a lot of corruption involved in Rootbrians building! news.nationalpost.com Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC; commonly called TCHC) is a public housing agency in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and is the second-largest housing provider in North America.[1] TCHC is the amalgamation of three housing organizations in Toronto following the downloading of housing to municipalities by the provincial government. These were Metropolitan Toronto Housing Company the short-lived new name of Metropolitan Toronto Housing Authority (MTHA) the provincial housing agency, and Toronto Housing Company (TCH) which comprised Metropolitan Toronto Housing Company and City Homes the two city housing agencies. MTHA was created by Metropolitan Toronto in 1954 to deal with housing for the poor and to eliminate the slums in Old Toronto and adjacent suburbs. In 2002 four years after the amalgamation of Toronto, it merged with other public housing providers to form the TCHC, which is one of the largest public housing providers in North America. In October 2008, TCHC was named one of "Canada's Top 100 Employers" by Mediacorp Canada Inc., and was featured in Maclean's news magazine. Later that month, TCHC was also named one of Greater Toronto's Top Employers, which was announced by the Toronto Star newspaper.[2] On April 8, 2010, TCHC tenants between the ages of 14 to 28 years of age went to the polls to vote in the inaugural youth tenant election at locations across the city. Over a two year term ...

G20 Toronto - The Fight For Civil Rights
Written by Dan Dicks On Saturday July 10th I attended a rally at Queens Park to join the people of Toronto in demanding a public inquiry into the police tactics during the G20 summit weekend. I met a lot of patriotic Canadians who told me their stories of how their rights and civil liberties were violated by the police. As the weeks move on more and more stories from victims of the police state are coming to light and more videos are beginning to provide evidence that the black block were given a green light to terrorise the city while police stood idly by. I posed this scenario to the panellists on an MTV program titled "Impact" and asked them for their views on the idea of undercover police officers being used as agent provocateurs in order to initiate the violence at an otherwise peaceful protest. One panellist responded quickly with the word "Montebello" which tells me that a lot of people are aware that the Canadian Government was caught red handed doing this before in Montebello Quebec at the SPP summit in 2007. I produced a film called "The Nation's Deathbed" which details the events that transpired at the SPP summit in Montebello and how the Quebec police had undercover officers dressed as aggressive protesters whose jobs were to be agent provocateurs. www.pressfortruth.ca Knowing that the Canadian government was capable of doing this again at the G20 summit in Toronto, I asked Constable George Tucker (who is in charge of the Toronto Police Unit and is working ...

Discover Canada - Toronto (Ontario)
T oronto is the largest city in Canada and the provincial capital of Ontario. It is located in Southern Ontario on the northwestern shore of Lake Ontario. Toronto is a relatively modern city. Its history begins in the late 18th century, when the British Crown purchased its land from the Mississaugas of the New Credit. The British established a settlement there, called the Town of York, which its lieutenant governor, John Graves Simcoe, designated as the capital of Upper Canada. The city was ransacked in the Battle of York during the War of 1812. In 1834, York was incorporated as a city and renamed Toronto. It was damaged in two huge fires, in 1849 and 1904. Over the years, Toronto has several times expanded its borders through amalgamation with surrounding municipalities, most recently in 1998. The city has 2.6 million residents, according to the 2011 Census. It is currently the fifth most populous city in North America. The census metropolitan area (CMA) had a population of 5583064, and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) had a population of 6054191 in the 2011 Census. Toronto is at the heart of the Greater Toronto Area, and of the densely populated region in Southern Ontario known as the Golden Horseshoe. Its cosmopolitan and international population reflects its role as an important destination for immigrants to Canada. Toronto is one of the world's most diverse cities by percentage of non-native-born residents, with about 49% of the population born outside Canada. As ...

A History of Toronto #17: Reclaiming the Waterfront
Toronto moves south into the Lake and Union Station is built becoming the busiest transportation hub in Canada. The waterfront is developed and as more land is reclaimed, Redpath Sugar opens a refinery taking advantage of the newly opened St. Lawrence Seaway and the larger ships that can now reach Toronto's port lands. The CN Tower is built and Toronto the Mega City is born. See the Toronto 175 category at www.ontopoftheworld.net for more episodes.

