Fox News' Sean Hannity Feeds Donald Trump Fake Middle Eastern Refugee Claim From Hoax Website
Clips of Sean Hannity and Donald Trump discussing the 250,000 Syrian refugees President Barack Obama said he would allow into the United States.
The waves of refugees fleeing Syria and Iraq have given the conflict there a domestic immediacy in the race for the White House. While Europe is absorbing the great majority of refugees, some are headed toward the United States. The question is, how many?
About 250,000, according to Fox News host Sean Hannity. During an interview with Republican presidential contender Jeb Bush on Oct. 19, 2015, Hannity worried that ISIS would try to infiltrate the arriving masses.
"You see the backlash emerging now in Europe over the refugee problem for Syria and Iraq," Hannity said. "The president said he’s going to bring in 250,000 refugees into this country."
"We can’t take 250,000 refugees," Bush responded. "I’ve never heard that, and that would be impossible to imagine logistically for us to screen."
In plain fact, President Barack Obama never said that, nor as far as anyone can tell has any member of his administration. In September, White House press secretary Josh Earnest told reporters Obama "informed his team that he would like them to accept -- at least make preparations to accept -- at least 10,000 Syrian refugees in the next fiscal year."
In its Fiscal Year 2016 budget request, the administration is asking for enough money to resettle 85,000 people in total from around the world. The figure would rise to 100,000 in Fiscal Year 2017.
The 250,000 figure, if it were accurate, would dwarf the 120,000 refugees from the Syrian conflict the European community said it aims to relocate inside its members’ borders.
The Migration Policy Institute gathers data to track the movement of people across the globe.
"We are not aware of any suggestion that the United States would seek to resettle 250,000 refugees from Syria or Iraq," Michelle Mittelstadt, the institute’s director of communications, told us.
We reached out to Hannity’s program and did not hear back.
The figure he used seems to have emerged in early September on a website called realnewsrightnow.com. The website reported that State Department spokeswoman Cathy Pieper announced that 250,000 Syrian refugees would be resettled on tribal reservation lands in Arizona and North Dakota.
We could find no Cathy Pieper working for the State Department.
Other articles on realnewsrightnow.com claim that "Obama will exercise his presidential powers" ending term limits and that Pope Francis claimed that "God Has Instructed Me to Revise the Ten Commandments."
The author of all the articles is R. Hobbus J.D., who "has received numerous awards for his work including the prestigious Stephen Glass Distinction in Journalistic Integrity (2011), The Oscar Mayer Award for Journalistic Excellence (2003), three Nobel Peace Prize nominations, one Pulitzer in Investigative Reporting (1998), and two Pulitzer Prizes in Commentary (1996, 2008). He resides comfortably in his modest home overlooking the coast of Nantucket surrounded by his wife and twelve cats."
Long story short, while we don’t know where Hannity got his number, it appears someone fell for a hoax from a fake news website.
For the record, Hannity brought up the figure again Oct. 20 during an interview with Donald Trump. And Trump then used the 250,000 figure at a townhall meeting broadcast live on NBC in New Hampshire, Oct. 26.

The Syrian Arab Army has made gains on the ground over the last fortnight as Russian airstrikes continue to target militant groups fighting against the government. During the weekend, Syrian troops reinforced their positions near the town of Quneitra in the Golan Heights, which was seized from the Al-Qaeda-linked militant group Jabhat al-Nusra on Sunday.

