Why GOD SHIVA punishes God Pushpadanta after giving him Nirvana (liberation)? God Pushpadanta in his past life was King Mahapadma of Pushkalvati Vijay. King Mahapadma indulged in deep cinmatram (spiritual practice) and therefore reincarnated as God Pushpadanta in GOD SHIVA abode in mat-saṃsthām vaikuṇṭha (spiritual sky). King Mahapadma's interest in spiritual practice enlightened when he saw everything about his life as a moving picture. King Mahapadma began to roam from place to place facing many attacks but he was courageous, tolerant and always in deep cinmatram. His last pravachan was on a hill of sammed shikharji from where he shed all his karmas and attained Nirvana. After his liberation, the ascetic organization disintegrated which caused the influence of wealth to become powerful, followed by blind rituals with wealth transactions and total indiscipline. Meanwhile, after attaining Nirvana, King Mahapadma became God Pushpadanta (flowered teeth) who was a celestial musician of GOD SHIVA. One day God Pushpadanta saw a beautiful garden adorned with charming flowers. God Pushpadanta was awestruck by the beauty of the garden and using his divine powers of invisibility plucked the flowers from the garden. As time passed plucking flowers became a habit for God Pushpadanta and he would sneak into the garden using his divine powers of invisibility. One day, God Pushpadanta unknowingly stepped on the bilva leaves (GOD SHIVA favorite leaf). This infuriated GOD SHIVA who was quick to know that God Pushpadanta was the culprit and punished him by taking away his divine powers and returning him to Bhuloka (Earth). God Pushpadanta decided to compose stotram (song of praise) called "GOD SHIVA Mahimna" to please GOD SHIVA and it worked. After some time God Pushpadanta grew proud of his stotram. This annoyed GOD SHIVA who told God Pushpadanta to go peak inside Nandi's mouth. Curious, God Pushpadanta peaked inside Nandi's mouth and found the entire stotram engraved on the teeth. GOD SHIVA explained to God Pushpadanta that God Brahma prewrote the entire stotram, which God Pushpadanta (as an instrument) played into the universe.
