Joseph John "Joe" Cole (born 8 November 1981) is an English footballer who plays for Liverpool, and the England national football team as midfielder. He started his career with West Ham United where he played more than 100 games during five years, until he left for Chelsea in 2003. Cole won a number of trophies with Chelsea, including three Premier League titles and two FA Cups before leaving on a free transfer in July 2010 to join Liverpool. He is described as "a technically gifted player with the creativity to unlock a defence".^[3]

Biography[link]

Cole was born in Paddington, London^[4] and lived there until he moved to Camden at the age of six. He was educated at St. Mary's Primary School, Bryanston Square in Marylebone along with brother Nicky and sister Charly. He also attended Haverstock School in Chalk Farm, Camden and St. Aloysius RC College in North London. As a youngster Joe Cole supported Chelsea. Joe Cole is a patron for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.^[5]

Club career[link]

A child prodigy who received national media attention as a schoolboy, Cole famously scored seven of the eight goals the England youth team scored against Spain in one match. Cole is a product of the West Ham United youth system. He was long touted as the hottest prospect in English football with Manchester United reportedly offering to pay £10 million for his services as a 16-year-old.^[6] Playing in a mould similar to former England favourite Paul Gascoigne, he quickly progressed through the West Ham ranks before making his first-team debut at the age of 17. In 1999 Cole was part of West Ham's victorious FA Youth Cup winning squad (alongside Michael Carrick), defeating Coventry City 9–0 on aggregate in the final.^[7] In January 2003 Glenn Roeder, then West Ham United manager gave Cole the club captain's armband at the age of 21.^[8] The club was relegated from the Premier League at the end of that season. Cole won the "Hammer of the Year award" for 2003.^[9]

Cole took advantage of injuries to other players (namely fellow flankmen Damien Duff and Arjen Robben) to become one of the stars of Chelsea's Premier League title winning team in 2004–05.^{[citation needed]} Cole's form saw him hit a run of goals towards the end of the season, and his goal against Norwich City (blasted in from 20 yards off his weaker left foot)^[10] was voted in the top ten goals of the 2004–05 Premier League season.^{[citation needed]} Cole scored 10 goals for Chelsea in 2004–05 and ended the season with a Premier League Champions' medal.^[11] In the first half of the 2005–06 season Cole secured himself in the Chelsea first team line up, ahead of Shaun Wright-Phillips and Duff. Cole also extended his contract with Chelsea for another four seasons.^[12] He ended his season by scoring the one of the three goals against Manchester United, which sealed the title for Chelsea.^[13]

Just weeks after Cole's participation in the 2006 World Cup, he was injured in the pre-season.^[14] In January 2007, Cole underwent surgery for a stress fracture on his foot he suffered in late 2006.^[15] Cole made his return for Chelsea in the first leg of Chelsea's 1–1 draw in the Champions League quarter-final tie against Valencia.^[11] He started for Chelsea in their victory over Manchester United in the 2007 FA Cup Final, and went on to be substituted at half time.^[16]

In 2007–08 Cole scored another goal in the League Cup semi finals against Everton which sent Chelsea to another final.^[17] Cole played in the 2008 UEFA Champions League Final, which Chelsea lost on penalties to Manchester United.

On 17 August 2008, Cole scored the first Premier League goal of the Scolari era in a 4–0 win against Portsmouth.^[18]

After surgery on his knee to repair an injury he picked up in the FA Cup clash with Southend United, Cole missed the rest of the season.^[19]

Cole did not play for Chelsea in the 2009–10 pre-season, due to cruciate ligament damage in his knee, suffered in January 2009.^[19] He was one of the substitutes for Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League clash against F.C. Porto, which Chelsea won 1–0, however he was never brought on in a match that saw torrential rain lashing Stamford Bridge in London.^[20] He made a return to the starting squad in Chelsea's Carling Cup Match with QPR on 23 September 2009, in which he was also handed captain's armband. He also came on as a substitute in the Champions League game between Cypriot side Apoel Nicosia.^[21] Cole made his first Premier League 2009-10 appearance for Chelsea against Blackburn Rovers. He played in the attacking midfield role and influenced Chelsea to blast 5 goals against Blackburn.^[22] On 8 November Cole played his 250th game for Chelsea, coming on as a substitute against Manchester United in the 62nd minute for Deco, on his 28th birthday.^[23] He came on as a substitute as Chelsea won the 2010 FA Cup Final, his second appearance in a Cup Final for Chelsea. His contract with Chelsea expired on 30 June 2010, making him a free agent.^[24]

Cole joined Liverpool on a free transfer after signing a four-year deal in July 2010.^[25][26] He was manager Roy Hodgson's first signing at the club and was given the number 10 shirt.^[27] Cole was to receive £130,000-a-week wages^[28] and was advertised as a major coup by the club.