Press For Truth Arrested While Reporting On The G20 Summit
weavingspider — May 05, 2010 — On Sunday May 2nd I went to 4 different locations to report on the upcoming G20 summit along with PFT members Bryan Law and Steve Davies. We visited the Metro Toronto Convention Center (site of the summit), Trinity Bellwoods Park (designated free speech zone) The Toronto Film Studios (temporary holding facility for arrests made during the G20) and also the Financial District. While shooting footage for our report in the financial district camera man and PFT reporter Bryan Law was approached by private security who asked for his ID even though he was on a public sidewalk and was doing nothing illegal. When Bryan refused to submit his identification Toronto Police were called and Bryan was placed under arrest and illegally searched and detained under the pretext of heightened security due to the upcoming G20 summit. Under the Canadian Charter Of Rights And Freedoms we have freedom of the press (section 2) freedom from arbitrary detainment (section 9) and rights from unreasonable search and seizure (section 8) all of which were violated by the Toronto Police force. We live in a country where you do not have to submit your identification to police when you have done nothing illegal. In countries like China and Columbia you must submit your papers upon request but this is Canada and we are protected under the Canadian Constitution against tyrannical tactics of fear and submission...or at least I thought we were. Press For Truth will be taking the ...

Joe Pantalone's I Love Toronto Film Festival Presents: Sustainable Neighbourhoods
Joe speaks about his love for Toronto and his contributions to building vibrant neighbourhoods through public-private community partnerships: As City Councillor for the Trinity Spadina neighbourhood, Joe helped - Revitalize the Trinity Community Recreation Centre facilities and provide green energy sources amidst a time of amalgamation budget cuts. - Enhance Trinity Bellwoods Park into a beloved park enjoyed by residents, tourists and community groups. - Nurtured the growth of Queen West into a vibrant arts and local retail scene - Relocated the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art into the neighbourhood to better complement the busting arts community in Trinity Bellwoods. - Facilitated ongoing construction and vitalization of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health into an innovative mixed use and environmental community space. Volcano Playground [ Program ]---Waiting
the band change the name and is now Program www.facebook.com a music video made by Maciej Piatek. Volcano Playground is the group formed in November 2008 as an experiment, not foreseeing that a band would soon form. Trying to decide what style of music to create, what timbres to sing, which lengths of time to dance in, or whether or not computers can really be trusted are all daunting tasks. This band remains in avoidance of all boundary based logic whenever possible, an important feat for a sonically nesting band striving for post-modernism. "It's spacey shoe-gazing for a diorama of celestial cutouts clad in aluminum, creaking on a string, foam planets and candy-coloured rocket ships." (William McGuirk - Whitby/Oshawa This Week). Volcano Playground is an amalgamation of three suburban Toronto musical acts, The Recroom, Thee Side Project, and Antique Toys all hailing from the Whitby/Oshawa music community. "Waiting", the new EP was self-released by the band in September 2009 to much positive review. ("This is a band that makes music on their own terms, pushing the sonic horizons of swirly shoegaze lushness with somber dream-pop. Embracing the past and sculpting it as their own unique musical vision."(Lonely Vagabond). On the strength of the EP as a demo, VP is currently working hard to find its place within the Canadian music market. Starting with shows in and around Toronto, the group works to popularize its name and sound via word of mouth. And with digital promotion at ...

