Mount of Mercy (Jabal ar-Rahmah)
Mount Arafat or Mount Arafah (Arabic: جبل عرفات; transliterated Jabal 'Arafat) is a granite hill east of Mecca. It is also known as the Mount of Mercy (Jabal ar-Rahmah). The hill is the place Muslims believe the Islamic prophet Muhammad delivered the Farewell Sermon to the Muslims who had accompanied him for the Hajj towards the end of his life. It reaches about 70 m in height. The level area surrounding the hill is called the Plain of Arafat. The term Mount Arafat is sometimes applied to this entire area. It is an important place in Islam because during the Hajj, pilgrims spend the afternoon there on the ninth day of Dhu al-Hijjah (ذو الحجة). Failure to be present in the plain of Arafat on the required day invalidates the pilgrimage. Many pilgrims stay here all night in vigil.[1] After Arafat, pilgrims of the Hajj head to Muzdalifa.

Pilgrims gather on Mount Arafat for Hajj
Millions of pilgrims gather at Mount Arafat for the annual Hajj, including groups from Syria, who call for an end to the Assad regime in their country. Clad in simple white robes, they could be seen clambering to the top of the mountain as the sun came up. At the top of this rocky hill they stood in prayer, a moment many Muslims see as the climax of the Hajj. The pilgrims will then spend the evening on the plains of Muzdalifah where they must pick up pebbles to be used the following day to hurl at three large walls representing Satan in Jamarat, between Mecca and Mina. Islam's pilgrimage is one of the faith's so-called five pillars and is a duty for all Muslims once in their lives if they are capable of it. Early morning Day of Arafat
Pilgrims walking to Arafat on the Start of the Day of Arafat. This day is the culminating event of the annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Shots of Camp at Arafat, and Jabal al-noor. Mountain of light. At dawn of this day, nearly 2 million Muslim pilgrims will make their way from Mecca to a nearby hillside and plain called Mount Arafat and the Plain of Arafat. During the entire day, from dawn until sunset, Muslim pilgrims stand in earnest supplication and devotion, praying for God's abundant forgiveness. Tears are shed readily as those who gather make repentance and seek God's mercy, recite words of prayer and remembrance, and gather together as equals before their Lord.

Arafat Day 1431 2010 All Duas Accepted 1080P HD
During my trip this year on Hajj, I went to Arafat after spending the previous day and night in Mina. Arafat day is the most special as it is the time when Allah [swt] accepts all duas & asking of forgiveness. Pilgrims by the millions here will give dua all the way to the point of sunset. Arafat is also the location where our prophet Muhammad [PBUH] gave his last khutbah and finalized the message of islam on Mount Arafat. Irecorded this in best possible 1080P HD wide screen footage so all muslims have a chance to see wonderful experience of hajj in close up detail who cannot make hajj or visit Medina or Makkah yet. Muslims who go on umrah or hajj should always make dua for those yet not fortunate, physically capable or able to do so yet so Allah [swt] will make it possible for every muslim will have the blessing to full fill their hajj obligation atleast once in their life time.

Ark on Mount Ararat
Learn More: www.greenpeace.org MOUNT ARARAT, Turkey — Greenpeace activists have built a replica of Noah's Ark, 2500 meters (8200 feet) above sea level. Many people believe that Mount Ararat is the place where Noah's Ark landed after the floods. The replica ark is designed to be a symbol of hope and dramatic plea to world leaders to take far-reaching and urgent action to avoid catastrophic global warming.

Haj pilgrims arrive at Mount Arafat
Haj pilgrims arrive at Mount Arafat Haj pilgrims arrive by the hundreds of thousands at Mount Arafat in Saudi Arabia on Thursday for the Day of Arafat. This is the climax of the Haj, where pilgrims spend the day in prayer. The hilltop and the surrounding plain is where the Prophet Mohammad is believed to have delivered his final Haj sermon before his death. One Syrian pilgrim told Reuters the he is praying for an end to unrest in his homeland. The Haj is an annual pilgrimage mandatory once in a lifetime for every able-bodied Muslim who can afford it. Many Muslims spend years looking forward to the journey. (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) EGYPTIAN PILGRIM, SAHAR HANAFI, SAYING: "For five years I have been hoping to come. I used to cry each time I saw the pilgrims on TV until finally God brought me here and I witnessed it." The annual Haj begins in the 12th month of the Islamic year, which is lunar, not solar.

