s highest mountain @(3718m) is one of the best places in the world to photograph the stars and is also the location of Teide Observatories, considered to be one of the world´s best observatories.
The goal was to capture the beautiful Milky Way galaxy along with one of the most amazing mountains I know El Teide. I have to say this was one of the most exhausting trips I have done. There was a lot of hiking at high altitudes and probably less than 10 hours of sleep in total for the whole week. Having been here 10-11 times before I had a long list of must-see locations I wanted to capture for this movie, but I am still not 100% used to carrying around so much gear required for time-lapse movies.
A large sandstorm hit the Sahara Desert on the 9th April (http://bit.ly/g3tsDW) and at approx 3am in the night the sandstorm hit me, making it nearly impossible to see the sky with my own eyes.
Interestingly enough my camera was set for a 5 hour sequence of the milky way during this time and I was sure my whole scene was ruined. To my surprise, my camera had managed to capture the sandstorm which was backlit by Grand Canary Island making it look like golden clouds. The Milky Way was shining through the clouds, making the stars sparkle in an interesting way. So if you ever wondered how the Milky Way would look through a Sahara sandstorm, look at 00:32.

The V Motion Project
The Motion Project was a collaboration between a lot of clever creative people working together to create a machine that turns motion into music. The client for the project, Frucor (makers of V energy drink), together with their agency Colenso BBDO, kitted-out a warehouse space for this project to grow in and gathered together a group of talented people from a number of creative fields.
http://www.v.co.nz/#the-motion-project
We created and designed the live visual spectacle with a music video being produced from the results. We wanted it to be clear that the technology was real and actually being played live. The interface plays a key role in illustrating the idea of the instrument and we designed it to highlight the audio being controlled by the dancer. Design elements like real time tracking and samples being drawn on as they are played all add to authenticity of the performance. The visuals are all created live and the music video is essentially a real document of the night.

Immaterials: Light painting WiFi
This project explores the invisible terrain of WiFi networks in urban spaces by light painting signal strength in long-exposure photographs.
A four-metre long measuring rod with 80 points of light reveals cross-sections through WiFi networks using a photographic technique called light-painting.