STORYLINE:
Throwing rose petals and waving red, white and green Lebanese flags, hundreds of mourners lined the streets of central Beirut on Saturday for the funeral procession of an anti-Syrian journalist, amid calls for an international investigation into his death.
Samir Kassir, a 45-year-old newspaper columnist, was killed on Thursday by a bomb that exploded under his car in the Christian Beirut neighbourhood of Ashrafieh.
Lebanon's opposition, which blamed Syria and its local allies for the killing, asked government officials not to attend the funeral.
Hundreds of people watched as Kassir's coffin was carried from the offices of his newspaper, An-Nahar, in Beirut's downtown Martyrs' Square, by pallbearers including the newspaper's director-general, Gibran Tueini.
Mourners threw rose petals on the coffin as it made its way to a nearby Greek Orthodox church for Kassir's funeral.
Among mourners was Kassir's wife, journalist Giselle Khoury, a journalist with Al-Arabiya television, who had demanded an international investigation into her husband's death.
Kassir held French and Lebanese citizenship.
Lebanon's anti-Syrian opposition, which has demanded for months that pro-Syrian President Emile Lahoud resign, called for demonstrators to gather near the presidential palace on Monday.
Opposition leader Elias Atallah said the protesters would lay a wreath "that clearly points to the direct responsibility of this security regime."
Lahoud has condemned the killing of Kassir.
Syria pulled all its troops out of Lebanon in April after three decades, and Lebanon is in the midst of a four-round parliamentary election that the anti-Syrian opposition hopes will end Damascus' control of the legislature.
On Friday, some 200 journalists and politicians - many holding black pens to symbolise freedom of expression - stood for an hour in Martyrs' Square in silent tribute to Kassir, as bells tolled in nearby churches.
Opposition spokesmen blamed Syria for the assassination - a charge Syria strongly denied - and accused Damascus of continuing to interfere in Lebanon's politics.
There is widespread scepticism in Lebanon about the state's ability to investigate political crimes.

STORYLINE:
Tens of thousands of Lebanese Christians turned out at a tumultuous rally north of Beirut on Sunday led by an anti-Syrian former warlord, in a show of strength two days after a massive gathering by the rival Muslim Shiite Hezbollah.
The rally, which underscored the continued divisions in Lebanon dating back to the 1975-90 civil war, followed an annual mass to commemorate Christian militiamen killed during the bloody sectarian conflict.
Samir Geagea, the former leader of a Christian militia who was only released from prison last year after serving more than a decade on multiple counts of murder dating to the war, backs the Western-leaning government of Prime Minister Fuad Saniora.
Geagea's supporters, waving his pictures, and white, red and green flags of his Lebanese Forces Party, arrived in buses and cars at the shrine of the Virgin Mary in the town of Harissa, 27 kilometres (17 miles) north of Beirut.
Addressing the cheering crowd, Geagea said "Some people (referring to Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah) said nothing can secure us like the National Unity government, we say before the national unity government we need a National Unity and this unity exists in the Taif accord (1989's treaty signed in Taif, Saudi Arabia and designed to end Lebanese civil war)."
Responding to a speech made by Nasrallah at a rally on Friday in Beirut, where the Hezbollah leader had vowed not to disarm despite international pressure, Geagea said," We say that the gamble of holding on to weapons by force is the wrong one."
The UN-brokered cease-fire that ended the war on August 14 calls for Hezbollah to eventually disarm.
On Friday, Nasrallah also called for the formation of a new government, repeatedly attacking Saniora's administration, which he called weak and unable to protect Lebanon from Israel.
Hezbollah's push for a stronger political role could deepen tensions in a country already sharply divided over the war that killed hundreds of Lebanese.
The Hezbollah group's fight with Israel sent their support soaring among Shiites.
But a large sector, particularly among Christians and Sunni Muslims, opposes Hezbollah and resents it for the war which was provoked by the abduction of two Israeli soldiers on July 12.
He was arrested in April 1994 and his group was banned, after a church bombing killed 10 people.

STORYLINE:
Tens of thousands of flag-waving Lebanese, both Christian and Muslim, poured into the streets on Wednesday to bid farewell to an anti-Syrian critic slain this week in a car bombing.
Mourners marched behind Gibran Tueni's coffin through Beirut, in a massive protest against the Syrian government many blame for his death.
Some shouted "Syria out!" as they marched.
A general strike called in mourning for Tueni - a relentless anti-Syrian campaigner who also was a lawmaker and leading newspaper editor -
was widely followed by banks, businesses and schools, all of which closed their doors.
An outspoken critic of Syria, Tueni was killed by a car bomb on Monday as he was being driven to work through an industrial suburb of Beirut.
He was the fourth anti-Syrian figure to be killed since a series of bombings began in February with the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.
A previously unknown group has claimed responsibility for the blast that killed Tueni, two bodyguards and wounded 30 other people.
But Tueni's colleagues and political allies have blamed Syria.
It has denied involvement.
The protest and funeral was by far the largest gathering since one million people took to Lebanon's streets on March 14, to demand Syria give up its
hold on Lebanon, at the peak of the drive to end Syria's influence.

