In Alexandria, Egypt's second largest city, protesters stormed the headquarters of Mr Morsi's Muslim Brotherhood party throwing chairs and books into the street and setting them on fire. Police fired tear gas on crowds gathered in Tahrir Square, in Cairo, the scene of the violent clashes during the overthrow of the former president, Hosni Mubarak. The Daily News Egypt reported injuries in cities across the country as violent clashes broke out between protesters and Mr Morsi's supporters, who according to reports on Twitter, were being bussed in to counter the dissenters.

www.euronews.com European leaders have called off talks in Brussels over the long-term EU budget. Negotiations to agree the bloc's finances for the 2014-2020 period have broken up without agreement. Officials say most countries rejected calls for deeper spending cuts demanded by the UK and its allies. British Prime Minister David Cameron also presented a paper showing how Brussels could slash around 6 billion euros from its staff bill. France had called for some countries to pay more. Budget negotiations are always difficult but commentators say the eurozone's current debt crisis has made the talks even more bitter. Meetings to agree the seven year budget, worth around a billion euros, will continue in the new year. Find us on: Youtube bit.ly Facebook www.facebook.com Twitter twitter.com

For downloads and more info visit: www.journeyman.tv This powerful exclusive is the first film to access the Free Syrian Army's secret labyrinth of caves and also holds a rare interview with the FSA leader. A fascinating insight to how the battle for Syria is being fought. "Please don't film!" one fighter says, as two rebels argue in the pitch black over the presence of a journalist. In this increasingly violent war the rebels have been using their local knowledge to great advantage. And these 3000 year old caves are of huge strategic importance. "The army besieged us many times and we always slipped through." But local knowledge will only go so far and the rebels are hard pressed to counter the might of the Syrian army with limited resources. As one failed test run of a home-made mortar shows, they don't have much to work with. They are disheartened by months of fighting without help. "America and Europe hide behind the Russian veto. They lie to us." Even the head of the Free Syrian Army, Colonel Riad al-Assad, is unable to help. As rebel groups come to him for guidance he can only encourage coordination. When asked about the suicide bomb that killed the minister of defence he says, "This is an integral part of the revolutionary action. It could break the regime's back." As things get increasingly desperate, anything that hastens the end of the bloodshed in Syria will form a part of their strategy. SBS
