The Shore is an American rock group founded in Silver Lake, CA by frontman Ben Ashley. The Shore are heavily influenced by psychedelic bands like The Byrds, The Beatles, Coldplay,^[1] and The Beach Boys as well as Britpop groups Oasis and The Verve.

Biography[link]

In the spring of 2002, Ashley wrote a series of songs with producer Rick Parker. Parker assembled a group of local musicians, including Kyle Mullarky (bass), Cliff Magreta (guitar), and John Wilmer (drums), to record a series of demos. The demos came to Scott Austin, a Maverick A&R Executive, and the band was given a major contract only a few months after their initial recordings. The Shore returned to the studio with Parker to record their first album. The Shore recorded the album over a period of three months. The Shore EP was released on New Year's Day of 2003. Their full length album, The Shore, was released in August 2004.^[2] After guitarist Wayne Faler toured with the band, he was added as a permanent member in December 2005. It was about this time that The Shore parted ways with Maverick Records to pursue a better record deal.

The Shore released their second album, "Light Years," in October 2009 initially as a digital-only release on outlets such as Amazon, iTunes, eMusic, Napster, Rhapsody and a few other sites. A CD version was released the following year.

The band has also recently resumed touring, playing San Francisco and LA, most notably with another psych outfit, The Parties.

The Shore's song "Coming Down" was featured on the Long Way Round soundtrack, a documentary detailing the journey of Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman from London to New York on motorcycles.

Filter magazine describes the band as having "rock solid songwriting" and credits it with a "passionate commitment to music."^[1] According to Spartan Daily, "the band portrays a very neo-psychedelic pop sound and mixes it up with lush keyboards to have a modern sound."^[3]

Aaron Holmes Gwin is an American professional downhill mountain biker from Morongo Valley, California. He is recently known for breaking on to the international World Cup scene after about 8 months of riding downhill.^[1] Many see Gwin as the savior for US downhilling on the international scene since his 10th place finish at the Mont Sainte-Anne World Cup in 2008 was the first American top 10 finish since 2004.^[2]

Early biking career[link]

Aaron Gwin started his cycling career off early racing BMX from age 4. By age 8 Gwin was racing all the nationals. At age 12 Gwin moved on to motocross and raced up until he was 17 when he quit due to constant injuries. In 2008 at age 20 Gwin was loaned a bike by fellow professional downhill racer and good friend Cody Warren and was encouraged to compete in a race. In his first race in the Fontana Winter Series he got 3rd and began racing from then on, quickly signing with Yeti Cycles.^[3] He has since won two United States National Championships for Downhill, in 2009 and in 2010. Both were held in SolVista, Colorado

Riding style[link]

Much of Gwin's style and skill come from his motocross days, and his whips and jumping technique show it in videos. He also gained a lot of flow from racing BMX for so many years, bringing him success in Dual Slalom and Mountain Cross. (2011) Aaron is currently team mates with Justin Leov, Tracey Mosely and Neko Mulally. Aaron joined the Trek World Racing Team in November 2010 after relocating to Temecula, CA.

Daniel Gary "Danny" Hart (born 26 April 1989 in London) is an English footballer, currently playing for St Albans City. He played for Boreham Wood in the 2006–07 season. In October 2007 he was loaned out to Northwood for one month. In February 2008 he was loaned out to Wivenhoe Town for one month.^[1] Later in the year he joined Thurrock on loan, a loan spell which was extended until the end of the season.^[2] On 29 January 2010, Hart signed for Hemel Hempstead Town on a one month loan deal. At the start of the 2010–11 season he joined Thurrock again on loan. He was released by Barnet in January 2011.^[3] On 3 March 2011, Hart signed for Harrow Borough of the Isthmian League Premier Division.

He then joined St Albans City.
