Masonry Block Fill, Core Fill, Mortar Pumping, Grout Pumping, AIRPLACO PumpMaster
The Airplaco PumpMasterTM PG-25 grout pump is shown on a condo development jobsite where it is used to pump mortar to the scaffolds for laying block and to pump mortar for filling cells in the block walls. On this particular job, the contractor used two pumps working in tandem to deliver mortar to the elevation and distance needed. One pump on the ground is filled with mortar batched on site. This material is pumped to a second floor into a second pump. This pump delivers the mortar over the majority of the distance to the top floor and several feet across to fill cells in the cmu (concrete masonry units) aka blocks! www.airplaco.com The PumpMaster fills block without the need of a forklift or full-size concrete pump. The Airplaco PG-25 provides an option for block fill contractors. It saves a lot of labor and equipment that is needed in traditional methods of filling block, says Tom Norman, Airplaco Product Manager. •50 ft vertical pumping •200 ft horizontal pumping •max aggregate size is 3/8 inch minus •Output is 6 cu yd /hr •5 inch hard-chrome material cylinder •3 inch ball check manifold •3 inch grooved outlet •5 cu ft hopper •25 hp gas engine (key start) •hydraulic drive train •Pea-Rock Discharge •Wireless remote optional •Auxiliary hydraulics optional Performance will vary depending on power unit, hydraulic pressure, cycle rate, mix design and placement line. Consult Airplaco for appropriate mix designs. Masonry Block Fill Grout Pump Model PG-25 is the ideal machine ...

Lime Mortar Experiment (Masonry Repair Pt 1)
This video recorded while I was on "Introduction to Masonry Repairs in Traditional Buildings (P1)" by the Scottish Lime Centre. This is an experiment to work out exactly how much binder you need to use to completely fill the air voids in the particular sand that you are using. Normally a 3:1 ratio is what you use = three buckets of sand to one bucket of binder is enough, because 33% of the sand is air pockets. But sometimes it can be as much as 60%. How do you know? You do this experiment. We were taught to do this in the lime mortar workshop held in Scotland. Is it important? If you are using cement mortar its not that important because its so strong. However, if you are using lime as your binder and you want your work to last hundreds of years, it is. It also shows you how to mix a large quantity of mortar by hand without breaking your back. www.scotlime.org
