Quinn is a town in Pennington County, South Dakota, United States. The population was 54 at the 2010 census. The town is the home of the Badlands Observatory.
Quinn is located at 43°59′15″N 102°07′38″W / 43.987562°N 102.127109°W / 43.987562; -102.127109.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.0 square mile (2.6 km2), all of it land.
Quinn has been assigned the ZIP code 57775 and the FIPS place code 52500.
As of the census of 2000, there were 44 people, 18 households, and 10 families residing in the town. The population density was 45.9 people per square mile (17.7/km2). There were 23 housing units at an average density of 24.0 per square mile (9.3/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 93.18% White and 6.82% Native American.
There were 18 households out of which 44.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.1% were married couples living together, and 38.9% were non-families. 38.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 22.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.44 and the average family size was 3.36.

Aidan Quinn (born March 8, 1959) is an Irish-American actor. He made his film debut in 1984 in Reckless. His films include Desperately Seeking Susan, The Mission, Stakeout, Benny and Joon, Legends of the Fall, Mary Shelly's Frankenstein and Michael Collins.
Quinn was born in Chicago, Illinois to Irish parents. He was brought up as a Roman Catholic and raised in Chicago and Rockford, Illinois, as well as in Dublin and Birr, County Offaly in Ireland. His mother Teresa, was a homemaker, and his father, Michael Quinn, was a professor of literature. He has three brothers and a sister. His older brother, Declan Quinn, is a noted cinematographer. Though a roofer by trade, Quinn got his start in the Chicago theater at age 19. He trained at the Piven Theatre Workshop.
His first significant film role was in Reckless, followed by a breakthrough role in Desperately Seeking Susan as the character "Dez" (the love interest of the character played by Rosanna Arquette). He made a short impressive contribution as Robert De Niros brother in The Mission. He played escaped convict richard stick montgomery in action comedy Stakeout opposite Richard Dreyfuss and Emilio Estevez. Quinn next starred in the controversial TV movie An Early Frost, about a young lawyer dying of AIDS (it was broadcast on NBC on November 11, 1985) and co-starred such luminaries as Gena Rowlands, Ben Gazzara and Sylvia Sidney. He received his first Emmy Award nomination for the role which allowed him to gain recognition in Hollywood.

Alexandra Quinn (born on March 25, 1973 in Canada) is a retired Canadian Pornographic film actor who has been active in the industry since the late-1980s.
Quinn's first year in the industry took place prior to her 18th birthday. Age 18 is the legal minimum in which United States citizens may appear in pornography. Like the case of Traci Lords that came several years earlier, it was discovered in the early-1990s that Quinn's earlier films were made before she was 18. According to a 2000 interview with Quinn, the discovery occurred when she forgot to bring her fake ID to a session and used her real ID, thinking they would not notice the difference.
Videos featuring the underage Quinn were removed from the market. Many were edited to remove all footage of Quinn and re-released (examples include the John Stagliano-directed Buttman's Ultimate Workout and John Leslie's Curse of the Catwoman). Determining which films were illegal was simplified by Quinn having obtained breast augmentation for her 18th birthday. Amid the controversy, Quinn left the porn business for a time, appearing on news programs such as Hard Copy and blasting the porn industry. She resumed her pornographic career in the mid-1990s. She was still an active pornographic actress as of 2006, usually playing the role of "the older woman."

Antonio Rodolfo Quinn-Oaxaca (April 21, 1915 – June 3, 2001), more commonly known as Anthony Quinn, was a Mexican and American actor, as well as a painter and writer. He starred in numerous critically acclaimed and commercially successful films, including Zorba the Greek, Lawrence of Arabia, The Guns of Navarone, The Message, Guns for San Sebastian, Lion of the Desert and Federico Fellini's La Strada. He won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor twice; for Viva Zapata! in 1952 and Lust for Life in 1956.
Quinn was born Antonio Reyes in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico, during the Mexican Revolution. His mother, Manuela "Nellie" Oaxaca, was of Aztec Indian ancestry. His father, Francisco Quinn, was also born in Mexico, to an Irish immigrant father from County Cork and a Mexican mother. Frank Quinn rode with Pancho Villa, then later moved to Los Angeles and became an assistant cameraman at a movie studio. In Quinn's autobiography The Original Sin: A Self-Portrait by Anthony Quinn he denied being the son of an "Irish adventurer" and attributed that tale to Hollywood publicists.

Bradley Quinn (born 1976) is a commercial photographer based in Holywood, Northern Ireland. He is the principal photographer of Northern Irish bands Snow Patrol and Cashier No. 9. He is younger brother to Jonny Quinn, the drummer for Snow Patrol. He worked under photographer Ashley Morrison before starting his own business, Bradley Quinn Photography in 2005. He does commercial, wedding and music photography, and uses Nikon D3 and D700 cameras for his work.
Bradley Quinn was born in 1976 in Bangor, younger brother to Jonny Quinn. His aunt is actress Patricia Quinn and cousin Debbie Armstrong, wife of former Northern Ireland assistant manager Gerry Armstrong. He was introduced to photography at an early age by his father, and started doing amateur work using the darkroom in their house. When attending Belfast's Campbell College, he took up photography as a subject for his Arts GCSE. He then attended Belfast Institute to study A level photography. During his years at the Institute, he was picked by in-house photographer Geoff Hannon. It was his first job, which he did for six months. He had plans to attend university, but decided to take an opportunity to work under commercial and advertising photographer Ashley Morrison. He worked for ten years and finds the experience "invaluable"; apart from film developing and location lighting, he learnt to deal with finance and marketing.

As a junior in 2001, Quinn threw for 2,200 yards and 21 touchdowns to go along with 15 interceptions, posting a 9–4 record and helped lead Coffman to the Division I state semi-finals. As a senior in 2002, he threw for 2,149 yards, threw 25 touchdowns with four interceptions, and completed 143 of 258 pass attempts, and rushed for 108 yards and six touchdowns. Quinn helped his team post an 8–3 record and played in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas. Quinn was named the Columbus Dispatch and Ohio Capital Conference Offensive Player of the Year and was an All-State choice. Quinn was named an All-Conference player in baseball as a junior and lettered three times. He was a member of Young Life, the Rock Solid Club, and Who's Who Among America High School Students.