STORYLINE
Allies and opponents of Syria, both Muslim and Christian from across 14 factions met behind closed doors on Tuesday in Beirut to discuss the assassination of Pierre Gemayel, an anti-Syrian politician and member of Lebanon's most prominent Christian family.
Faris Saied, an ex-Lebanese member of parliament, condemned the killing at the meeting.
"The criminals will pay and all those who cover up for this criminal act. The political terrorism that they stand for is killing Lebanon once again," he said.
Gemayel's fatal shooting is expected to further threaten instability in Lebanon at a time when Hezbollah and other parties allied with Syria are planning a mass wave of street protests unless Prime Minister Fuad Saniora reforms his government to give them more power.
Some anti-Syrian politicians quickly accused Damascus of being involved in the shooting but Syria has denied those claims.
Gemayel's father, current Phalange leader Amin Gemayel, was also present at the meeting.
Amin Gemayel served as Lebanon's president between 1982 and 1988 and his grandfather, the late Pierre Gemayel, led the right-wing Christian Phalanage Party that fielded the largest Christian militia and was allied with Israel during the 1975-90 civil war between Christians and Muslims.
Gemayel is the fifth anti-Syrian figure to be assassinated in the past two years in Lebanon.
Former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri was killed in a massive car bombing in February 2005.
Damascus' opponents in Lebanon have accused Syria of being behind previous assassinations, particularly that of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, who was killed in a massive explosion in downtown Beirut in February 2005.
Syria has denied any role in Hariri's killing.

Lebanese troops moved to downtown Beirut on Sunday to enforce a curfew ahead of a day of demonstrations demanding the withdrawal of 15,000 Syrian troops from Lebanon.
Anti-Syrian protesters vowed to go ahead with planned demonstrations despite a ban by Lebanon''s pro-Damascus government, which threatened to use force to stop rallies from taking place on Monday, setting the stage for confrontations that could inflame tensions further in this country since the February 14 assassination of former premier Rafik Hariri.
Fearing clashes between anti-Syrian opponents and pro-government supporters during two planned Monday demonstrations, Lebanon''s interior minister, Suleiman Franjieh, banned the protests, citing "supreme national
interests and maintaining national peace."
But protestors showed defiance to the ban on Sunday night, marching and chanting anti-Syrian slogans near the the grave where Hariri was buried in downtown Beirut.
"Our demands now are for the Syrian army to leave our country", one protestor said.
Lebanon''s Army Command later issued a statement urging citizens not to demonstrate nor gather anywhere in Beirut, especially in squares and streets surrounding the Parliament building in the capital''s downtown district from 5 a.m. (0300 GMT) Monday.
It mentioned the Martyrs'' Square where Hariri was buried in a grave near a mosque.
However, the anti-Syrian opposition rejected the ban and vowed to go ahead with Monday''s planned protest.

STORYLINE:
A Lebanese cabinet session broke up on Thursday after ministers from the anti-Syrian majority engaged in a heated argument with the pro-Syrian president before walking out, throwing the country into a political crisis and setting back efforts to end tensions that threaten stability.
The break-up of the Cabinet, the country's decision-making body, three minutes after the meeting opened came two days after a spat between President Emile Lahoud and his opponent, Prime Minister Fuad Saniora, at an Arab summit in Sudan.
Apart from paralysing government activity if the boycott of Lahoud continues, the development is certain to set back efforts at reconciling Lebanese factions.
Fourteen faction leaders, Christian and Muslim, pro- and anti-Syrian, have been holding regular "national dialogue" meetings to try to work out differences that threaten to destabilise the country.
The anti-Syrian majority regards Lahoud, whose term in office was extended under Syrian pressure in September 2004, as Syria's man in Lebanon.
He has refused to step down.
The argument on Thursday erupted as photographers and cameramen were allowed in for the usual photo opportunity whilst the ministers took their seats for the regular weekly session.
Video showed Telecommunications Minister Marwan Hamadeh, one of the senior anti-Syrian politicians, stand up to address the president, referring to the Arab summit in Sudan this week.
Lahoud, who was chairing the session, interrupted him to say he could not speak while members of the press were in the room.
"You have no right to speak before the cameramen," Lahoud said.
Hamadeh continued anyway, prompting the president to tell him, "Sit down. You have no right... Are you coming here to make a movie?"
The meeting broke up when ministers from the parliamentary majority, who make up two-thirds of the 24-member Cabinet, walked out.
After the meeting fell apart Lahoud spoke to journalists outside the governmental building in downtown Beirut, accusing the anti-Syrian majority of orchestrating the clash and the walkout in front of the cameras.
"It is shameful what happened today," Lahoud said. "This fictitious majority can do nothing."
Saniora urged calm.
He told reporters afterward, "let us calm down. We all should act in a wise manner in the interest of the country."
Relations between Lebanon and Syria plummeted following the assassination last year of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, which many Lebanese blame on Syria.