Muslim faithful gather at Arafat for Haj
www.euronews.com Pilgrims from around the world have been arriving at Mount Arafat near the Saudi Arabian city of Mecca for prayer and reflection on the final day of the annual Haj. The Prophet Mohammad is believed to have delivered his final sermon from the hilltop. More than three million people are estimated to have made the journey this year. One pilgrim, from Pakistan said, "This is the big day in my life and I feel too much holy and too much happy. We don't have feelings to express this, how much I feel." Another, who journeyed from Syria prayed for peace in his homeland. "I called on God to calm down the situations all over Arab countries, and to improve the situation of Islam and Muslims. Also that the situation calms down in Syria and the country becomes safe and secure." The fifth pillar of Islam, the Haj is a journey to perform religious rites as taught by the Prophet Mohammad. It is a religious duty to be carried out at least once in a lifetime by every able-bodied Muslim who can afford to do so. Find us on: Youtube bit.ly Facebook www.facebook.com Twitter twitter.com

NOAH'S ARK FOUND in 2010 on Mount Ararat?
A group of explorers from Hong Kong and Turkey believe they've made a discovery of Biblical proportions. The group say they have found the remnants of Noah's Ark, resting at 13000 feet atop Mount Ararat. Previous ARK expeditions in decades past have also found evidence that suggested Noah's Ark may have come to rest on Ararat. However, until now, video evidence has been scant. Radio carbon dating, the researchers say, indicates this find is 4800 years old. If true, THIS is the most significant historical discovery in human history. It will be very telling to see how this story plays out in the main stream media.

Occupation of Ni'lin, Palestine - May 22, 2009
Occupation forces have shown no change in their increasingly violent response to the weekly demonstrations in Ni'lin and Bil’in against the Apartheid Wall. 15 people were injured, among them Mustafa ‘Amira, who was critically wounded after being shot in the head with a tear gas canister. Soldiers also arrested another young man, who was beaten severely in custody.
In Ni'lin, where 300 Palestinians and international supporters gathered to march in protest against the Apartheid Wall, snipers were deployed in an under-construction building and armed soldiers in the fields and streets. Occupation forces fired excessive rounds of tear gas and young men and boys responded by throwing stones. More tear gas and live ammunition followed, ultimately preventing the march from taking place.
Seven people were injured, including Mustafa 'Amira, who was shot at close range by a tear gas canister in the back of his head, and another man who was shot in the leg with a lead bullet. Both were rushed to a Ramallah hospital, where after surgery Mustafa 'Amira condition was stabilized.
During the demonstration, soldiers also beat and arrested Muhanid Ahmed Khawajeh. An eyewitness reported that soldiers continued to beat Khawajeh after he had been detained. He is still in prison, joining the remaining two prisoners from al-Ma’sara.
Bi'lin demonstrations mirrored Ni'lin, where the large crowd of residents and international delegates were prevented from reaching the Wall by road blockages and attacks. Dozens suffered gas inhalation and nine were shot with rubber coated steel bullets. Among those injured were Adeeb Aburahma, Omar Hisham Nasser, and fifteen year old Ahmad Aburahma.
Repression of anti-Wall demonstrations has been mounting. In addition to live ammunition, soldiers have been employing high velocity tear gas rounds against protestors, and Mustafa ‘Amira is the latest in a series of incidents. Last month, Basem Abu Rahma was killed by one of these rounds in Bil’in, and prior to that American activist Tristian Anderson was nearly killed after being shot in the head in Ni’lin.
While the tactics employed may be new, however, the use of lethal force against demonstrations is far from novel. In the last ten months, the Occupation forces have murdered four people in Ni'lin. Ten year old Ahmed Mousa was shot in the forehead with live ammunition 29 July 2008; seventeen year old Yousef Amira was shot twice with rubber-coated steel bullets 30 July 30 2008; twenty-two year old Arafat Rateb Khawaje was shot in the back with live ammunition on 28 December 2008; and on the same day twenty year old Mohammed Khawaje was shot in the head with live ammunition.