Christopher James Quinn (born September 27, 1983) is an American professional basketball player who plays for Khimki Moscow Region of the Russian Professional Basketball League.
Quinn played his high school basketball at Dublin Coffman High School in Dublin, Ohio where he set 14 school records and was named Columbus Dispatch Player of the Year in 2002. He was also twice named first-team all-state and was runner-up for Mr. Basketball honors in Ohio as a senior finishing behind NBA star Lebron James. Having also been named the Ohio Capital Conference Player of the year, Quinn led his team to back-to-back conference championships, as well as two straight district championships.
At the University of Notre Dame, Quinn was a three-year starter and two-time co-captain. He finished his career averaging 14.6 points, 3.5 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.27 steals per game. As a senior, he led the team in scoring (17.7 ppg), assists (6.4 apg) and was tied for first in steals (1.55 spg), while shooting 42 percent from three-point range. Quinn was a First Team All-Big East selection and also was a Big East Academic All-Star selection as a junior and freshman.

Christine Callaghan Quinn (born July 25, 1966) is a Democratic politician and the current Speaker of the New York City Council. The third person to hold this office, Quinn is the first female and first openly gay speaker.

Quinn was born in Glen Cove, New York. She graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut in 1988. She served as head of the Housing Justice Campaign for the Association of Neighborhood and Housing Development. Quinn entered politics to manage the City Council campaign of Thomas Duane in 1991, after which she was Duane's Chief of Staff for five years. She later became the Executive Director of the New York City Anti-Violence Project, and was appointed a member of the NYC Police/Community Relations Task Force by then-Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
She resides in Chelsea with wife, Kim Catullo. The couple married on May 19, 2012. Her former partner, Laura Morrison, is Chief of Staff to State Senator Tom Duane.

Colin Quinn
Colin Edward Quinn (born June 6, 1959) is an American stand-up comedian and writer best known for his five years in the cast of Saturday Night Live, as the sidekick/announcer of MTV's late 1980s gameshow Remote Control and as host of Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn on Comedy Central from 2002–2004.
Quinn was born in Brooklyn, the son of teachers of Irish descent, and was raised in the Park Slope section of the borough. He attended and graduated from John Dewey High School. His natural idiosyncratic mannerisms are trademarks of his stand-up act, headlining at top comedy clubs across the country, including Caroline's Comedy Club in New York City. Before becoming a comedian, Quinn attended Stony Brook University for a year and worked as a bartender. He stopped drinking in the early 1980s after several bad experiences with alcohol, including drunken blackouts and nights spent in jail.
After quitting bartending, Quinn began his stand-up career in 1984. He first achieved fame in 1987 as co-host of the MTV game show Remote Control, which he did for three years. In 1989, he hosted A&E stand-up showcase Caroline's Comedy Hour, and acted in and wrote the comedic short/music video Going Back to Brooklyn along with Ben Stiller. Much of his early comedy career focused on stand-up and writing for shows like In Living Color. D. Michael Quinn
Dennis Michael Quinn (born March 26, 1944) is a historian who has focused on The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a professor at Brigham Young University from 1976 until his resignation in 1988. At the time, his work concerned church involvement with plural marriage after the 1890 Manifesto, in which the practice was officially renounced. He was excommunicated from the church as one of the September Six and is openly gay.
D Michael Quinn was born in Glendale, Utah in 1944. Originally he planned to become a medical doctor, and in preparation he became a nursing aid at his local hospital during his senior year in high school, with a full load of patients doing everything involved except that prohibited by law. However in college he failed his pre-med program and had to change majors choosing English and Philosophy instead. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for 2 years in England. After graduation he served for three years in the US Army including service in the Vietnam War. During his army service he first accepted into Duke University for graduate studies in English but after leaving the Army he realized that he preferred his then hobby of studying History over other subjects. He then applied for a graduate program in History in Yale Graduate School where he graduated with a Ph.D in 1975. After graduation he took a job teaching and researching History at Brigham Young University. He has also worked as a research assistant to then church historian Leonard J. Arrington for 18 months. He taught at BYU until he resigned in January 1988 due to the ongoing pressure from some authorities who wanted to see him leave. At BYU he was elected once as best professor by the graduating class.

Dan Quinn
Daniel Peter Quinn (born June 1, 1965) is a Canadian professional golfer and former professional ice hockey player. Quinn played 14 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL).
Quinn was drafted 13th overall by the Calgary Flames in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft, while he was playing for the Belleville Bulls of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). Quinn made his debut with Calgary halfway through the next season, scoring 52 points in 54 games. When he was called up he had been leading the OHL in scoring with 59 points. On November 12, 1986, Quinn was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins for Mike Bullard. It was in Pittsburgh where Quinn would have the most individual success, as he scored a career high 40 goals in 1987–88, and a career-high 94 points the next season. This was in large part because he got to play on the same team as phenom Mario Lemieux.
Quinn was traded to the Vancouver Canucks in 1990, and that started a period where Quinn played for 7 teams in 5 years. Quinn was alleged to have raped a woman at a party in 1992. He was released by the Minnesota North Stars, the team he was playing for at the time. The police did not decide to press charges, and Quinn was back in the NHL the next season.

Daniel Quinn
Daniel Quinn (born 11 October 1935 in Omaha, Nebraska) is an American writer described as an environmentalist and best known for his novel Ishmael (published in 1992), which won the Turner Tomorrow Fellowship Award in 1991. Quinn does not, however, identify himself as an "environmentalist" and points out that the term creates a false dichotomy, evoking the notion of the environment as being distinct from living organisms, specifically human life. He has described his own philosophy as new tribalism.
Daniel Quinn was born in Omaha, Nebraska, where he graduated from Creighton Preparatory School. He went on to study at Saint Louis University, at University of Vienna, Austria, through IES Abroad, and at Loyola University, receiving a bachelor's degree in English, cum laude, in 1957. He delayed part of this university education, however, by briefly becoming a postulant of the Abbey of Our Lady of Gethsemani in Bardstown, Kentucky. Although hoping to become a Trappist monk, his spiritual director, Thomas Merton, decided it best to end Quinn's postulancy. Quinn then went into publishing, abandoned his Catholic faith, and went through two unsuccessful marriages.