Celebrating the Creation of Sorauren Park
The Roncesvalles-McDonnell Residents Association celebrated the founding of Sorauren Park (289 Sorauren Avenue in Toronto) on September 12, 2009 . On September 17, 1995 the city of Toronto opened up the green space on what had been at different times an industrial site and a municipal storage facility since the beginning of the last century. The creation of the park came about because of community grassroots action. Please join in for the celebration. Former mayor Barbara Hall, under whose administration Sorauren Park became a reality, is the featured speaker. Also in attendance will be former city councillor Chris Korwin-Kuczynski, current councillor Gord Perks, and school trustee Irene Atkinson. Contact Paul Weinberg at 416-533-2428 for further details Chronology of events: Walking around Sorauren Park with its soccer matches, baseball games, tennis and various festivals, it is easy to forget that the park is a recent creation born out of community action. We have gathered today to celebrate the founding of the park and the grassroots that made it possible. Before it was transformed into green space on September 17, 1995, the land at 289 Sorauren Avenue had been a hub at various times of industrial activity, storage and even film-making. Up to the Second World War, Dominion Bridge owned the property and used it to assemble bridges which were then shipped along a spur line across the city to their final locations where they were set up to replace level crossings where ...

You're fired - Amalgamation Blues (Dogs & Sheep mix)
A clip featuring a song and dedicated to anyone who's been hit with a company merger or amalgamation. Often you are left out in the cold or doing the work of others left out in the cold. Keith thinks this song works even if you haven't been laid off actually. You could sub the word "amalgamation" with almost anything that represents your particular challenge. Keith lost the bed tracks for this song on a hard drive crash (oh yeah, he backs up everything many times now) so he couldn't really finish this one off beyond this demo. Jamie and Keith did try to do a version for Happy Accident but got sidetracked with their newer material. Still, some day the duo may bring it to an album. Karl Marx said the quote at the end of the clip and even if you don't believe in Marx, you might believe in the quote.

Independent Apostolic Ministries International: IAM International is not a "church", we are a network of Holy Ghost, on- fire evangelists, planting and watering His Church throughout the world!! We are only able to do this through your love offerings. In 2008, Dan & Lynda held 2 "Fan the Flames" conferences in Jacksonville and 2 internationally. These conferences are to stir up the Body of Christ corporately and individually to fulfill their God- given destiny to take territory for the Kingdom of God! We partner with many ministries, each with their own giftings and callings- to ignite the miraculous and destroy the kingdom of darkness! Glory to God!!! ?Fan the Flames # 3? about " Doin' the Stuff" was held in January '09 in Jacksonville. What stuff? The stuff in the Book, as John Wimber used to say. Prophet Chuck Pierce prophesied that by January '09, Jacksonville would be encircled by fire and be known as a national healing center! We had an awesome time in the unity of the Spirit, with many healings- spiritually, emotionally and physically. It was held at Bryce and Tammy Perry's new church called the Gathering Jacksonville. We enjoyed the participation of many on-fire ministries, such as Gyland Ministries, Bride of Christ (Callahan Fl.), Cornerstone, the Gathering Jacksonville, Hot Pursuit, Mighty Wind Ministry Intl., New Covenant Ministries, River of Life Christian Fellowship, Ring of Fire and many others. Our aim is to fan the flame of the Holy Ghost arsonists of this city! II Tim. 1: 6 + 7 Amplified Bible states that we must stir up the gifts, rekindle the fire and fan the flames that are in us. We have received the Spirit of power, love and soundness of mind, to do our part in helping bring revival to our city! The seven-fold vision of this conference was to train believers how to do the stuff Jesus commanded us to do: to equip the saints to win souls, lead others through the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, bring healing and deliverance to those held captive, move in the Gifts and in the prophetic song, and learn to hear clearly from Heaven! Thank You, Jesus! God wants to use little ol' me's and you's for His glory! We know God desires to multiply the miracles here at the Gateway City, as Jax used to be called. Our God answers prayer and there is nothing too difficult for Him! Call 904-646-2667 for info about how to host a Fan the Flames conference in your church. Hallelujah! God's people are on the offensive and we're recovering ALL! Wake up the mighty men & women! It's time to go to war!!!! Dan & Lynda have received impartations from our Lord Jesus Christ through Dr. Rodney Howard- Brown, Reinhard Bonnke, Fresh Fire, T.D. Jakes, the Arnotts of Toronto Airport Church, Benny Hinn, Cindy Jacobs, Chuck Pierce, Dutch Sheets and many others. We preached revival in Jacksonville last year in the open air and at many churches including: Bride of Christ, Abba's Place, the Gathering Jax, New Covenant, the First Coast National Day of Prayer, Northeast Florida State Hospital, Lawtey Correctional Institution, and by TV on our show with many amazing guests. "Fan the Flames Philippines" took place in August '08 and '09. We went as the key speakers to Dipolog City, Philippines to large conferences of pastors, Bible School students and youth leaders hungry for revival. We visited orphanages and preached in evangelistic crusades to reach the lost. Cindy Jacobs prophesied over this area that it would spread the fire of revival all over the Philippines, and we thank God for the privilege of being able to freely give what we have received. Fuego!!!! Our daughter Brooke ( our IAM Vice- President from Australia ) assisted in '08 and got married in Australia '09! Rev. Simbran has planted 172 churches already in Mindanao Island, where there are many Muslims! His goal is to plant 10 churches per year. "Fan the Flames Ghana" took place in November '08. We went to West Africa to encourage leaders of our I AM International church plants ( over 100) there. Here at home, we continue to hold monthly gatherings of the saints at our condo clubhouse. If you want to experience more of God's wonderful presence, you are welcome to attend. Let us know if you need further info, and we love you all. God is GREAT!!! And His plans and purposes shall stand for us all, in Jesus' mighty Name! Amen and amen!!! You can view some of our local and international " Fan the Flames" conferences on www.myhwntv.com. Click on the link for " watch Online" and go to " Ministries". Also, our new website for http://www.IAMInternational.org will have them available for viewing soon. We have been invited to many nations this year, but due to the expenses and time involved in travel, we are waiting and listening about what to do next. Stay tuned! We may be coming to an area near you! Pleas

