DANI x JACOB | MYRRHA x CINYRAS || "Because you're mine"
I should start off by saying that both of these are from plays, a Greek play (MYRRHA), and an original play inspired by the former. It took me forever to get pictures, but now I have them and can edit to my heart's content.
I figured it'd be easiest, and more fun, to introduce a new fandom by doing a comparison video- and that's what this is. A video showing the similarities between their relationships, aside from the fact that they are both incestuous. I wanted to show the darker side of their love for each other and the lust that comes with it. This video, like both plays, is meant to show that sometimes we want someone we can't or shouldn't have.
Stories:
-You can find MYRRHA here on YT, mostly Zimmerman's adaptation, with the water as the center of the set. I used pictures from this- the ones with the water everywhere. Myrrha is cursed by Aphrodite for trying to ignore her suitors. She is overcome with a love for her father, Cinyras, and tricks him into sleeping with her.
-Dani, (girl in the thumbnail, with brown hair) the child of an extra-marital affair, has never known her father, and makes the choice to visit him and his wife, Sarah, in Miami. She has been sheltered by her mother all her life and thinks meeting her father might be a good step to preparing herself for the world and first semester of college. Neither she nor Jacob can help but notice the chemistry they share. Jacob cannot help but notice how much she reminds him of her mother and, when Sarah goes off on a business trip, their relationship escalates into something other than an innocent father-daughter bond.
I do ship these couples, though I like Jacob with Sarah as well. I think, even after he cheated on her (twice!), she brought out the best in him while they were together. You'll see more of her in future videos.
If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer in comments on PM. I hope I did okay at summarizing the plots with making it confusing; I didn't want to bore you or give everything away.
Editor's Note:
I am not used to editing pictures, but I tried to make this as interesting to look at as possible, while still keeping the slow pace and tone of the song. (Sorry if it's sucky; I tried.) My goal here was to show intimacy, as well as sort of compare Myrrha to Dani. I felt like this song fit both of them, their sort of possessive attitudes toward their fathers, despite an overall sweet and kind nature. I wanted to avoid the 'aftermath' that comes with morning, and simply show their feelings "now" as they give in to lust. This video is to show, not the consequences of their actions, but the action itself and the good and bad that comes with that one moment.
I hope you guys enjoy this, despite the unconventional subject matter. Feedback is appreciated. I have MEP parts to post and then it's JxHQ next. I miss editing them.

One of our most intriguing ancient sources for the myth of Myrrha is Ovid's Metamorphoses. According to this tale, Myrrha was the daughter of a wealthy king of Cyprus named Cinyras. As a beautiful young woman, Myrrha could have any suitor for her husband, but instead she falls victim to a terrible lust for her own father (some versions claim that the goddess Aphrodite is responsible for making Myrrha desire this incestuous union). Unable to deal with her unacceptable passions the princess vows to end her own life. However, as she is attempting to hang herself, Myrrha's old nurse comes to the rescue. The nurse promises to help Myrrha and so devises a cunning plan.
At the time of the festival of Demeter, the nurse realizes, Myrrha's mother is required to stay away from the marriage bed for nine days. So the nurse suggests that Myrrha act as a substitute for her own mother. This devious plan gives Myrrha an opportunity to satisfy her secret lusts without arousing the suspicion of her father. The two accomplices carry out their scheme by hiding the identity of the princess. King Cinyras is utterly fooled, and so taken with his new young lover that he makes a habit of bringing her to his bed many times. Finally, one night Cinyras gives in to his curiosity and uses a lamp to expose the young woman who has brought him such pleasure. He is shocked and appalled to learn it is his own daughter! Overwhelmed with anger and disgust, King Cinyras tries to kill Myrrha, but the young woman escapes.
Myrrha soon realizes that her fate is hopeless. She begs the gods to release her from her shame. The gods oblige, transforming the unfortunate young woman into a myrrh tree. But this myth is not quite complete. For underneath Myrrha's new skin of bark a child is growing, and this child will eventually emerge as the legendary Adonis.
About Diane Cilento:
Feisty, uncompromising and free-spirited, Diane Cilento won international acclaim as an actress during the 1950s and 1960s. She was nominated for an Oscar for her role as the seductive Molly in Tom Jones in 1963, around which time she also gained celebrity status as the wife of Sean Connery, then becoming famous as the iconic James Bond. But these are only a few of the parts Diane has played. The twists and turns of her extraordinary life took her from a privileged childhood in Queensland, Australia, to Broadway, then to London in the Swinging Sixties. In this candid memoir Diane revisits her rich but rebellious youth, an impetuous elopement at the age of twenty-three, and her work with some of the biggest stars of stage and screen.
She also shares her ongoing search for self-expression and spiritual fulfilment. Having turned her back on stardom in the 1980s, she moved to Far North Queensland, where she built and still runs Karnak Playhouse, a unique centre for the arts.

Myrrha is the mother of Adonis in Greek mythology. She was transformed into a myrrh tree after having had intercourse with her father and gave birth to Adonis as a tree. Although the tale of Adonis has Semitic roots, it is uncertain from where the myth of Myrrha emerged, though it was likely from Cyprus.
The myth details the incestuous relationship between Myrrha and her father, Cinyras. Myrrha falls in love with her father and tricks him into sexual intercourse. After discovering her identity, Cinyras draws his sword and pursues Myrrha. She flees across Arabia and, after nine months, turns to the gods for help. They take pity on her and transform her into a myrrh-tree. While in plant form, Myrrha gives birth to Adonis. According to legend, the aromatic exudings of the myrrh-tree are Myrrha's tears.

Moi, le malheur de ceux dont je suis né le fils ;
Moi, tout au vain récit de cette nuit funeste
A la faveur de quoi fut consommé l'inceste ?
[Eros] N'accuse point l'Amour !
Ses plaintes l'ont gravée au fond de ma mémoire;
Ne m'en crois point cacher l'horreur en la taisant.

Cyprus and Port Said
Cyprus is the mythical birthplace of Aphrodite, Adonis and home to King Cinyras, Teucer and Pygmalion. The earliest confirmed site of human activity is Aetokremnos, situated on the south coast, indicating that hunter-gatherers were active on the island from around 10,000 BC, with settled, village communities dating from 8200 BC.
