Track 01 taken from the second album of the band No place for disgrace by Flotsam and Jetsam Eric A. Knudtsen - vocals Ed Carlson - guitars Kelly David-Smith - drums Michael Gilbert - guitars Troy Gregory - bass guitars Lyrics: Far to the east ruled the Samurai, mystic warrior class, Honorable brave, bark armoured man, donning hideous mask. 700 years of reigning Japan, the masters of attack, Dominators of the isle of dragons, fearsom military caste. In battle no prisoners for the enemy, noble self-sacrifice, Crooked crowns sentenced to die, pay the bloody price. Sacred rites held close by the fighters, no place for disgrace, Taught to stand with dignity while staring in death's face. chorus: Honor even in death, soldiers glorified, The dagger plunges deep, slashes side to side. Honor even in death, digrace is defied, The end they never fear, give their life before their pride. Honor even in death, soldiers glorified, The dagger plunges deep, slashes side to side. Honor even in death, digrace is defied, The end they never fear, give their life before their pride. Gracefully, with steady hand, He takes the dagger that lays before him. Collects his thoughts for the last time, And plunges the dirge from left to right. No sign of pain on his face, With the final cut withdraws the blade. Loyal companion by his side, Lifts the sword to help him die. Lightning flash, one swift blow, Honor is done, warriors head rolls. In a mans glory, his spirit is stored, his very being inside ...

FLOTSAM AND JETSAM - Wading through the Darkness
from the album "Cuatro" (MCA Records 1992) Put a gun to my head The storm's too deep outlook dead Handing down that anger Nothing good ever lasts Moody violence Now a fool in my eyes What's the answer, I'll search till I die Try a little harder I hear myself say Make it last before it's taken away Wading through the darkness My head held in my hands Wading through the darkness Forced to forget this anguish I'm half of what I used to be Erase my memory Now gone forever goodbye But I know my memories won't die Wading through the darkness My head held in my hands Wading through the darkness Dead inside with a heart that bleeds Relax my tension needs Tightness suffocates Too dense to focus I'll see it through the day No longer churning inside Rotted memories inhabit my mind My rage destroys the calm Destroys the calm Wading through the darkness My head held in my hands Wading through the darkness

The island where everything washes up To see more go to www.youtube.com Follow us on Facebook (goo.gl or Twitter (www.twitter.com On the island of Texel the strangest things wash up on the shore. From a flood of messages in bottles to a shipload of fur coats, a combination of location and tides means the islanders have seen it all. "I've got more than 500 bottles with letters in them", 83 year-old local man Cor Ellen tells us. A unique combination of winds, tidal systems and geography means that over 2 tonnes of flotsam and jetsam washes up on to the coast of Texel Island every day. This charming film follows the extraordinary day-to-day lives of the quirky beach combers, who have built their lives around what gets washed up on their shores. February 2012

Flotsam and Jetsam - Suffer The Masses
Flotsam and Jetsam - Suffer The Masses
Flotsam and Jetsam are a 60's folk group from Southern Ireland. They are best known for their release "Trousers and Biscuits" - a mid-tempo love song about two Christian paraplegic milkmen. Once discovered by the mainstream, Flotsam quickly changed their sound to "Electronica", and their tempo to a "delightful prance". They quickly became the world leader in Irish Electronica and lead the Saudi charts in both "Adult Contemporary" and "Oldies". In the 70's came the death of accordionist and trumpetier Miff Hamilsky, who was replaced by Margaret Minnows on the English horn. The sound took a turn for the worse, and Flotsam was barely selling out Pubs and Hootenannies. In the 80's, the entire band was slaughtered, and new members Jason Newstead and Eric AK, among others, took the bodies of the past members and began playing them. The sound was fresh - just what the metal world was looking for, and soon the new "Flotsam and Jetsam" helped hearald an emerging genre called thrash metal. The critics were nonexistant, because, to play thrash metal meant to play from the heart. And to play from the heart meant to go unappreciated by the 80's mall masses. The change meant the band was forced underground, not unlike the underground where the original members are rotting away, their tale forgotten. The End.

Flotsam and Jetsam - Escape From Within
Flotsam and Jetsam - Escape From Within
Song: Escape From Within Album: No Place For Disgrace (1988) Artist: Flotsam and Jetsam Band Lineup: Eric "AK" Knutson - Vocals Troy Gregory - Bass Michael Gilbert - Guitar Kelly David Smith - Drums Disclaimer: I do not own any of the material on this video. This is just a fan-made video. Click [HQ] for stereo sound. LYRICS: I lie here awake. My lifeless body that's cold feeling the pain. That's a cry far away. Why is this prolonged, I've already lived, what's to fear. Now kill the power, become partners of sin. Alone in our decision to unlock the door, And escape from within. For only death is my life. Escape from within. From terminal living, cutting me, low in my prime. Contract of death, silent screams beg to be signed. You'll live the life of a saint as you decide, Mercy kill to turn the tide. Now kill the power, become partners of sin. Alone in our decision to unlock the door, And escape from within. For only death is my life. Escape from within. Escape from within. From terminal living, through the years I've laid alone. Tubes through my body, there's no will to carry on. You'll live the life of a saint as you decide, Mercy kill to turn the tide. Now kill the power, become partners of sin. Alone in our decision to unlock the door, And escape from within. For only death is my life. Escape from within. Escape from within. Escape from within.

Flotsam and Jetsam: Greed
Flotsam and Jetsam: Greed
Flotsam and Jetsam are a Pop Rock group who expanded the borders of what pop music could do. Their lovey-dovey, smiles-all-the-way approach proved to critics that pop could sound even more bouncy and cutesy that previously imagined. They drew criticism with their debut album Cupid's Happy Picnic, where some of the lyrics were considered "questionable" and "almost not happy" Flotsam did away with any remaining pessimism in their writing and upped the ante with "Hug for Two", which they called "A sun-shiney snuggle-fest". Indeed it was. But Flotz wasn't satisfied with just hugs and kisses. The album from which this song is off, When The Storm Comes Down, is a culmination of their attempts at delighting the world with gaily wonderful cheer. Lyrical themes include makeup, having a boyfriend, and the mall.