Short visit of Toronto (Canada)
(EN) Toronto (/tɵˈrɒntoʊ/, locally /ˈtrɒnoʊ/) is the largest city in Canada and the provincial capital of Ontario. It is located in Southern Ontario on the northwestern shore of Lake Ontario. A relatively modern city, Toronto's history dates back to the late 18th century, when its land was first purchased by the British Crown from the Mississaugas of the New Credit. The settlement was later established as the Town of York and proclaimed as the new capital of Upper Canada by its lieutenant governor, John Graves Simcoe. In 1834, York was incorporated as a city and renamed to its present name. The city was ransacked in the Battle of York during the War of 1812 and damaged in two great fires in 1849 and in 1904. Since its incorporation, Toronto has repeatedly expanded its borders through amalgamation with surrounding municipalities, most recently in 1998. The city has 2.6 million residents, according to the 2011 Census. It is currently the fifth most populous city in North America. The census metropolitan area (CMA) had a population of 5583064, and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) had a population of 6054191 in the 2011 Census. Toronto is at the heart of the Greater Toronto Area, and the densely populated region in Southern Ontario known as the Golden Horseshoe. Its cosmopolitan and international population reflects its role as an important destination for immigrants to Canada.[5] Toronto is one of the world's most diverse cities by percentage of non-native-born residents, with ...

Skypod view of The Clamshell (Toronto City Hall) NuitBlanche
The view of The Clamshell aka Toronto City Hall from the Skypod atop the CNTower, and thoughts on rotating the regular month end sitting of Toronto City Council from always being downtown at The Clamshell to sitting in each the pre-amalgamation cities' civic centres which make up Megacity Toronto today. When we take Scarborough, North York and Etobicoke into consideration, we could rotate the sitting of Toronto City Council for 3 days a month relatively easily. It helps residents in those ends of the city far and inconvenient to downtown's Current Clamshell location find accessing their elected civic government leaders a little bit easier. It should also provide a much needed city-wide perspective to councillors who rarely venture out from their wards and downtown to at the very least the ares surrounding the three other megacity civic centres. More on this in a future video podcast. Stay Tuned. ~ HiMY! ~