Islam: The Empire Strikes Back
Beginning in Arabia, Islam grew into a vast religion spreading across the globe. At its start in 610 C.E., Muhammad, the leader of Islam, began having mystical visits from the archangel, Gabriel, explaining the necessity of the preaching of the one true god, Allah, as shown in this video. And so, Islam was created. Within 100 years of the creation of Islam, major expansion had taken place.
Though, the death of Muhammad caused major conflict between Muslims; does the next leader need to be a descendant of Muhammad or simply the person best able to lead the community. A competition between Abu Bakr, a close friend of Muhammad, and Ali, Muhammad’s relative, flared. Eventually, Abu Bakr was appointed, ruling from 632-634 C.E. A summary of the achievements of his ruling include the confirmation of the Five Pillars, the unification of Muslim Arabs, and the expansion of the Muslim community. This rule began to upset Ali, eventually causing the split between Sunnis and Shias.
Abu Bakr selected a successor, Umar, who ruled from 634-644 C.E. Umar, as well, expanded the Muslim community, defined the Dar al Islam (places where Islam is routed in society), gave more structure to the government, and chose a comity to decide the next Caliph. The race began between Uthman and Ali, and Ali was overthrown. Uthman ruled from 644-656 C.E., and used similar tactics to Umar. During his reign, financial problems caused revolts, leading to his death.
Meanwhile, Ali and the Umayyad leader, Mu’awiya, fight for the role as Caliphate. A third party is chosen to decide the verdict which is that both should resign. When both refuse, the Karijites (Islamic faction) attempt to kill both, but only succeed in killing Ali. Therefore, Mu’awiya takes over, causing the main split between Sunnis and Shias.
As stated in the video, the Sunnis are the acceptors of Mu’awiya, believing that the caliph should be a devout Muslim even if he is not related to Muhammad. On the other hand, the Shia are Ali’s supporters who believe that the caliph should be a direct descendant of Muhammad.
With Mu’awiya in control, the Umayyad dynasty (661-750 C.E.) takes control, spreading Muslim rule from Spain to central Asia. The Umayyads moved the capital to Damascus, created a tax system, made coinage uniform throughout the empire, established innovative architecture such as mosques and canals, but eventually wars over succession caused the major downfall of the Umayyad dynasty.
While being taken over by a different clan, the Abbasids (750-1258 C.E.), the Umayyad leader escapes to Spain and sets up an empire there. The Abbasids move the capital to Baghdad, becoming a crossroad for land and water trade. The achievements of the Abbasid dynasty include a code of law (Shari’ah), a sophisticated banking system, new libraries and universities, development in translation, medicine, astronomy, math, chemistry, and advanced navigation and sailing techniques. Eventually, the Abbasid dynasty fell due to the inability to maintain complete control over the entire Muslim empire and separated into independent states.
Meanwhile, Muslim Spain (where the Umayyads take over), known as Al-Andalus, became a thriving dynasty, consisting of tolerance and distinct Umayyad culture as shown in the video, including authentic artwork and glorious architecture such as the Great Mosque of Córdoba. Sadly, the Spanish Inquisition (1492 C.E.) ends the glory age of Spain, as the Christians gain control and expel all Jews and Muslims, crumbling the Muslim empire.

ARK on Mt. Ararat: WHY the media BLACKOUT on the real history of Ararat?
The remains of what very well may be Noah's Ark have been reportedly located on Mount Ararat in Turkey. The video evidence is compelling and the expedition well documented. Mt. Ararat is in the same general area that the Book of Genesis indicated the Ark would be. Decades of expeditions to Mt. Ararat have yielded promising clues, and in some cases, compelling evidence. So WHY is the American media ignoring - or ridiculing - this most important, ground breaking story?