Cole made his Liverpool debut on 5 August 2010 against Rabotnički in the UEFA Europa League assisting the opening goal for David Ngog in a 2–0 win.^[29] His league debut, against Arsenal at Anfield on 15 August 2010, lasted just 45 minutes as he was sent off for a challenge on Laurent Koscielny.^[30] In his next match on 19 August 2010, Cole missed a penalty against Trabzonspor in the Europa League third qualifying round first leg, as Liverpool won 1–0.^[31] Cole played in Jamie Carragher's Testimonial match, where he scored his first goal for the club.^[32] Cole scored his first competitive goal for the club against FC Steaua București in a Europa League match at Anfield on 16 September 2010, when he scored 27 seconds into the game. Liverpool ended up winning 4–1.^[33] He scored his first Premier League goal for Liverpool in a 2–1 win against Bolton Wanderers on 3 January 2011.^[34] Cole played his first match under Dalglish in a 0–0 draw at Sparta Prague in which he came on as a first half substitute for the injured Fábio Aurélio. On 23 April 2011 Cole scored the fifth goal in a 5–0 win over Birmingham, his third goal for the club.

Lille OSC[link]

On 31 August 2011, Cole signed for French champions Lille OSC on a season long loan.^[35] On his début against A.S. Saint-Étienne he gained his first assist after a solo run where he took on and beat four players to set up the third goal in Lille's 3–1 victory.^[36] Cole got another assist in his second Lille appearance against FC Girondins de Bordeaux, assisting Eden Hazard for his goal in a 1–1 draw.^[37] On 24 September he scored his first goal for Lille, against FC Lorient, in a 1–1 draw.^[38] On October 23 he came on as a 60th minute substitute for Idrissa Gana Gueye and scored his second goal for Lille in the 3–1 win over Lyon.^[39] Following his successful substitute appearance, Cole was included in the starting lineup for their Round of 16 Coupe de la Ligue match against Ligue 2 side Sedan on 26 October.^[40] Cole scored Lille's second goal in the 40th minute, which turned out to be decisive in a 3–1 win.^[41] Cole closed out the first half of the Ligue 1 season scoring a goal in his side's 4–4 draw with Nice on 21 December.^[42]

Cole netted his first hat-trick for Lille in a 6–0 victory over US Chantilly in the Coupe de France Round of 64 on 7 January 2012.^[43]

Cole scored his fourth league goal of the season in a 4-1 triumph over Ajaccio on 15 April, firing the ball just inside the past following a cross from Nolan Roux.^[44] The final appearance in his loan with Lille came in their 4-1 final day victory over Nancy, he provided an assist for one of Eden Hazard's three goals and was later substituted off in the 64th minute by Nolan Roux.^[45] The playmaker underwent a career renaissance during his loan spell with Lille, scoring on four occasions in 27 Ligue 1 appearances and providing three assists, forcing coach Rudi Garcia to admit of his fondness at keeping the Englishman at the Stadium Lille Métropole.^[46]

As an England youth international Cole scored seven goals in an 8–1 victory against Spain, as well as playing for England's Under 17 team, where he scored the winning goal against Norway in a final of the Nordic Tournament.^[47]

Cole made his senior international debut against Mexico in May 2001.^[48] He was a member of England's 2002 World Cup squad, and made one substitute appearance.^[49] Cole was also a squad member at Euro 2004, but did not play.^[50]

His displays in England's friendlies leading up to the 2006 World Cup enhanced his reputation ahead of the summer's finals in Germany. In May 2006 he was confirmed in the England squad for the World Cup, ahead of Chelsea teammate Shaun Wright-Phillips.^[49] He played on the left side of midfield in England's opening game against Paraguay on 10 June 2006.^[51]