Edward Quinn
Edward Quinn (Irish: Éamonn Ó Cuinn) (1920-1997) was born in Ireland. He lived and worked as a photographer from the 1950s, on the Côte d'Azur, during the "golden fifties" the playground of the celebrities from the world of show biz, art and business.
The rich and the famous came to the French Riviera to relax. But the movie stars knew how much their off-screen image counted; Quinn was at the right place at the right time, making spontaneous images which caught their charm, sophistication and chic. Amongst celebrities captured on film by Quinn were Grace Kelly, Brigitte Bardot, Marlon Brando, Sophia Loren, Aristotle Onassis, Maria Callas, Winston Churchill, and Somerset Maugham.
In 1951 Edward Quinn met and photographed Pablo Picasso for the first time. Their friendship lasted until Picasso's death in 1973. This encounter with Picasso was to be greatly influential to Quinn himself and to his subsequent work. Quinn is the author of several books and films about Picasso.
Since the 1960s Quinn concentrated his work on artists, amongst them Max Ernst, Alexander Calder, Francis Bacon, Salvador Dalí, Graham Sutherland, David Hockney.

Emmett Quinn
Thomas Emmett Quinn (September 10, 1877-February 9, 1930) ) was a Canadian ice hockey executive, coach and referee. Quinn served as president of the National Hockey Association (NHA), the predecessor of today's National Hockey League (NHL). His brother Percy Quinn was also an ice hockey executive. At the time of his death, Quinn was a Fire Commissioner in Montreal.
Quinn first became notable in the field of ice hockey as a coach of the Montreal Shamrocks in the 1906–07 season. He was replaced after the season and worked as a referee for the 1907–08 season. He was the referee of the game, in Cornwall, Ontario in February, 1907 in which Owen McCourt died as a result of his on-ice injuries. He returned to coaching, for the Quebec Bulldogs of the Eastern Canada Amateur Hockey Association (ECHA) in 1908–09. He also served as the ECHA's secretary-treasurer.
In 1909, he was part of the dissolution of the ECHA. He became the Canadian Hockey Association's secretary-treasurer. When that league dissolved, he joined the National Hockey Association (NHA) as secretary-treasurer.

Feargal Quinn
Feargal Quinn (born 27 November 1936) is an Irish politician, businessman, television personality and an independent member of Seanad Éireann.
Quinn was born in Dublin in 1936, and was educated in Newbridge College, and is a commerce graduate of University College Dublin. He is married to Denise Quinn, daughter of Ned and Grace Prendergast. They have five children and 14 grandchildren. He is a first cousin of Labour Party politician Ruairi Quinn and of Lochlann Quinn, former chairman of Allied Irish Banks (AIB).
He is the author of "Crowning the Customer" (O'Brien Press, 1990), which has been translated into many languages. He is the recipient of three honorary doctorates from Irish education institutions (NCEA, National University of Ireland and the University of Dublin) and of a papal knighthood. He shared with Oprah Winfrey the 2006 "Listener of the Year" award of the International Listening Association.
He has had a career in both business and public service. He is the founder of Superquinn supermarket chain, of which he remains non-executive president after his family sold out their interest in August 2005. He became the chairman of the Interim Board for Posts and served as chairman of its successor An Post (the Irish postal administration) until 1989 - he also served on several other public authorities and boards. From 1993 to 1998, he chaired the steering committee which oversaw the development of the Leaving Certificate Applied version. He currently chairs the IBEC-sponsored business committee on better regulation, Sensible Rules. In 2006 he was appointed an Adjunct Professor in Marketing at National University of Ireland, Galway.

Freddy Quinn (born Franz Eugen Helmut Manfred Nidl, 27 September 1931, Niederfladnitz, Austria) is an Austrian singer and actor whose popularity within the German-speaking world soared in the late 1950s and 1960s. Similar to Hans Albers two generations before him, Quinn adopted the persona of the rootless wanderer who goes to sea but longs for a home, family and friends. Quinn's Irish-sounding name comes from his Irish born salesman father, Johann Quinn. His mother, Edith Henriette Nidl, was an Austrian journalist. He is often associated with the Schlager scene.
Quinn was born in Lower Austria and grew up in Vienna. As a child he lived in Morgantown, West Virginia (USA) with his father but moved back to live with his mother in Europe. Through his mother's second marriage to Rudolf Anatol Freiherr von Petz, Quinn adopted the name Nidl-Petz. However, having left the landlocked country of Austria for Germany, he was "discovered" in St. Pauli, Hamburg, and was offered his first recording contract in 1954. He represented Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 1956 in Lugano, Switzerland with the atypical song, "So geht das jede Nacht", about an unfaithful girlfriend who dates lots of men and he finished 3rd . His other songs are mostly about the endless sea and the solitary life in faraway lands. His first hit record was "Heimweh" ("Homesickness", aka "Brennend heißer Wüstensand", "Dort wo die Blumen blüh'n" and "Schön war die Zeit", (1956), a German version of Dean Martin's "Memories Are Made of This". It sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc.

