Sacred Chants - Mandukya Upanishad (Shloka 1)
Shlokas from the Mandukya Upanishad. itunes.apple.com www.amazon.com www.emusic.com market.android.com www.addkiosk.in Track: Verse 1 Artist: Pt. Ganesh Vidyalankar Album: Maandookya Upanishad The Maandookya Upanishad belongs to the Atharva Veda. It is one of the shortest Upanishads, containing only 12 verses. It's length however, has no bearing on the knowledge contained within it. In fact, the Muktikopanishad says that if a person cannot afford to study all of the Upanishads, it is enough to read just the Maandookya Upanishad. The Maandookya Upanishad refers to four states of consciousness -- wakefulness, dreaming, dreamless sleep and the Absolute or Self, explained through the principle of AUM. AUM consists of three elements -- 'a', 'u' and 'm'. The 'a' corresponds to the state of wakefulness (jagrata), wherein one is aware of sensory experiences. The 'u' corresponds to the state of dreaming sleep (svapna), where the mind is the only thing that is awake. The 'm' corresponds to the state of dreamless sleep (susupti), where only the Atman is aware of this experience. The silence that follows the chant of AUM corresponds to the Fourth state (turiya). Turiya, which literally means "The Fourth" is the ultimate state of consciousness. It is the three preceding levels, yet it transcends them all. It is consciousness itself.

My mother is Goddess Parvati, My father is God Maheswara, My relations are the devotees of Shiva, And my country is the universe. Goddess Annapurna Mata is the Hindu goddess of food and cooking. Annapurna is empowered with the ability to supply food to an unlimited amount of people. Annapurna means in Sanskrit 'Anna' means food and 'purna' means complete; together the term Annapurna signifies nourishing with food to the fullest. Food is one of the basic necessities of life, and it is no wonder that we say 'Annam Brahma', food is God. Mata Annapurna is an incarnation of Goddess Parvati who is the wife of Lord Shiva. Physically, Annapurna is described as holding a golden ladle adorned with various kinds of jewels in her right hand and a vessel full of delicious porridge in her left. She is seated on a throne. In some depictions, Lord Shiva is shown standing to her right with a begging bowl, begging her for alms and also asking to Annapurna to provide unlimited food that people can get energy and achieve the knowledge and enlightenment. BHAKTAMAR STOTRA -PART 1-JAIN SHLOKAS
According to legends that are given in several texts, the Jain monk Mantunga was chained and imprisoned by the local King Vriddha Bhoj. Mantunga composed his stotra in the prison. With the completion of each verse, a chain broke, (A door opened). Manatunga was free when all the verses were finished. Bhaktamara pranata maulimaniprabhanam uddyotakam dalita papa tamovitanam. Samyak pranamyajinapadayugam yugada- valambanam bhavajale patatam jananam. || 1 || When the Gods bow down at the feet of Bhagavan Rishabhdeva divine glow of his nails increases shininess of jewels of their crowns. Mere touch of his feet absolves the beings from sins. He who submits himself at these feet is saved from taking birth again and again. I offer my reverential salutations at the feet of Bhagavan Rishabhadeva, the first Tirthankar, the propagator of religion at the beginning of this era.