STORYLINE:
An anti-Syrian group in Lebanon has criticised the invitation of Syrian President Bashar Assad to France's national holiday celebration in Paris by French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
Assad has been invited to France in July, along with other leaders of Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, including Israel, to discuss Sarkozy's plan for a union of Mediterranean countries.
Inviting Assad is another sign of thawing ties between France and Syria.
Lebanese papers on Friday carried headlines reading: "Paris invites Assad for its national holiday celebrations".
Akram Chehayyeb, a Lebanese member of parliament from the "Democratic gathering bloc" of anti-Syrian legislators, said that "it is still too early for the Syrian chapter to be whitened".
Also on Friday, France's foreign minister said he was uncomfortable that the president of Syria had been invited to Paris's Bastille Day parade, even though such visits are necessary to keep dialogue open.
French-Syrian relations soured after the 2005 assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, a long-time friend of former French President Jacques Chirac.
Many in Lebanon and the West accuse Syria of involvement in Hariri's death, which the Syrian government denies.
But relations between France and Syria have improved lately, with Sarkozy, Chirac's successor, re-establishing dialogue after his election in May 2007.

Donald Trump joined Sean Hannity tonight to discuss President Obama’s announcement yesterday that America would not be changing its strategy to fight the Islamic State.
“That was a terrible performance yesterday and an embarrassment to the country,” said the GOP presidential frontrunner. “I have a feeling that a lot of bad things are gonna happen out of this.”
Trump isn’t alone in this reaction. But he vowed to reverse Obama’s decision to welcome refugees if he is elected president, saying, “If I win, they’re going out.”
The real estate mogul spoke about his strategy to defeat the Islamic State, saying he would “bomb the oil” and target the “crooked banking system” helping sustain the terrorist network.
“I would get everybody together and I’d blast the hell out of them,” Trump declared. “They wouldn’t be there long, believe me.”
He also had a message for members of his own party: “I am more disappointed in the Republicans than the Democrats.”
“Because at least the Democrats, we know where they’re coming from,” he said. “The Republicans have done nothing.”
“Nothing’s happened since we took the Senate,” Trump added. “It’s the same exact story.”

Now, aside from being inaccurate (but really, that’s been kind of Trump’s thing this week), it got a lot of reactions along the lines of “Trump’s a racist.”
Trump appeared on Fox News tonight and Bill O’Reilly actually confronted him over that tweet. He said “this bothered me” and refuted him over the “totally wrong” stats in the tweet.
And the exchange that ensued was, um, quite something:
TRUMP: I didn’t tweet, I retweeted somebody that was supposedly an expert, and it was also a radio show.
O’REILLY: Why do you want to be in that zone?
TRUMP: Hey, Bill, Bill, am I gonna check every statistic? I get millions and millions of people, @RealDonaldTrump, by the way.
O’REILLY: You gotta, you’re a presidential contender, you gotta check ‘em.
TRUMP: I have millions of people… You know what? Fine. But this came out of radio shows and everything else.
O’REILLY: Oh, come on, radio shows?!
TRUMP: All it was was a retweet.
O’Reilly told Trump that putting out things like this easily gives ammo to people accusing him of racism.