Glenn Martin Christopher Francis Quinn (28 May 1970 – 3 December 2002) was an Irish actor in television and film, known for playing Mark Healy in the American sitcom Roseanne, and Doyle, a half-demon, on the 1999–2004 television series Angel, a spin-off series of the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Quinn was born in Dublin, Ireland. He spent his childhood in America and his teenage years in Cabinteely, County Dublin Ireland. As a teenager, he played drums in a rock band called Revival (who peaked at supporting Irish AOR Band Winter's Reign and also had a demo played on the radio 'How could I know'-Rock with BOC - BLB Radio). He also acted in productions at small local theaters. Quinn attended Clonkeen College and moved to the Long Beach area of California in 1988 with his mother, Bernadette, and two sisters, Sonya and Louisa. His older brother Ciaran, whose existence he was unaware of, lives in Donabate, Ireland, and was recently reunited with his mother and two sisters. Welsh, Picts, Bretons, and small parties of Gauls and even Anglo-Saxons are known in Ireland from much earlier times.

Jonny Quinn
Jonathan Graham "Jonny" Quinn (b. 26 February 1972) is a Northern Irish drummer, born in Bangor. He is best known as the drummer for alternative rock band Snow Patrol, and was previously a member of bands like The Mighty Fall, The New Brontes and Disraeli Gears. As drummer for Snow Patrol, he has played on all releases. He is married to industrial designer Mariane Quinn (née Røkke).
He once used to work in the music store for Good Vibrations, the record label that first signed The Undertones. In the early 1990s, he was a member of The Mighty Fall, in which he had a band mate in Iain Archer. He was also a member of The New Brontes. In the summer of 1992, he became a member of Disraeli Gears, which was formed by Iain's brother Paul. In 1995, he completed a BTEC Diploma in Performing Arts. In October 1996, he started a live music venue with Brendan McCauley, called The Crescent Arts Centre. Disraeli Gears played regular shows at the venue throughout the rest of the year. In 1997, they recorded their first studio album, Pure Groove.

Julie Quinn
Julie Ann Unangst Quinn (born October 26, 1966) is an attorney from Metairie, Louisiana, and is also a member of the Republican and former member of the Louisiana State Senate. Quinn represented District 6, which previously included parts of Orleans (a portion of Uptown), Jefferson, St.Tammany, and Tangipahoa parishes.
Quinn was elected after winning a special election runoff held in July 2005 against fellow Republican Diane Winston of Covington, then a state representative. The position became suddenly available by the death of veteran Republican lawmaker John Hainkel.
Quinn is the oldest of three children born to Bruce Edward Unangst (born ca. 1949), a native of Greenville in Mercer County in northwestern Pennsylvania, and the former Shirley Ann Lineman (born ca. 1948). She has two brothers, attorney Bruce Unangst, II, of Gonzales in Ascension Parish, and Christopher Martin Unangst.[citation needed] Her father, the first president of the combined parish and municipal government in St. Tammany Parish, is a real estate agent and banker in Covington. Quinn’s mother also had political aspirations and unsuccessfully sought the District 76 seat in St. Tammany Parish in the Louisiana House of Representatives in a four-candidate all-Republican field in the nonpartisan blanket primary held on October 19, 1991. In the second round of balloting, the incumbent Edward C. Scogin of Slidell was unseated for the position that Mrs. Anangst sought by Suzanne Mayfield Krieger.

Lawrie Quinn
Lawrence William Quinn (Born 25 December 1956) is a Labour politician in England.
He went to Pennine Way primary school in Harraby and Harraby Comprehensive School (now called North Cumbria Technology College NCTC) on Edgehill Road in Carlisle. At Hatfield Polytechnic, he gained a BSc in civil engineering in 1979.
Prior to his election to Parliament, he was a civil engineer with British Rail (1979–94) and Railtrack London North-East (1994-7), and a member of North Yorkshire County Council from 1989-93.
He was Member of Parliament for Scarborough and Whitby for two terms until being ousted by Conservative candidate Robert Goodwill in the United Kingdom general election of 2005. Lawrie lost the seat by 1,245 votes. It has been suggested[who?] that votes for the local Liberal Democrat candidate, the Iraq war, and negative feeling towards Tony Blair (who visited Scarborough the day before polling day to consolidate support) resulted in the marginal loss.
He was unexpectedly elected to Parliament in the 1997 General Election, as part of the Labour landslide election victory while he was not really expecting to win a normally Conservative seat which he retained in the 2001 General Election, and is a member of the Fabian Society.

Lorenzo Quinn
Lorenzo Quinn (born May 7, 1966) is an Italian sculptor and former actor, and the fifth son of actor Anthony Quinn.
Quinn was born in Rome, Italy and is the son of the Mexican American actor Anthony Quinn and Iolanda Quinn (Jolanda Addolori). Quinn was raised in both the United States and Italy and presently lives in Barcelona, Spain. It was in Rome where he discovered his love for art and started out as a painter in 1982, training at the American Academy of Fine Arts in New York.
Quinn was attracted to acting where he interpreted roles such as Antonio Stradivari as the young violin maker with his father Anthony Quinn playing the elder. Quinn, having started painting, had always been an admirer of the surrealist artist Salvador Dalí and in 1991 he interpreted the Spanish artist on the big screen, alongside English actress Sarah Douglas portraying his wife Gala. Quinn achieved the best new actor award at the Biarritz Film Festival. However, it was by working in this role that Quinn decided his own career needed a change of direction and so he phased out acting to dedicate himself solely to art.

Marc Quinn
Marc Quinn (born 8 January 1964) is a British artist and one of a loose group known as the Young British Artists. He is known for Alison Lapper Pregnant (a sculpture of Alison Lapper which has been installed on the fourth plinth at Trafalgar Square), Self (a sculpture of his head made with his own frozen blood), and Garden (2000).
Quinn has used blood, ice and faeces to make sculptures; his work sometimes refers to scientific developments. Quinn’s oeuvre displays a preoccupation with the mutability of the body and the dualisms that define human life: spiritual and physical, surface and depth, cerebral and sexual.
Quinn was born in London in 1964. He studied history and the history of art at Robinson College, Cambridge. He worked as an assistant to the sculptor Barry Flanagan.[citation needed] Quinn began to exhibit in the early 1990s. He was the first artist represented by Jay Jopling, and was exhibited in Charles Saatchi's Sensation.

