Song is Dedicated To Historical Language Parsi, Persian, Dari, Farsi of Great Khorasan - Afghanistan
Persian is the English name for the language known as Farsi by its speakers, which usually is called also by the names of Dari, Farsi, Parsi or Parsi-Dari, can be classified linguistically as a continuation of Middle Persian, the official religious and literary language of Sassanian Iran, itself a continuation of Old Persian, the language of the Achaemenids. It is widely spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and to some extent in Iraq and Bahrain, and has a status of official language in the first three countries under different names. Persian/Dari is a pluricentric language and its grammar is similar to that of many contemporary European languages. The Persian language has been a medium for literary and scientific contributions to the eastern half of the Islamic world. The Middle East is a melting pot of language, culture, and tradition. The dialects spoken and the alphabets used in the region for thousands of years eventually gave way to a common language and alphabet that were influenced by the Muslims when they conquered and converted the region. Over 150 million people speak it, with well over 61 million native speakers of the language and along with 8000 years history. Use in the Indian subcontinent: For five centuries prior to the British colonization, Persian was widely used as a second language in the Indian subcontinent. It took prominence as the language of culture and education in several Muslim courts in South Asia and became the sole "official ...

Dr. Trita Parsi speaks at Iran Forum
On Wednesday, June 21st, the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) held a second forum on confronting Iran in the US Capitol building. He wrote his Doctoral thesis on Israeli-Iranian relations under Professor Francis Fukuyama (and Drs. Ms. Hengameh Afshar regarding NIAC (Trita Parsi) February 26 2010 in Dallas Texas.avi
This is a segment from Ms. Afshar's March 12th 2010 Ru Dar Ru (Face to Face) program which was aired on March 12, 2010 in Pars TV. This event was sponsored by Iranian Democratic Society of Dallas, The World Affairs Council, The Dallas Press Club and Dallas Peace Center. Mr. Reza Badie and Arash Manzoori (Iranian Democratic Society of Dallas), Reza Alavi, Shawn (Siroos) Amoie (UTA student, and Bijan Abadi of Dallas Peace Center) were among the Iranians residing in Dallas who sponsored this even and invited Trita Parsi to speak at the conference. This event took place on February 26th, 2010. A gentleman by the name of Bryan Mark Rigg preceded Mr. Parsi and after a short letter on democracy instructed the audience (85 or so people mostly Iranians) no to record the meeting or talk about it outside, even though it was advertised as a public event. Only certain people were allowed to ask questions. This controversial event was highly policed. Apparently Trita Parsi who claims to be representing the Iranian American community did not trust his constituency without proper security measures. All questions were screened. Due to my familiarity with Mr. Parsi and his troubling past, I had prepared a series of typewritten questions with supportive evidence from Trita Parsi own internal documents obtained in a lawsuit against Mr. Hassan Dai. I had managed to turn in one of my already typed questions. After a cursory glance at my question, Bryan Mark Rigg totally altered it and Trita ...

Bedtime Stories (The Parsi People), 2011
"Bedtime Stories" is a collaboration with my mother that expands on the notion of the childhood tradition and considers the longterm transfer of knowledge from mother to son. Taking the form of an audio/visual encyclopedia, the project addresses a variety of historical topics that my mother is passionate about, many of which she began researching during her PH.D at the School of Oriental and Asian Studies at the University of London. These include The Mughal Empire, The Parsi People, The Mahabharata, Shakespeare, The British Royals, Gandhi, the Salt March of 1930, and the Quit India Movement among others.
My mother and I discuss these topics during recorded phone conversations. The resulting dialogues are edited into lectures and paired with rapid-fire slideshows sourced from google image results. Hundreds of keywords pulled from the lectures are visualized, providing a collective counterpoint to the intimacy of my mother’s pedagogy.
As the viewer listens to my mother’s lecture, the slideshows that appear directly relate to the words she is saying, adding an overwhelming amount of ‘related’ imagery to supplement her vocal content. This juxtaposition highlights two vastly divergent learning strategies, one more traditional and lecture based, the other related more to the kind of hyper-fast learning utilized by the characters in “The Matrix”.

Made on Earth
Made on Earth – a video by Maria Korporal
In many religions stones are considered the bones of the earth. In the myth of Deucalion and Pyrrha, after the flood, one couple had survived, but they were too old to have children. Zeus ordered them to throw stones behind them and the stones which Deucalion threw over his head became men, while the stones that Pyrrha threw became women. Hence people were called metaphorically “laos” (=people) from “laas” (=stone).
Australian aborigines believe that dead ancestors continue to exist in stones as virtuous powers. If these stones are rubbed, one’s power increases. And C.G. Jung believed that stones symbolized our innermost center – complete, unchanging and lasting. It represents the experience of something eternal, moments of immortality.
But there is also a negative side. From ancient times until nowadays, throwing stones has had a different meaning as well: it is connected to hatred and destruction. Perhaps the stone was the first weapon to be used by humans.
Made on Earth is a short history about the relationship between humankind and the “bones of the earth”.
The video consists in two parts. The first, The Woods So Wild, starts with images of an incontaminated forest. On the background one hears only the sound of birds. This quiet and pleasant atmosphere is interrupted by stones which are catapulted towards the spectator, accompanied by sounds echoing modern weapon explosions. This scene evolves into a sequence of war images, coming from different times and places, which follow the rhythm of the weapon sounds in march tempo.
The title of the second part of the video is The Towers of Silence. It reminds of the rites of the Parsis in India, who believe that earth, fire and water are sacred elements and shouldn't be desecrated by death. Therefore the Parsis leave their dead on top of high stone towers, open to the sky, called the Towers of Silence, so that vultures can eat the corpses as they dry in the sun. In Maria Korporal’s video this cult place takes the form of a nebulous space with infinite ruins. The stony surfaces are overlapped by dead images, which dissolve very slowly like memories of past times. Then the solitary stone reappears. In a slow process of transformation it presents us with the image that man created of himself, his endlessly reflecting mirror.

Truth Lies in the Village - Trailer
This short documentary depicts common people, villagers, who hold strong views about the social and political dilemmas under the current Islamic regime in Iran. The people are humbling, yet colorful, as they honor their ancient Zoroastrian beliefs and bravely speak out regarding the lack of progress and repression the country has faced during the past 30 years.
This is a journey not only to the countryside, but also a freeway to the inner spirit.

Obama makes overture to Iranian people in video message
President Obama made an unprecedented gesture to the people of Iran and their leaders. In a brief videotaped message on the first day of spring, which marks the start of the major holiday Nowruz in Iran, the president made a direct appeal for better relations between the two countries, who have not had diplomatic relations since 1979. Trita Parsi, an expert on US-Iranian relations with the National Iranian American Council, discusses the significance of President Obamas gesture toward Iran and how it is being received by the people and the government there. Hazara girls sing Hazaragi Parsi song --- Hazaras are Proud Hazaras, Parsizabans and Khorasanis, NOT awghan, afghan or afghani
Hazara girls sing Hazaragi Parsi song --- it would be considered an insult to even mistakenly call a Hazara an afghan or afghan since afghan is a wrong name for our country imposed by the british and its the identity of one minor ethnic group in southern parts of Afghanistan and besides the term afghan is associated with terrorist terrorism, suicide bombing, pedophilia, homosexuality drug and opium cultivation and smuggling so no one in the right state of mind would claim and associate with the term afghan when he has nothing to do with it.