On 20 June 2006, England drew with Sweden, in the World Cup, with a final score of 2–2. Cole scored a volley in the 34th minute of the match^[52] and got an assist in the 85th when he sent in a ball to Steven Gerrard,^[52] with this contribution earning him the Man of the match award.^{[citation needed]} Cole lined up for the England squad for the first time since the 2006 World Cup in the 1–1 friendly draw against the Netherlands, on 15 November 2006 providing an assist for Wayne Rooney from a cross.^[53] After another injury, he returned to start the friendly against Brazil at Wembley on 1 June 2007.^[54]

Cole scored his seventh goal for England in June 2007, in their European Championship qualifier, away to Estonia.^[55]

On 7 February 2008, Cole was one of the 23-man squad selected for the friendly against Switzerland which they won 2–1, courtesy of Jermaine Jenas and Shaun Wright-Phillips goals.^[56] For Jenas' goal, Cole skipped down the left and crossed to Jenas.^[56] Cole received Man of the match for his performance.^[56]

In August 2008, Cole scored a late equalising goal in a 2–2 draw at Wembley against the Czech Republic after coming on as a substitute.^[57] He then scored England's two goals in the next fixture after coming on as a second half substitute in the 2–0 defeat of Andorra in the opening match for the 2010 World Cup Qualifers.^[58] In England's next World Cup qualifier against Croatia he suffered a head injury in a clash with Croatian defender Robert Kovač which resulted in the Croat's sending off.^[59] Cole was named in the final 23 man selection for England's 2010 World Cup squad.^[60] He played, and scored, in a 3–0 victory against the Platinum Stars, of South Africa's Premier Soccer League, in an unofficial warm-up game.^[61] However he was limited to only two substitute appearances in the tournament itself^[62] as England lost to Germany in the second round.^[63]

Personal life[link]

Cole married fitness instructor^[64] Carly Cole (née Zucker) in June 2009.^[65] Joe had been dating Carly since 2002 and proposed to her in 2007. The couple have a daughter, Ruby Tatiana Cole, born in March 2010.^[66]

In November 2009, Cole was caught driving his Audi A4 at 105 mph on a 70 mph section of dual carriageway in Claygate, Surrey.^[67] At the subsequent court case, Cole was warned he could lose his driving licence and was ordered to pay £600 costs.^[67] He has launched an appeal concerning his driving ban.^[68]

Cole has revealed that his favourite band is Oasis.^[69]

Tremaine "Trey" Aldon Neverson (born November 28, 1984), better known by his stage name Trey Songz, is an American singer-songwriter, rapper, record producer and actor. Life and career[link]

1984–2004: Early life and career beginnings[link]

Songz was born Tremaine Aldon Neverson on November 28, 1984, in Petersburg, Virginia.^[1] Raised as a military brat, Songz did not have aspirations to have a musical career as a child due to his shyness, saying "Singing wasn't a reality for me, until other people started noticing I sounded good."^[2] He recognized his vocal abilities at the age of 14.^[2] Reluctant to sing, he began performing with encouragement by friends and family in high school. Record producer Troy Taylor discovered Songz during a talent show in 2000, which led him to signing a recording contract with Atlantic Records in 2002.^[2] After graduating from high school in 2002, Songz moved to New Jersey to begin recording his debut album, though recording didn't actually begin until 2003.^[1]

[edit] 2004–2008I Gotta Make It and Trey Day

While recording his debut album in 2004, Songz released multiple mixtapes under the alias Prince of Virginia.^[1] One of the mixtapes featured an "answer track" to R. Kelly's "Trapped in the Closet", entitled "Open the Closet". The song gave Trey some notoriety.^[3] His debut album, I Gotta Make It was released on July 26, 2005.^[4] It debuted at #20 on the Billboard 200, selling 40,000 copies in its first week of sales.^[5] It has sold 300,000 records in the US, but was never certified by the RIAA. Songz's debut single, Gotta Make It, featuring Twista, was released in March 2005 and reached #87 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #21 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. It garnered success in the R&B/urban community but failed to make a mark in mainstream music. The album's second and final single, Gotta Go, was released in July 2005 and reached #67 on the Hot 100 and #11 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, becoming even more successful than his debut single in the R&B/urban community and in the mainstream community. After promotion for his debut concluded, he was featured on the lead single from Twista's fifth album, The Day After. The single, "Girl Tonite", reached #14 on the Hot 100 and #3 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, becoming a huge hit.