Micky Quinn
Michael "Micky" Quinn (born 2 May 1962) is a retired English professional footballer. He was predominantly a centre forward from 1979 until 1996.
He had spells with Wigan Athletic, Stockport County, Oldham Athletic, Portsmouth, Newcastle United, Coventry City, Plymouth Argyle, Watford and PAOK Thessaloniki during a career in which he scored 228 goals from 515 games in the Football League.
Quinn was born in Everton, in inner city Liverpool, in 1962, the oldest of four children born to Michael Quinn and Patricia Silvano. From the age of five, he lived on the Cantril Farm estate. He was the grandson of Italian-born boxer Luigi Silvano (known professionally at Lou Sullivan) who died in 1948.
Quinn began his career as an apprentice with Derby County signing for the East Midlands club upon leaving school in 1978. However, he only lasted four months at the Baseball Ground, and returned to his Merseyside home due to homesickness. Eager though to turn professional, Quinn joined Wigan Athletic in September 1979.

Nesanel Quinn
Nesanel Hakohen Quinn (1910 – 7 February 2005) was the renowned principal of Yeshiva Torah Vodaas in Brooklyn, New York, for nearly 80 years.
Quinn’s parents, Zalman Pinchas and Devorah Miriam Quinn, were originally from Dvinsk, Lithuania. After 10 years without children, they followed the advice of Rabbi Sholom Dovber Schneersohn and emigrated to the United States. There they had five children. Mrs. Quinn lived to the age of 111.
Quinn was a pupil at Yeshiva Torah Vodaas (the elementary school) and a student in the first class of Mesivta Torah Vodaath, founded by Rabbi Shraga Feivel Mendlowitz in 1926. Rabbi Mendlowitz is said to have remarked to Rabbi Elchonon Wasserman about Rabbi Quinn that "he is my greatest and closest talmid (student) in America".
Rabbi Quinn also learned under Rabbi Dovid Leibowitz, Rosh Yeshiva of Torah Vodaath. When Rabbi Leibowitz left to start his own yeshiva, Yeshivas Rabbeinu Yisrael Meir HaKohen, Rabbi Nesanel Quinn was given charge of Torah Vodaath, along with Rabbi Gedalia Schorr.

Neville Quinn
Neville Anthony Quinn (21 February 1908 in Tweefontein, South Africa – 5 August 1934 in Kenilworth, a suburb of Kimberley, Northern Cape, South Africa) was a cricketer who played in 12 Test matches for South Africa from 1929 to 1931-32.
A left-handed lower-order batsman and a left-arm medium fast bowler, Quinn played first-class cricket for Griqualand West from 1927-28. The following season, in only his third first-class game, he took eight Border first-innings wickets for 37 runs, and this remained his best innings bowling performance. He followed that with six for 19 in 24 overs against Transvaal in the next match, and that secured his place on the 1929 South African tour to England.
He made his Test debut on the tour to England in 1929. He found the bowling conditions of a dry English summer suited his swing bowling, and played in four of the five Tests. He took 6-92 in England's first innings in the 3rd Test at Headingley, the only 5-wicket haul in his short Test career, and came second in the tourists' bowling averages behind Tuppy Owen-Smith.

Padraig Quinn
Pádraig Ó Cuinn (Pádraig Quinn}}; 1898 – August, 1974) was an Irish Republican Army Quartermaster General in the Fourth Northern Division in the Irish War of Independence.
Born in Liverpool, Quinn was raised in Newry where he attended the Abbey Christian Brothers Grammar School. His father, John Quinn, opened the first supermarket in Ireland, The Milestone, and he was a brother of Seán F. Quinn. He lived in the USA and England for many years before returning to Newry to work as a general practitioner.
During the War of Independence he commanded a unit that operated against the British in Dublin city centre. He was involved in numerous operations in the field. He was sympathetic to the anti-Treaty side in the Irish Civil War and was wounded when he tried to escape an ambush at the end of this conflict. After the war, he presided over the Newry Easter commemoration ceremonies in St Mary's cemetery in Newry, on the border between County Armagh and County Down, for 30 years [1]. He also lobbied the Irish Government to recognize men who served under his command in both conflicts as veterans entitled to veterans' benefits.

Percy Quinn
John Purcell (Percy) Quinn (January 9, 1876 – October 28, 1944) was a Canadian athlete, businessman, sports promoter and politician in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He was the owner and president of the Toronto Blueshirts, winners of the Stanley Cup in 1914. He was a member of the world champion Montreal Shamrocks lacrosse team in 1896. From 1927 until 1932 and 1937 until 1942 he served as alderman on Toronto City Council. His brother Emmett Quinn was also an ice hockey executive.
Born in Montreal, Quinn played hockey and lacrosse as a youth. He joined Queen Insurance at the age of 14 and was transferred to Winnipeg in 1902. He became local manager of the renamed Royal Insurance office in Toronto in 1906, where he lived until his death in 1944, due to ill health after a heart attack in 1942. He married Louise Reeves. Quinn had three brothers Emmett, Fred and Raphael. Quinn did not have any children.
Quinn was first involved in hockey as a coach and a referee in the early 1900s. He was referee of the Stanley Cup challenge series between the Winnipeg Victorias and the Montreal Hockey Club in 1903. When professional hockey was just beginning, Quinn was the owner and manager of the first professional ice hockey team in Toronto, the Toronto Professional Hockey Club, which operated from 1906 until 1909. In 1911, he purchased a franchise in the National Hockey Association (NHA) to play in the new Arena Gardens of Toronto. The arena was not ready for the 1911–12 season, and the team began play in 1912–13. In only its second season, the Blueshirts would win the NHA championship and the Stanley Cup. Quinn sold his share of the Blueshirts, turning the club over to Eddie Livingstone.