bill o'reilly speaks to donald trump on him running for president. tonight in an O'Reilly Factor exclusive, Trump explains why he's the one Americans should trust to right the ship. Billionaire Donald Trump announced today that he's throwing his hat in the ring to run for president. O’Reilly Factor will feature an extensive interview with Trump that is expected to cover a wide variety of topics. And, according to some advance excerpts provided by Fox, Trump is holding nothing back. Trump has nothing nice to say about any of his fellow 2016 candidates, whether they are on the left or right side of the political spectrum.
“Well I don’t have a lot of respect for many of them, but yes I do a couple,” Trump said of the 2016 field, without naming any names. “But I will tell you I’ve been dealing with politicians all my life. They are all talk, no action.” Trump sat down with Bill O'Reilly for his first post-announcement interview and discussed a variety of topics, including how he would defeat ISIS.
"I would find our proper general. I would find the Patton or the MacArthur," Trump said. "I would hit them so hard your head would spin."
Trump also weighed in on the Iran nuclear talks and asserted that the biggest problem the world faces right now is maniacs controlling nuclear weapons.
"Obama wants to play golf instead of deal with people," Trump said. "Part of being a leader is to get everybody in line."
What would you do about Vladimir Putin? O'Reilly asked.
"I would be willing to bet I would have a great relationship with Putin," Trump said, adding that the Russian president has no respect for Obama. "You can't have everybody hating you. The whole world hates us."
O'Reilly noted that during his announcement, Trump promised to build a wall along the southern border and make Mexico pay for it. "The Factor" host stated that there's no way that they will pay for it.
"You have to let me handle that," Trump said. "They will pay for the wall, and the wall will go up. And Mexico will start behaving. Mexico is not our friend."
As for his fellow GOP presidential candidates, Trump said, "I don't have a lot of respect for many of them."
"They're all talk. They're no action. And they're totally controlled by their donors and by the lobbyists ... If we have another politician, this country's going down."
Stay tuned for the video.
On Jeb Bush specifically, Trump added, “I’m not a big fan of Jeb Bush. The last thing we need is another Bush.”
As for Hillary Clinton, Trump said he laughs when he sees her talk about income inequality. “That can be beaten. That can be beaten. All you have to do is take a look at her donor list,” he said, admitting that he could lose the general election for attacking her as a woman. “Maybe I don’t win for that reason,” he said. “But maybe I do.”
But while Trump had plenty of negative things to say about the Americans he is running against, he was surprisingly genial on the topic of Russia President Vladimir Putin.
“Putin has no respect for our president whatsoever. He’s got a tremendous popularity in Russia, they love what he’s doing, they love what he represents,” Trump said. “I was over in Moscow two years ago and I will tell you – you can get along with those people and get along with them well. You can make deals with those people. Obama can’t.”
“I would be willing to bet I would have a great relationship with Putin,” he added. “It’s about leadership.”
Finally, Trump laid out his unique plan to defeat ISIS. “I say that you can defeat ISIS by taking their wealth,” he said. “Take back the oil. Once you go over and take back that oil they have nothing. You bomb the hell out of them and then you encircle it, and then you go in. And you let Mobil go in, and you let our great oil companies go in. Once you take that oil they have nothing left.”
“I would hit them so hard,” he continued. “I would find you a proper general, I would find the Patton or MacArthur I would hit them so hard your head would spin.”
“There’s nobody bigger or better at the military than I am,” Trump declared with typical understatement.
We will post the full video of O’Reilly’s interview with Trump as soon as it becomes available.

Republican presidential contender Donald Trump joined Bret Baier on "Special Report" tonight and continued his tough talk on illegal immigration.
Baier pointed out that deporting millions of people, as Trump has promised, would be logistically very difficult and extremely expensive.
"They're here illegally. They have to go back," Trump stated.
Baier pointed out that in 2012 Trump criticized Mitt Romney's self-deportation plan as "crazy" and "too mean-spirited."
"I said it was crazy because it doesn't work," Trump said, explaining that he doesn't believe illegal immigrants will voluntarily leave. "I criticized it because it's something that doesn't work."
So your deportation plan is not mean-spirited? Baier pressed.
"I don't think it's mean-spirited. Mine is not mean-spirited," Trump said. "It's business. We have a country. You don't have a country if people are allowed to walk in, cross the border and stay here for as long as they want. You don't have a country."