In mid-2006, Songz began work on a follow-up album to his debut with longtime collaborator Troy Taylor and also employed hitmakers Bryan-Michael Cox, Danja, Stargate (production team) and R. Kelly to help create the album. Trey aimed for the album to be more mainstream-oriented than his debut album. His second studio album, Trey Day, was released on October 2, 2007. The album reached #11 on the Billboard 200,^[6] selling 73,000 copies in its first week. It has since sold 400,000 records in the US, becoming his second album not to be certified by the RIAA. The album was going to be released on May 8, 2007, but was continually delayed in order for a successful single to precede the album, as the lead single failed to impact charts.

His second album was preceded by the lead single, "Wonder Woman", which was released in February 2007. It reached #54 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, but failed to impact the Hot 100. Because of the single's failure, his second album was delayed from May 2007 to October 2007. The album's second single, "Can't Help but Wait", was released in August 2007 and was released to promote his second album and the film Step Up 2 the Streets soundtrack as a single for it. The single reached #14 on the Hot 100, and #2 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. It became Songz's first Top 20 hit on the Hot 100, and helped to boost his second album's sales. The single was also nominated for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance at the 2008 50th Grammy Awards. The third single from the album, "Last Time", was released in January 2008 and reached #69 on the Hot 100, and #9 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The fourth and final single from the album, "Missin' You", was released in May 2008, but failed to chart completely. In mid-2008, Songz was nominated for a BET Award for Best Male R&B Artist but did not win the award.^[7]

In late 2008, Trey began work on his third studio album with Bryan-Michael Cox, Sean Garrett, Stargate and Troy Taylor and aimed for the record to be more mature than his first two. Before releasing his third album, Songz released a mixtape titled Anticipation in June 2009 through his blog, which featured songs from his third album.^[8] Another mixtape from Trey was released in the summer of 2009, called Genesis. Genesis was a collection of Trey Songz's first recordings when he was fifteen years old and was released to show his fans the dedication that he had to making a record when he was young.^[9] Trey released his third studio album, Ready, on August 31, 2009. The album reached #3 on the Billboard 200, selling 131,000 copies in its first week.^[10] These are his best first week sales to date and the album was his first to reach the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. The album has since sold over 800,000 records in the US, earning a Gold certification from the RIAA in February 2010, becoming his first album to be certified by the RIAA.

The lead single from the album, "I Need a Girl", was released in April 2009 and reached #5 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs chart and #59 on the Hot 100, becoming an R&B/urban hit but not a mainstream hit. A promotional single, "Successful", featuring rapper Drake, was released in June 2009 and reached #17 on the Hot 100, becoming Songz's third Top 20 hit. The single also served as the second and final single from Drake's EP, So Far Gone. The second official single from his third album, "LOL Smiley Face", featuring Soulja Boy Tell 'Em and Gucci Mane, was released in August 2009 and reached #51 on the Hot 100 and #12 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The third single from the album, "I Invented Sex", featuring Drake, was released in October 2009 and reached #42 on the Hot 100 but #1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, becoming his first single to top that chart. Like the first two singles from the album, it achieved success in the R&B/urban community but only some mainstream success. charted within the Billboard Hot 100, and topped the R&B chart. The fourth single from the album, "Say Aah", featuring rapper Fabolous, was released in January 2010 and reached #9 on the Hot 100 and #3 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The single has become Trey's highest charting single on the Hot 100 and one of his most successful singles on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

The fifth and final single from the album, "Neighbors Know My Name", was released in February 2010 and reached #43 on the Hot 100 and #4 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. A sixth single, "Yo Side of the Bed", was going to be released in June 2010, but its release was canceled due to unknown reasons. A music video, featuring singer Keri Hilson, was filmed and released, however. Songz was also the opening act for Jay-Z on his Jay-Z Fall Tour in late 2009. The album was nominated for Best Contemporary R&B Album at the 52nd Grammy Awards in 2010, but lost to Beyoncé's I Am... Sasha Fierce. On April 1, 2010, he recorded an episode of MTV Unplugged, which aired on April 26, 2010.^[11] A documentary-series about Trey, Trey Songz: My Moment, began in June 2010 to positive reviews and high ratings. The 10-part series will end in August 2010 and follows Trey during his time as opening act on Jay-Z's Jay-Z Fall Tour in late 2009.