William Quinn Buckner, commonly known as Quinn Buckner (born August 20, 1954 in Phoenix, Illinois) is a former American professional basketball player and coach. He played collegiate basketball for the Indiana University Hoosiers, and was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks with the 7th pick of the 1976 NBA Draft. He had a ten-year NBA career for three different teams (the Bucks, the Boston Celtics, and the Indiana Pacers). Throughout his career he was a solid defensive player, and made the 2nd team All-Defense four times. In 1984, he won an NBA title with the Celtics.
Although he had a modest professional career, Quinn Buckner’s basketball life is a study in success. He is one of only three players in history to have won titles at every level: high school, college, the NBA, and the Olympics. (Magic Johnson and Jerry Lucas are the others.)
In addition to his playing career, Buckner was the head coach of the Dallas Mavericks for one year, from 1993 to 1994. Currently, Buckner is a color analyst for the Indiana Pacers cable television broadcast team. Quinn also was the play-by-play announcer on 989 Sports line of college basketball games for several years.He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity.

Quinn shattered Rex's kneecap, and Rex walked with a limp for the rest of his life. In the episode "The Guardian", on a world where events occurred as they did on Earth Prime twelve years ago, Quinn prevented history from repeating itself.

Quinn Martin (May 22, 1922 – September 5, 1987) was one of the most successful American television producers. He had at least one television series running in prime time for 21 straight years (from 1959 to 1980), an industry record.
He was born in New York City as Irwin Martin Cohn, the second of two children. His father Martin G. Cohn was a film editor and producer at MGM; his mother was Anna Cohn. From age four he was raised in Los Angeles. He graduated from Fairfax High School. He served five years in the U.S. Army during World War II, enlisting in the Signal Corps at Fort MacArthur in San Pedro, California on September 10, 1940. He achieved the rank of sergeant. He would change his name to Quinn Martin (the Quinn came from the pronunciation his friends gave of Cohn, as "Co-Inn").[citation needed]
While attending the University of California, Berkeley, Martin majored in English but did not graduate. Martin started his career in television as a film editor at MGM and also worked as manager of post production for various organizations including Universal Studios (1950–1954), but by the mid-1950s had become an executive producer for Desilu Studios. His first wife, Madelyn Pugh Davis, was one half of the writing team behind Desilu's classic, I Love Lucy. During 1959, he produced for Desilu Productions a two part special that appeared in season 1 of Westinghouse Desilu Playhouse that became a weekly television show The Untouchables that would go on to win Emmy Awards.

Robert E. Quinn
Robert Emmet Quinn (April 2, 1894 - May 19, 1975) was an American politician and the 58th Governor of Rhode Island.
Quinn was born on April 2, 1894 in Phoenix, Rhode Island. He graduated from Brown University in 1915. He then completed his law degree from Harvard Law School in 1918.
He became the Lieutenant Governor of Rhode Island from 1932 to 1937. He was nominated for governorship of Rhode Island when incumbent Governor Francis Green chose to run for a seat in the United States Senate. He held the governor's office from January 5, 1937 to January 3, 1939. During his administration, Quinn advocated a merit system for state workers, a personal income tax, and exemption for the poor from real estate taxes.
Nicknamed “Battlin’ Bob”, Quinn set up a battle known as the “Race Track War” against the highly successful Thoroughbred racing venue Narragansett Park. This would ensue in the fall of 1937. From the first incident on September 2, the “War” would not be resolved until October 16. The National Guard was called out and men with machine guns blocked the front entrance to the track. Time Magazine reported the story nation wide. Quinn won in the short-term, as Walter O’Hara was removed from his post as president and manager of the Narragansett Racing Association, and Judge James E. Dooley officially took control of the track.

Ruairi Quinn
Ruairi Quinn (born 2 April 1946) is an Irish Labour Party politician who has been Minister for Education and Skills since March 2011. He is currently a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Dublin South–East constituency. He was Minister for Finance from 1994 to 1997, and leader of the Labour Party from 1997 to 2002.
Quinn was born on 2 April 1946. His family were prominent republicans in the South Down area in the 1920s, taking an active part in the IRA during the War of Independence and the Civil War. The Quinns were prosperous merchants in Newry, County Down, but were forced to move south to Dublin in the 1930s where Quinn's father built a successful business career. Quinn was educated at Saint Michael's College, Ballsbridge, and Blackrock College where he was academically successful and an outstanding athlete and a member of the Senior Cup rugby team. From an early age, he was interested in art and won the all-Ireland Texaco Children's Art competition. This led him to study architecture at University College Dublin (UCD) in 1964 and later at the School of Ekistics in Athens.

Sean Francis Quinn
Seán Francis Quinn (Irish: Seán Proinsias Ó Cuinn) was an Anti-Treaty IRA officer (Adjutant General) in the Fourth Northern Division of the Irish Republican Army (IRA).
He was educated by the Christian Brothers in Newry.
On April 22, 1923, he was at a safe house in Castlebellingham along with his brothers Padraig Quinn (IRA Quartermaster General) and Malachi (father of Ruairi Quinn Labour TD). Also there was Frank Aiken (O/C) and Ned Fitzpatrick. They were betrayed by a Catholic priest who had said Sunday Mass for them. Soon surrounded by a large force of Free State troops, Seán Quinn decided they would shoot their way out. Seán and Pádraig Quinn were shot and captured. Aiken escaped (he was named IRA Chief of Staff the next day). Malachi and Ned escaped by hiding in the attic. Seán Quinn died a month later in prison from the untreated wounds.
On May 24, 1923, soon after Seán Quinn’s death, Frank Aiken issued a “cease fire” order and instructed all IRA units to “dump arms” which effectively ended the Irish Civil War.

Susan Quinn
Susan Quinn is an award-winning writer of non-fiction books and articles. Born in 1940, she grew up in Chillicothe, Ohio, and graduated from Oberlin College. She began her writing career as a newspaper reporter on a suburban daily outside of Cleveland, following two years as an apprentice actor at the Cleveland Playhouse, a professional repertory company. O'Quinn became known for playing the title role in The Stepfather and Stepfather II, and in 1996 O'Quinn was cast as Peter Watts in Millennium, which ran for three seasons (1996–1999). In 2004, O'Quinn finally broke into mainstream popularity after landing the role of John Locke on the ABC TV series Lost, for which he won an Emmy Award in 2007 (and was nominated in 2005 and 2010) and a Saturn Award in 2004.

