Pliocene Epoch - Florida Fossils: Evolution of Life and Land
This video from the Museum's Florida Fossils exhibit describes the Pliocene Epoch, 5 million to 2 million years ago The formation of a land bridge across Panama in Central America about 3 million years ago was a major biotic event. Both North and South America had been previously isolated for millions of years. Each had evolved its own unique flora and fauna. Contact between North and South America allowed for the overland dispersal of organisms between the two continents. Mammals living in North America invaded South America, and South American mammals moved north. The closure of the seaway between North and South America apparently resulted in extinctions of many marine organisms. However, newly formed habitats also promoted the evolution of many new species. Produced, directed and filmed for the Florida Museum of Natural History by Wes C. Skiles/Karst Productions, Inc.

Collecting the SC Pliocene during Spring 2012
We have found quite a few nice teeth out at the Pliocene spot over the last few months, but I've been too busy to put together a video so this is a compilation of the whole spring. We found lots of modern tiger shark teeth, bull shark teeth, and even a cow shark tooth.

Pliocene Morning 1
Julian May's Saga of Pliocene Exile is a wonderful collection of novels, with the backdrop of the empty, Pliocene lands of western Europe. I still love wandering through the lost forests of the pre-sentient Eden. This sketch is an attempt at evoking an early morning vista on the Rhone Valley. The performance is a live improvisation, about 12.30 am on 1 February 2012, as the start of February Album Writing Month www.fawm.org. The recording is also live, with Zari the Dog as audio engineer. Unfortunately her attention wanted and there's distortion in the central section. Still, a dog's a dog for all that. As with all such things, after the cameras break down and the synths fall over and scream, when you finally touch the keyboard, whatever was in your mind evaporates and something new takes over completely. Hence there will be a #2 which will use the chord I started with! Music by & Copyright © 2012 TJ Fatchen All Rights Reserved APRA-AMCOS

Nice Cow Shark Tooth from the South Carolina Lowcountry Pliocene Site
Since its cooler now we have been doing more fossil collecting at our Pliocene site in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. Hunting has been consistent with good quality each time we collect. The best find lately is a cow shark tooth. While they are common in other areas, they are not found frequently in the lowcountry.

Little known by most people is the fact that almost every, if not every, major branch of modern science has been founded by a scientist who believed in Christ:
Christianity and The Birth of Science - Michael Bumbulis, Ph.D
Excerpt: Furthermore, many of these founders of science lived at a time when others publicly expressed views quite contrary to Christianity - Hume, Hobbes, Darwin, etc. When Boyle argues against Hobbe's materialism or Kelvin argues against Darwin's assumptions, you don't have a case of "closet atheists."

This following site is a easy to use, and understand, interactive website that takes the user through what is termed 'Presuppositional apologetics'. The website clearly shows that our use of the laws of logic, mathematics, science and morality cannot be accounted for unless we believe in a God who guarantees our perceptions and reasoning are trustworthy in the first place.

Materialism simply dissolves into absurdity when pushed to extremes and certainly offers no guarantee to us for believing our perceptions and reasoning within science are trustworthy in the first place:

How Teleportation Will Work -
Excerpt: In 1993, the idea of teleportation moved out of the realm of science fiction and into the world of theoretical possibility. It was then that physicist Charles Bennett and a team of researchers at IBM confirmed that quantum teleportation was possible, but only if the original object being teleported was destroyed. --- As predicted, the original photon no longer existed once the replica was made.

Of note: conclusive evidence for the violation of the First Law of Thermodynamics is firmly found in the preceding experiment when coupled with the complete displacement of the infinite transcendent information of "Photon c":

Billy Preston - Nothing from nothing leaves nothing - music video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_DV54ddNHE
According to esteemed British mathematical physicist Roger Penrose (1931-present), the precision of the initial entropy of the universe, required such precision that the "Creator’s aim must have been to an accuracy of 1 part in 10^10^123”. This number is gargantuan. If this number were written out in its entirety, 1 with 10^123 zeros to the right, it could not be written on a piece of paper the size of the entire visible universe, even if a number were written down on each sub-atomic particle in the entire universe, since the universe only has 10^80 sub-atomic particles in it.

Drilling beneath the ice in Antarctica
Tim Naish explains how drilling into the rocks beneath the ice in the Ross Sea area has revealed an extraordinary record of Antarctica when the Earth was warmer, a few million years ago, in the Pliocene and Miocene periods of geological time. At this time, the level of CO2 in the atmosphere was slightly higher than today.
