Tetris Attack is a 1996 puzzle video game developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Game Boy. It is the first game in the Puzzle League series. While it was originally known in Japan as Panel de Pon for the Super Famicom and featured different art assets and characters, its English localization was replaced with characters from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. It was released on the Game Boy under the same name. The Game Boy release of the Yoshi version was also later released in Japan. On November 3, 1996, a version was released for the Super Famicom's Satellaview satellite modem service as BS Yoshi's Panepon (BSヨッシーのパネポン, Bī Esu Yosshī no Panepon). This game is similar to the Baku Baku Animal, developed by Sega in 1995.
Despite using the Tetris name, this game has no resemblance to its Russian namesake. This has led Henk Rogers of The Tetris Company to say that he regrets granting permission to Nintendo to use the name.
Tetris (Russian: Те́трис, pronounced [ˈtɛtrʲɪs]) is a Russian tile-matching puzzle video game, originally designed and programmed by Alexey Pajitnov. It was released on June 6, 1984, while he was working for the Dorodnicyn Computing Centre of the Academy of Science of the USSR in Moscow. He derived its name from the Greek numerical prefix tetra- (all of the game's pieces contain four segments) and tennis, Pajitnov's favorite sport.
Tetris was the first entertainment software to be exported from the USSR to the US, where it was published by Spectrum HoloByte for Commodore 64 and IBM PC. The Tetris game is a popular use of tetrominoes, the four-element special case of polyominoes. Polyominoes have been used in popular puzzles since at least 1907, and the name was given by the mathematician Solomon W. Golomb in 1953. However, even the enumeration of pentominoes is dated to antiquity.
The game (or one of its many variants) is available for nearly every video game console and computer operating system, as well as on devices such as graphing calculators, mobile phones, portable media players, PDAs, Network music players and even as an Easter egg on non-media products like oscilloscopes. It has even inspired Tetris serving dishes and been played on the sides of various buildings.

Game Grumps is a Let's Play webseries starring animator Arin Hanson and musician Leigh Daniel Avidan, also known as "Danny Sexbang," from the musical comedy duo Ninja Sex Party. The show was created on July 10, 2012 by Hanson and comedic video game critic Jon "JonTron" Jafari. Jafari left the show in June 2013 to focus on his primary YouTube channel JonTron, and was subsequently replaced by Avidan. The channel also expanded to include new hosts in spin-offs: animator Ross O'Donovan, series editor Barry Kramer, and Suzy "Mortemer" Berhow, the group's manager and Hanson's wife. Additionally appearing in some, but few, episodes is the new primary editor of the show, Kevin Abernathy, as well as their newest member Brian "Ninja Brian" Wecht, the other half of Ninja Sex Party. Game Grumps was a part of Polaris, a network owned by Maker Studios, a subsidiary of Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media division of The Walt Disney Company. They left the network in January of 2016.

http://www.longplays.org Played by: Tsunao Panel de Pon (the original version) with Yoshi's Island characters. Kinda like Doki Doki Panic and Super Mario Bros. 2 USA. This game has NOTHING to do with Tetris. The game that started the Puzzle League series (well, Panel de Pon series.) A great puzzle game for the SNES. Longplay consists of clearing Stage Clear (and clearing the Special Stage), Puzzle (both standard and extra mode), and Versus on Very Hard difficulty (hold Up + L + A while highlighting Hard. Background turns dark red.) No skills involved (I say I am average at the game. Xbax controller makes it harder). I NEVER completed Puzzle mode on a cart. I get stuck on Level 4 or 5. -_- Then I lose my password. Fun.

Welcome to version differences! The series where we take two or more of the same game from different regions or versions and compare and contrast! Today we're looking at Panel De Pon/Tetris Attack. This was what happened when a game was "too Japanese-y" back in the day. People who complain about censorship in Fire Emblem games would have a field day with this. ► Subscribe to JoshKall for more! - http://bit.ly/JoshKallSub ► Check out JoshKall for my LPs - https://youtube.com/joshkall ► Follow me on Twitter - https://twitter.com/JoshKallLP
Me playing my all time favorite SNES game: Tetris Attack. I used Snes9x emulator with a USB SNES controller and recorded with ScreenFlow. This is vs. Bowser (the final boss) on Very Hard and and I got a 17x chain at one point (and won). I know it's not as amazing to watch as some other Tetris Attack videos out there, but I promise it's 100% real. I did NOT use any mods, tools, hacks or tricks. Hope you enjoy it, I hope to upload bigger chains and better recordings as I accomplish them.

Nintendo's Tom Hertzog vs Craig (winner) in the Tetris Attack tournament final Saturday, September 2nd night at PAX West 2017. I lost to Tom in the match before this :( This was originally supposed to be best 2/3 games, but after two rounds, the contestants decided to spare everyone a long night and call it good with one game.

Final set of matches in the Tetris Attack tournament on Sunday night at PAX Prime 2013. Jon vs Rett, with it looking like Jon would get an easy four rounds...until Rett came back and took it to the final round! Nintendo's Tom Hertzog failed to defend his title, being eliminated in the round before by Jon. Other favored players like Ted, Hiro, Puzzlemaster and Nintendo's Ondrej Lang also met their demise early on...the first three to Tom in a row!
Me getting a 31 chain with the help of garbage. Also note that this is a tool assisted recording.
Let's go back to 1996. This is my first playthrough done on my Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Here is a warning. Because of YouTube's players and the framerate of how blocks get deleted, blocks won't flash as much as they do in the normal game when originally recorded. This is just because a computer cannot handle this much flashing on a video. Trust me, this is the same for others who have posted videos of this game. The flashing is moderate, but not as much as in the real recording of the game. This also happens in some games when your character gets hurt. It will look like they are invisible when it is clearly because video players cannot show it correctly. Lakitu, Bumpty, Poochy, Flying Wiggler, Prince Froggy, Gargantua Blargg, and Lunge Fish are battled.
A tool-assisted speedrun of Tetris Attack Vs. Mode on the hardest difficulty. The credits were cut to be able to upload this... This was fun to make! A few things: I was able to beat the opponents faster than usual, since I entered the "BALL" code at the beginning. If I turn blocks while waiting for the opponent to die, it might manipulate the enemy to die later, so I didn't play around with turning that much. I did it sometimes when I made sure I wouldn't lose frames. (Most of the time, turning something just once would lose about 10 frames! Literally!) Completed for an Animation class, this stop-motion video consists of about 1000 photos of painted wooden blocks and bathroom tiles taken over a few days with sounds sourced from the original games. It's an homage to the games I grew up playing as a kid, the idea being that a glitch in a Tetris game causes the Tetris blocks to invade and attack the other classics, Pong, Asteroids and Snake. Check out my other student stuff at astonr.com
Just a relaxing stroll through Yoshi's Island with a few blocks on the side.