Tom Quinn (Spooks)
Tom Quinn is a fictional character in the BBC espionage television series Spooks, which follows the exploits of Section D, a counter-terrorism division of MI5. He is portrayed by British actor Matthew Macfadyen. In the first two series, Tom is the chief of Section D. The character was in the first and second episode of the third series but was decommissioned as a result of sabotaging an operation. He appeared again in the final episode of Spooks.
Series creator David Wolstencroft believed that writing Tom was the most fun, yet hardest to work on. During the second series, the producers were unsure whether Macfadyen would return for the third; because of this, Tom was originally killed in the second series finale. However, when Macfadyen decided to appear in the first two episodes of the third series, series writer Howard Brenton had to "unkill him." Reaction towards the character by fans were positive, though critics were mixed about Macfadyen's portrayal.

Wayne Quinn
Wayne Quinn (born 19 November 1976 in Truro) is an English ex-professional football player who played as a defender.
He started his career at Sheffield United, breaking into their first team in 1997. In 2001 he was loaned to Newcastle United, who later purchased him for £800,000. After a difficult time at the club, scoring once against Lokeren in the Intertoto Cup, he was loaned back out to Sheffield United, and then West Ham before being released on a free transfer in 2004. Quinn played for England's Under 21 team, and also played for England's 'B' side. He usually played at left full-back but could play as a left-sided midfielder.
Since he left West Ham United at the age of 28, he has not been able to find another pro club. It was reported in the Plymouth Evening Herald that Quinn was offered a trial by English Championship club Plymouth Argyle but declined the opportunity, preferring to play amateur football in Cornwall.
Quinn played for and managed Penzance AFC along with Gary Marks and as of April 2012 has transferred to Falmouth Town, making his first appearance at centre back in a 1-1 draw at home to Elburton Villa.

William Francis Quinn (July 13, 1919 – August 28, 2006) was the Governor of the Territory of Hawaii from 1957 to 1959 and the Governor of the State of Hawaii from 1959 to 1962. Originally appointed to the office by President Dwight D. Eisenhower, Quinn was the last executive of an era of Republican rule over the Hawaiian Islands which began during the overthrow of the monarchy in 1893, and the last Republican to serve as Governor until Linda Lingle in 2002. Quinn appeared as a guest on the television program "What's My Line". He was the recipient of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre, a papal knighthood conferred by Pope John Paul II.
Quinn was born in Rochester, New York on July 13, 1919. His family moved to St. Louis, Missouri during his youth, where he attended prep school at St. Louis University High School and college at St. Louis University, graduating in 1940. Quinn entered Harvard Law School, but only finished after his stint in the military. He graduated cum laude in 1947. He served in Hawaii in naval intelligence during World War II. Upon his discharge from service, he settled permanently in Honolulu, Hawai'i.

Sullivan began taking guitar lessons at age five. He has studied with Brian Cass of The Overclock Orchestra and the Toe Jam Puppet Band as well as Stan Belmarce. The first original song he wrote with Chris Waters was titled "Sing, Dance, Clap Your Hands". Sullivan first gained national media attention at age six when he appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show. He garnered more attention when Buddy Guy asked him to come on stage and play during a performance at the Zeiterion Theater in New Bedford, Massachusetts in 2007.
Quinn has since performed on stage with Guy as well as with B.B. King and has played in venues such as the Beacon Theatre in New York City, the Orpheum Theatre in Boston, and Buddy Guy’s Legends in Chicago. In 2008, Sullivan appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show and was featured on NBC's The Today Show in July 2009. In 2009, Sullivan opened for Buddy Guy on his East Coast tour during the summer, played his own set at the popular summer music festival Lollapalooza, as well as the Austin City Limits Festival in October.[citation needed]. In 2011, he appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! show.
Sullivan made a guest appearance on Buddy Guy's Grammy-nominated album Skin Deep, released in 2008. His solo can be heard on the track “Who's Gonna Fill Those Shoes." His single, "Summer of Love," was released in 2009.[citation needed] Quinn released his debut album Cyclone in February 2011. He went on tour in the summer of 2011 with Buddy Guy to promote his album. In the fall of 2011 Quinn played such venues like Austin City Limits Festival and BB King's Blues Club in New York City. Quinn is now taking time to start recording for a new album that will be released in early spring and will go on tour this coming summer of 2012.

Freddy Quinn (born Franz Eugen Helmut Manfred Nidl, 27 September 1931, Niederfladnitz, Austria) is an Austrian singer and actor whose popularity within the German-speaking world soared in the late 1950s and 1960s. Similar to Hans Albers two generations before him, Quinn adopted the persona of the rootless wanderer who goes to sea but longs for a home, family and friends. Quinn's Irish-sounding name comes from his Irish born salesman father, Johann Quinn. His mother, Edith Henriette Nidl, was an Austrian journalist. He is often associated with the Schlager scene.