Songz's fourth studio album, Passion, Pain & Pleasure, was released on September 14, 2010.^[12] Trey began work on the album in early 2010 with Sean Garrett, Troy Taylor and Stargate and has stated that the album will be his most personal to date. The album was completed in July 2010. The album's lead single, "Bottoms Up", featuring female rapper Nicki Minaj, was released on July 27, 2010 and has reached number twenty-four on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and was shared enough on Facebook to appear as a trending video on ItsTrending. Its video was filmed on July 31, 2010 and is pending release.^[13] Trey also filmed the video for the album's second single, "Can't Be Friends", on August 1, 2010.^[13] "Can't Be Friends" was released as the album's second single in August 2010.^[13] Songz embarked on the Passion, Pain & Pleasure Tour on August 6, 2010 with singer Monica. The tour is his first headlining tour to date and consists of shows in venues that seat 3,000 to 5,000 people. Songz also contributed the song "Already Taken" to the Step Up 3D soundtrack, which was released on July 27, 2010. He filmed a video for the song, which was released in July 2010. The leading lady in the video is former girlfriend and professional dancer Helen Gedlu. On August 18, 2011, it was announced Songz will be working on his fifth studio titled Chapter 5.^[17] In an interview Trey said the album, which will act as the follow-up to Passion, Pain & Pleasure, is said to be nearing completion. He also carried on to say "It’s my sixth year in the game so I’ve been here for a while now. You can expect the best me you’ve ever heard. I don’t have any release dates in mind right now but I’m just making music and enjoying myself in the studio and having fun. When I get to a place where I feel comfortable saying a date or all of that, people will definitely know. I have a few dream collaborations on that album that I want, but they say if you blow out your candle and make a wish you can’t tell people what you ask for or it won’t come true."^[18]

On November 28, 2011, on his birthday, Songz released his Inevitable EP to prepare for the release of his album. In February 2012, Songz will embark on his Anticipation 2our to promote his mixtape Anticipation 2 and to raise awareness of his new album.

Brandon Green, better known by his stage name Bei Maejor (pronounced Bee Major), is a Grammy nominated American recording artist, songwriter and record producer, signed to Jive/RCA Records.

Maejor has produced and written for many artists including; Trey Songz, Tinie Tempah, Ciara, Sean Kingston, Cody Simpson, Lloyd, Kid Ink, Chrisette Michelle, Keri Hilson, Drake, T-Pain, Bow Wow, New Boyz, LeToya Luckett, Ne-Yo, Wiz Khalifa, Bun B, Monica, Ginuwine, Plies, Soulja Boy, Rock City and Travis Porter and Australian rapper Iggy Azalea's debut single "Murda Bizness" featuring T.I..

He has produced soundtracks for Bratz: The Movie in 2007 and The Princess and the Frog in 2009, and the television series Jersey Shore (TV series) in 2011. He received his first Gold Plaque for production on Bun B's Trill in 2005 while still in college at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He was nominated for a Grammy for his work on Trey Songz' album in 2010 and Monica's album in 2011.

He graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2008. After graduation he moved to Atlanta and joined the Compound Entertainment team working with Ne-Yo. Maejor was signed by Jive Records in January 2010 as a recording artist. Maejor released his first mixtape titled Upside Down on August 4, 2010, which featured Keri Hilson, Trey Songz, Drake and T-Pain. He produced and is featured on the official remix for Ciara's "Ride" with André 3000 and Ludacris. He was also featured on Plies' "She Got It Made". Maejor's debut single is titled "Trouble", which features rapper J. Cole and was released August 12, 2011.^[2] Maejor released his fourth mixtape, maejorMaejor on September 12, 2011. A collection of 20 tracks including a piano remix of Frank Ocean’s "Swim Good" and a remix of Foster the People’s "Pumped Up Kicks" dedicated to the "Little Haters.”^[3]

Maejor was named one of Rap-Up's 10 artists to watch in 2012.^[4]