Donald Trump returned to Fox News tonight, effectively ending his boycott of the network, and faced a somewhat combative Bill O’Reilly, who told him he needs to be more “mature.” After O’Reilly had on two contributors critical of Trump, The Donald lashed out on Twitter, called him “negative,” and told him to stop having “Trump haters” on. This and other less-than-glowing coverage led Trump to announce a Fox News boycott that started last week and ended today. O’Reilly’s criticized Trump since then, but when Trump ended his boycott tonight, Trump immediately told O’Reilly he’s always considered him a fair person. The first segment was solely policy-focused, but the second segment was all about Trump’s relationship with the press and O’Reilly specifically. O’Reilly asked, “Am I fair to say that in order for you to win the Republican nomination that you’re going to have to change your style and be a bit kinder and more mature?”
Donld Trump sat with Bill O'Reilly Tonight ending his boycott on fox news. Bill O'Reilly asked Donald Trump tonight about his policy positions, including how he would deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russia's growing presence in Syria. Trump said that in terms of leadership, he would give Putin an 'A,' while Obama isn't doing very well. He said that the U.S. invested trillions of dollars and thousands of American lives in the Middle East, and Putin is now taking over what we started. "He, frankly, wants to fight ISIS, and I think that's a wonderful thing," Trump said. "If he wants to fight ISIS, let him fight ISIS. Why do we always have to do everything?" O'Reilly said the downside of Putin fighting ISIS is that Russia will keep Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in power and then effectively control Syria. "We have given the Middle East to Putin and Iran, and they will run it for the foreseeable future," O'Reilly said. "I believe that's true," Trump said, pointing to incompetent U.S. leadership. Watch more from the "Factor" interview above.
Bill O'Reilly asked Donald Trump tonight about how he's treated by the media and what changes he might have to make to his public persona to secure the GOP nomination. O'Reilly acknowledged that Trump won't get a "fair shake" from the mainstream media, but he asked if Trump needs to change his style and become "a bit kinder and more mature." Trump disagreed with the word "mature," and said the 2016 isn't about being nice, but who's the most competent candidate. O'Reilly noted that Trump recently called his fellow GOP contender Marco Rubio a "clown" and said that type of name-calling isn't presidential. Trump said he's a counter-puncher and he simply reacted when Rubio attacked him on his policies. "He was a member of the gang of eight, which was a disaster, he was totally weak on immigration and, by the way, he hasn't changed," Trump said of the Florida senator. "That's fine," O'Reilly said. "It's the 'clown' stuff that's not fine."
"Well, OK, I can understand that," Trump replied.

Donald Trump hit back at his critics on "Media Buzz" today, saying that he "can't apologize" for making truthful statements about illegal immigrants and Mexico. Howard Kurtz asked the 2016 presidential candidate if he will apologize for the controversial statements he made about illegal immigrants and Mexico.
"I don't have to say that," Trump replied. "In terms of the border, it's a disgrace. Either we have a border or we don't have a country."
"I can never apologize for the truth, I don't mind apologizing for things, but I can't apologize for the truth," he added. "I said tremendous crime is coming across, everybody knows that's true, and it's happening all the time." Trump proclaimed that he's not a racist.
"I'm number two and I'm going up, people take me very seriously," Trump stated. "Frankly, I'm the one that's going to bring back health to the country. I'm going to make America great again; politicians aren't going to do that."
Trump said that he thinks his poll numbers will increase, because some Americans agree with his stance on immigration.

Anti-ISIS group posts video that allegedly shows militants murdering 200 Syrian children
If true, it is an ISIS slaughter of children on an epic scale.
Footage of Islamic State militants purportedly mass murdering 200 Syrian kids was posted online Monday by anti-ISIS group based in Yemen.
Believed to have been filmed in August 2014 when ISIS captured the Tabqa airbase from Syrian government forces, it shows the militants mowing down the helpless children with machine guns as they lay on the ground with their faces in the dirt.
As the gunmen fire at point blank range, dust rises around them like apparitions during the 30-seconds of slaughter.
ISIS apparently recorded the massacre to be used for propaganda purposes — and it was not the first time the Muslim fanatics mimicked the Nazis, who used similar tactics to wipe out thousands of Jews, Poles and others they deemed undesirable during World War II.

The ISIS butchers slaughtered 1,700 captured Iraqi cadets last year after forcing one last humiliation on them by making them jog through the desert in their underwear.
Meanwhile in Afghanistan, local terrorists allied with ISIS demonstrated the group’s other signature brand of brutality in Afghanistan by lining-up four men, two women and defenseless child — and chopping off their heads.
All were members of a long-oppressed ethnic Shiite minority called the Hazara, Afghan officials confirmed Monday.
Afghanistan’s President Ashraf Ghani said he was “profoundly saddened” by the killings and vowed to punish the culprits.