Quinn was born in Lower Austria and grew up in Vienna. As a child he lived in Morgantown, West Virginia (USA) with his father but moved back to live with his mother in Europe. Through his mother's second marriage to Rudolf Anatol Freiherr von Petz, Quinn adopted the name Nidl-Petz. However, having left the landlocked country of Austria for Germany, he was "discovered" in St. Pauli, Hamburg, and was offered his first recording contract in 1954.[1] He represented Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 1956 in Lugano, Switzerland with the atypical song, "So geht das jede Nacht", about an unfaithful girlfriend who dates lots of men and he finished 3rd . His other songs are mostly about the endless sea and the solitary life in faraway lands. His first hit record was "Heimweh" ("Homesickness", aka "Brennend heißer Wüstensand", "Dort wo die Blumen blüh'n" and "Schön war die Zeit", (1956), a German version of Dean Martin's "Memories Are Made of This". It sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc.[2]
Other hits, often with him simply billed as Freddy, followed: "Die Gitarre und das Meer" (1959), "Unter fremden Sternen" (1959), "Irgendwann gibt's ein Wiedersehn" (1960), "La Paloma" (1961), "Junge, komm bald wieder" (1963). His 1964 offering "Vergangen, vergessen, vorueber" was another million selling release.[2]
His popularity petered out in the 1970s, but Quinn continued performing. "Junge, komm bald wieder" was sung by Alpay on 7 Dilde Alpay ("In Seven Languages Alpay" in Turkish) album, which was released in 1973.
Starting in the late 1950s, Quinn also acted in several movies, again frequently cast as the seafaring loner. Titles include Freddy, die Gitarre und das Meer (1959), Freddy unter fremden Sternen (1959), Freddy und das Lied der Südsee (1962), and Heimweh nach St. Pauli (1963). Subsequently, Quinn also performed on the stage in such diverse roles as Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, the king in The King and I, and Lord Fancourt Babberly in Charley's Aunt.
Quinn was also an accomplished circus performer who stunned television audiences as a tightrope walker performing live and without a safety net. On another occasion, which was also televised, he rode a lion inside a circus cage while the lion was balancing atop a moving surface.
Quinn still lives in Hamburg.

Colin Edward Quinn (born June 6, 1959) is an American stand-up comedian and writer best known for his five years in the cast of Saturday Night Live, as the sidekick/announcer of MTV's late 1980s gameshow Remote Control and as host of Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn on Comedy Central from 2002–2004.

Early years[link]
Quinn was born in Brooklyn, the son of teachers [4] of Irish descent, and was raised in the Park Slope section of the borough. He attended and graduated from John Dewey High School. His natural idiosyncratic mannerisms are trademarks of his stand-up act, headlining at top comedy clubs across the country, including Caroline's Comedy Club in New York City. Before becoming a comedian, Quinn attended Stony Brook University for a year and worked as a bartender. He stopped drinking in the early 1980s after several bad experiences with alcohol, including drunken blackouts and nights spent in jail.[5]
After quitting bartending, Quinn began his stand-up career in 1984. He first achieved fame in 1987 as co-host of the MTV game show Remote Control, which he did for three years. In 1989, he hosted A&E stand-up showcase Caroline's Comedy Hour, and acted in and wrote the comedic short/music video Going Back to Brooklyn along with Ben Stiller. Much of his early comedy career focused on stand-up and writing for shows like In Living Color. He later co-wrote the story and was an associate producer for the movie Celtic Pride, starring Damon Wayans and Dan Aykroyd.

In 1995, Quinn was hired by Saturday Night Live as a writer and featured player until 1997–1998 season, when he became a full cast member. He established himself on the show with characters such as "Lenny the Lion" and "Joe Blow", and did the recurring segment "Colin Quinn Explains the New York Times". Quinn took over as host of the Weekend Update segment in January 1998 after Norm Macdonald's firing, and anchored the segment until departing SNL in 2000. Quinn would often comment on the highly publicized media circuses such as Clinton-Lewinsky Scandal and the Microsoft Anti-Trust Trial. At the end of each Weekend Update segment, he would use the catchphrase, "That's my story and I'm sticking to it." He was not thrilled about his run on the show, declaring on an episode of Tough Crowd, "I don't miss it."
During his SNL years, Quinn made his Broadway debut in his one-man show, Colin Quinn: An Irish Wake co-written with fellow comedian Lou DiMaggio, and was offered the role of Scott Evil in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery by Mike Myers, which he turned down to make time for his writing projects.[6] The role was taken by Seth Green.

After leaving SNL, Quinn had a sketch comedy show on NBC called The Colin Quinn Show in 2002 that lasted for only three episodes.
Quinn became host of Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn on Comedy Central in December 2002. The show immediately followed The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and was one of several attempts to create a companion show for Stewart's program. However, Tough Crowd never managed to keep the majority of its lead-in audience. Although it was renewed through the 2005 television season, Tough Crowd was placed on indefinite hiatus in October 2004, with its "final" episode airing on November 4, 2004. The show featured four comedians (often his friends such as Dave Attell, Jim Norton, and Patrice O'Neal) with Quinn as host, discussing various political issues in conversations that were often heated. Quinn gave many comedians exposure on the show, which ran for roughly 250 episodes over a two-year period. His stand up material was also used in Comedy Central's animated stand up series Shorties Watchin' Shorties. [7]
Colin performs regularly at the Comedy Cellar in New York City, where many top comedians perform when not on the road. In 2004, he was named #56 on Comedy Central's list of the 100 greatest standups of all time. He was also named to the Irish America Magazine list of the "Top 100 Irish Americans of the Year".[8]

He would later be heard as the "unofficial co-host" on the Nick DiPaolo show on the now-defunct 92.3 Free FM in New York City, airing Monday-Friday from noon to 3pm. Quinn and DiPaolo were originally slated to host the show together on WJFK-FM, but the station decided not to pick up the show. Nick often referred to Quinn as "the joke fairy", due to his propensity for telling a joke and hanging up the phone before getting a response. Quinn is also a regular guest on The Opie & Anthony Show. Recently Quinn has discussed what he refers to as thousands of pages of "manifestos" that he's written since his departure from Tough Crowd, but never elaborated on the contents.
More recently, Quinn played Dickie Bailey, the childhood town rival to Lenny Feder (Adam Sandler's character) in Sandler's movie Grown Ups, released in the summer of 2010.
In 2010, Quinn premiered his one-man show "Colin Quinn Long Story Short" on Broadway at the Helen Hayes Theatre, directed by Jerry Seinfeld. Comically channeling the demise of various world empires, Quinn takes a satirical look at the history of the world in 75 minutes. Quinn recorded a special performance of the show that aired on HBO on April 9, 2011. He explores the attitudes, appetites and habits that toppled some of the world's most powerful nations.[9]
In summer 2011, Quinn toured "Colin Quinn Long Story Short" to Guild Hall in East Hampton, Philadelphia Theatre Company in Philadelphia, and other cities including Chicago at the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place.
