Baden-Baden, Germany
from Wikipedia, la enciclopedia libre Baden-Baden is a town in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is located on the western foothills of the Black Forest, on the banks of the Oos River, in the region of Karlsruhe. In 1931, the town of Baden-Baden was officially given its double name which is the short form for "Baden in Baden" (ie Baden in the state of Baden). This was already in common use to distinguish the town from Baden bei Wien and Baden im Aargau. In both World Wars, the town escaped destruction. After World War II, Baden-Baden became the headquarters of the French forces in Germany. During the Second Congress of Rastatt, Baden-Baden was rediscovered as a spa town. The 19th century saw the town rise to become a meeting place for celebrities, attracted by the hot springs as well as by the famous Casino, luxury hotels, horse races, and the gardens of the Lichtentaler Allee. Baden-Baden was then nicknamed the European summer capital. The Russian writer Dostoevsky wrote The Gambler while compulsively gambling at the Baden-Baden Casino. Johannes Brahms' local residence, the Brahmshaus, can still be visited today. Waltz No. 1 In E Flat Major artista: Chopin álbum: Point Classics

Czech Republic, Karlovy Vary
Karlovy Vary is a spa city situated in western Bohemia, Czech Republic, on the confluence of the rivers Ohře and Teplá, approximately 130 km west of Prague. It is named after King of Bohemia and Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV, who founded the city in 1370. It is historically famous for its hot springs (13 main springs, about 300 smaller springs, and the warm-water Teplá River). In the 19th century, it became a popular tourist destination, especially for international celebrities visiting for spa treatment. The city has been used as the location for a number of film-shoots, including the 2006 films Last Holiday and box-office hit Casino Royale, both of which used the city's Grandhotel Pupp.

HAUNTED MISTLEY TOWERS
Recently I visited a famous landmark site called Mistley Towers at Mistley Thorn, Essex. Standing by the banks of the River Stour estaury, Mistley Towers are the twin towers of the now demolished Church of St. Mary the Virgin at Mistley in Essex. The original Georgian parish church on the site had been built in classical style early in the 18th century following the death of Richard Rigby Esquire. Later in that century there was a grandiose plan by his son, the wealthy politician Richard Rigby, to transform Mistley Thorn into a spa town. Rigby wished to see a church from the windows of his mansion and a suitably grand church was required for the affluent visitors expected to patronise the new spa. Thus in 1776, the great architect Robert Adam was commissioned to enhance the church. His design was in the neoclassical style, with a tower at both the east and the west ends of the church. These are now all that remain of the once magnificent structure. My aim was to visit the tower`s interior by arrangement with a keyholder with a view to capturing any evp or other paranormal event. Although I was able to tap into a number of spiritual presences, the opportunity for capturing good evp was somewhat diminished by the ever present road traffic - particularly large HGV`s travelling to and from the nearby port. However, it was a worthwhile venture as you shall see in this video. Please rate it if you view it!:) MUSIC: Kevin Macleod www.incompetech.com

Bath, England: Neoclassical Royal Crescent and Circus
Bath has long been famous for its hot springs, and it was a popular spa town for the ancient Romans. When revitalized in the 18th century, local architects were inspired by the Italian architect Andrea Palladio to build a "new Rome." Bath's Royal Crescent and Circus are fine examples of this neoclassic style. 48 - Gdansk - Nov 1 - Part 1
Amanda and the 48 crew are in Gdansk, Poland, and at the mercy of Agata and Leszek, young journalism students keen to show the world why their city is central to the new, confident Poland. Gdansk is just one of part of what locals call the Tri-City, the metropolitan area also comprising 19th Century spa town Sopot and the new city of Gdynia, the most affluent region of post-communist Poland. And we begin in Gdansk's old town, as Agata and Leszek guide Amanda through the opening parade of the 750-year-old Jamark Dominikianski festival, a massive street market which survived communism to become the largest celebration of commerce and culture in the country. But they leave the romance of the sunny street market for the cold of an abandoned building in the Gdansk shipyards. Once the pride and joy of Polish industry, the shipyards that gave birth to the Solidarity movement are now struggling to survive. One of Poland's top photographers, Michal Szlaga, has spent eight years documenting the demise of the industry, and taking portraits of the forgotten heroes of Solidarity the trade union movement that was key to ending communism in Poland. On a shooting expedition to a former Nazi submarine factory, Michal shows Amanda the beauty he finds in the yards abandoned spaces, most of which are destined for re-development into shopping malls and apartments. While Michal is a Pole obsessed with documenting decay, 30000 modern day Medievalists are obsessed with reconstructing the past as ...