ISIS, which currently holds large swaths of Iraqi and Syrian territory, has been out-terrorizing the Taliban since it began infiltrating the eastern provinces of Afghanistan in October 2014, U.S. officials have said.
Some local militant Islamic groups that normally would have turned to the Taliban, which has been riven by factional fighting, have sworn allegiance to ISIS instead, they said.
Two months ago, ISIS-allied militants reportedly executed 10 civilians in the Nangarhar province by positioning them over an explosive device — then detonating it.

Technological and social developments, often driven by government communication and espionage networks, have increased the speed with which news can spread, as well as influenced its content. The genre of news as we know it today is closely associated with the newspaper, which originated in China as a court bulletin and spread, with paper and printing press, to Europe. The development of the electric telegraph in the mid-19th century revolutionized news by enabling nearly instantaneous transmissions, and by empowering a cartel of news agencies which consolidated the world news system. MOSCOW — Russia has sent anti-aircraft missiles to Syria in order to safeguard its jets involved in airstrikes against militants in the war-battered Arab country, the commander of the Russian Air Force was quoted as saying Thursday.
Russia has been carrying out airstrikes on Islamic State fighters in Syria since the end of September at the request of President Bashar Assad, Russia’s long-term ally.
Russian officials have insisted that their military involvement in Syria will be limited to an air force operation.
Col. Gen. Viktor Bondarev said in an interview with the daily Komsomolskaya Pravda that the anti-aircraft missiles are there to project Russian fighter jets from a possible attack or hijack while on mission.
“There can be different emergencies, such as hijacking the jet on the territory of a neighboring country or an attack on it,” he said. “We should be prepared for that.”
Bondarev did not specify the type of missiles Russia provided.
Russia and Western nations have been engaged in intense diplomatic talks in the past few weeks, aiming to bring about a political settlement in Syria, which has been torn by a civil war since 2011 that has killed 250,000 people and forced millions to flee.
A Russian deputy foreign minister said earlier this week that Moscow is aiming to host a round of talks between Syrian officials and opposition leaders next week. He said the Syrian government has agreed to participate but it’s unclear which opposition groups might come.

Syrian, Jets under Fire from Anti Aircraft Weapons in Syria
Syria | Rebels tried to shoot down a Syrian fighter but they were bombarded with too precision.
Insurgent commanders say that since Russia began air attacks in support of the Syrian government, they are receiving for the first time bountiful supplies of powerful American-made antitank missiles.
With the enhanced insurgent firepower and with Russia steadily raising the number of airstrikes against the government’s opponents, the Syrian conflict is edging closer to an all-out proxy war between the United States and Russia.
The increased levels of support have raised morale on both sides of the conflict, broadening war aims and hardening political positions, making a diplomatic settlement all the more unlikely.
The American-made TOW antitank missiles began arriving in the region in 2013, through a covert program run by the United States, Saudi Arabia and other allies to help certain C.I.A.-vetted insurgent groups battle the Syrian government.
The weapons are delivered to the field by American allies, but the United States approves their destination. That suggests that the newly steady battlefield supply has at least tacit American approval, now that Russian air power is backing President Bashar al-Assad.
“We get what we ask for in a very short time,” one commander, Ahmad al-Saud, said in an interview. He added that in just two days his group, Division 13, had destroyed seven armored vehicles and tanks with seven TOWs: “Seven out of seven.”
Spirits are rising on the government side as well. Weapons and morale are “at a new level,” said an official with the newly revived alliance of Russia, Iran and the Lebanese Shiite militia Hezbollah that is fighting on the behalf of Damascus.
Instead of a dim light at the end of a tunnel, the official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss military matters, the alliance is seeking something closer to victory. The aim now is to retake Syrian land that had been given up for lost, take the ouster of Mr. Assad off the table for good and reach a far more advantageous political solution after establishing “new facts on the ground.”
But as Russian airstrikes against Syrian insurgents have picked up, so have insurgent attacks, documented in online videos. TOW missiles weave across fields, their red contrails blazing, chasing Russian-made vehicles used by Syrian government forces and blowing them up.
At least 34 such videos have been posted in just the last five days from the battlefield in Hama and Idlib Provinces, where TOWs have helped blunt the Syrian government’s first ground offensive backed by Russian air power.

Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the ongoing anti-terror operation in Syria during an interview with Russian journalist Vladimir Solovyov in Sochi, Sunday.
SOT, Vladimir Putin, Russian President (Russian): "If we speak about the military component, we tell our partners, when we hear them blaming us for our strikes not hitting ISIS or other terrorist organisations like Jabhat al-Nusra and others, but the allied part of the opposition so to speak. And we told them: If you know the situation on the ground better than we do as you have been there for more than a year - unlawfully, but still you are present there - if you know better, though I doubt it but let's say, give us the targets. We will work on them."
SOT, Vladimir Solovyov, journalist (Russian): "Have they declined?"
SOT, Vladimir Putin, Russian President (Russian): "Yes, they declined. They said 'No, we will not be working on this level', it is not clear why. If they really know better and want to fight terrorism, tell us the direct locations where the terrorists are sheltering, where they have command points, ammunition depots and equipment, give us the targets. What could be easier? But so far we haven't reached such level of joint work, but I'd like to repeat that the first steps in establishing the contacts on the military level have been made."

Ruptly will be LIVE from the Hmeymim Air Base near Latakia on Wednesday, November 4, as Russian fighter jets conduct sorties against the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) and other militant targets in Syria.
Russia began conducting airstrikes in Syria since September 30, after the Syrian government officially requested Russian aid.

Around 30,000 people are expected to rally in the southwestern city of Katowice, in Poland, on September 26, against pro-refugee policies and the alleged “Islamic flooding” of Poland.
The protesters claim that the majority of refugees from the Middle East and North Africa are economic migrants and condemn the Polish government’s decision to accept 2,000 refugees from Syria and North Africa by 2017.
Similar rallies, organised by far-right group All Polish Youth, are expected to take place across Poland on the same day.

Syria's ever changing battle lines have become even more complex since Russian airstrikes began two weeks ago.
The Kremlin says the airstrikes have intensifed this week.
They appear to have provided the Syrian government an opportunity to start a new ground offensive.
Thousands of Iranian troops have reportedly been drafted in to fight alongside Syrian government and Hezbollah forces.
Syrian opposition fighters say they're ready for the fight after being resupplied with US made anti-tank missiles to help turn the tide against the Syrian regime.
So, is the tug of war over Syria heating up between Russia and the US?
Will it lead to resolution or deeper conflict?

Syrian Civil War 2014 - Heavy Fighting As Free Syrian Army Launches Suprise Attack In Darayya |Syria War. Syrian Rebels from the Shuhada Al-Islam Brigade launched an attack on government held positions in the southern area of Darayya.
Their goal is to advance towards Damascus, and to break the siege on Darayya.
The rebels claim that they managed to clean several positions from regime presence including killing some higher ranked officers and also to have captured small ammunition depots in the area.
After the ongoing clashes the Free Syrian Army also announced they were able to advance and take over large areas in the Eastern area close to Kafrsousseh.
Due to the rebels among the gained area are also strategic spots that the Syrian government used to launch its operations against Western Al Ghouta, in addition to a large number of buildings in the Southern area close to Sahnaya.
According to the Video the rebels managed to sneak on very close to Army held buildings and using an suprise attack to take out government forces without facing much resistance. This is an indicator for an well planned suprise attack.
Darayya is a Syrian city administratively belonging to Rif Dimashq. It has been one of the oldest cities in Syria, known for being the place where Paul the Apostle had his conversion (30s AD), "on Damascus road". The city has a population of 75,134 as of 2004, making it the 19th largest city per geographical entity in Syria. It is sometimes regarded as a suburb of Damascus.
Darayya has seen heavy fighting during the Syrian Civil War. The city was an early hotspot for anti-government protests. The city fell to anti-government militants from the Al-Qaeda-affiliated group Jabhat al-Nusra and some point in the first half of 2012, and was re-captured twice by the Syrian army and other pro-government forces: first at in the end of August 2012, often refered to as the Darayya massacre, and a second time on 4 January 2013.
