Adam Clayton on a possible U2 EP
On the eve of the tour, deep in the bowels of the Stadio Olimpico in Turin, we caught up with Adam, taking a break from rehearsals for the opening night. After the postponement of the North American dates, he tells us, it's great to be back on stage - and to be putting new songs into the show. We've been writing and recording, he says, 'We've got quite a lot of tunes put away...'

( U2's) Adam Clayton's PA gets 7 years for theft .
U2 bassist Adam Clayton's former personal assistant Carol Hawkins has been sentenced to seven years in prison for stealing €2.8m of his money. Hawkins was last week convicted on 181 counts of theft from the bassist's bank accounts over a four-year period. Clayton was not in court as the 49-year-old was led away by prison guards. She stared straight ahead as Judge Patrick McCartan delivered the sentence. "Nothing, frankly, could explain away the scale of this dishonesty other than the greed in pursuit of a lavish lifestyle that was no responsibility of Mr Clayton's," said Judge McCartan. He said the fact Ms Hawkins maintained her innocence throughout the trial was a factor in his sentencing and suggested if given an opportunity to commit a similar crime in the future, he was not entirely confident she would resist. "These were crimes rooted in greed and nothing else," he said. "Whether she was a fool or clever person really matters very little." The judge also made an order that the proceeds of a sale of an apartment in New York bought by her be handed over to Mr Clayton.

A new film combing animation with live action conceived and directed by Joshua Frankel, about the architecture of New York City blasting off into outer space and resettling on Mars. The film’s visuals are an animated collage combining live action footage, animated elements, illustrations and treated photographs, including photos taken by the Mars rovers Spirit and Opportunity made available to the public domain by the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Plan of the City was created in collaboration with composer Judd Greenstein and NOW Ensemble, an acclaimed "indie classical" chamber ensemble; the ensemble, including Greenstein, feature prominently in the film as live actors set inside the animated framework.
The audio of the film consists solely of Greenstein's Change, performed by NOW Ensemble; Change and Plan of the City were created in parallel, each expressing its own artistic intention while simultaneously serving its "sibling".
The film was presented with the music performed live, timed to the film, at Le Poisson Rouge in New York City in May, 2011. It also exists as its own stand-alone entity, utilizing NOW Ensemble's recent studio recording of Change(out on New Amsterdam Records).

Driving To Montgomery
"Driving To Montgomery" from Randall's Bramblett's album The Meantime featuring Bramblett on piano and vocals accompanied by Gerry Hansen on drums and percussion and Chris Enghauser on upright bass with special guests Adam McKnight and Charles Bullock on backing vocals.
"Davis Causey and I wrote this song several years back as a story about two people who left the south because of civil rights issues and headed north to start a new life only to find that they missed their home in Alabama. There’s a mixture of hope and irony when they say “the times have changed” in Montgomery. We used something close to a second line beat and Dixie Hummingbirds style backing vocals to conjure up the right feel." Randall Bramblett
Randall Bramblett's beautiful new CD The Meantime, marks a departure for the highly acclaimed multi-instrumentalist and songwriter who is best known for his work with Steve Winwood, Traffic, Levon Helm, Sea Level, Gregg Allman, Bonnie Raitt, Widespread Panic and more. On his 8th solo album, Bramblett performs primarily on acoustic piano, organ, and lead vocals. The CD features 12 original tracks, including some of Bramblett’s earliest songs such as “Sacred Harmony,” “Witness For Love,” and “One More Rose” as well as newer, unreleased compositions. A sultry blend of ambient folk, jazz, traditional piano and seductive vocals, the music on The Meantime is romantic and mesmerizing in the vein of Norah Jones or The Blue Nile.
"Driving To Montgomery" Written by Randall Bramblett and Davis Causey. Recorded and mixed by John Keane at John Keane Studios, Athens, GA. Adam Clayton U2 Bassist Has $4 Million Stolen By Personal Assistant
Adam Clayton bassist for the rock band U2 was astonished to learn that his personal assistant Carol Hawkins had stolen nearly $4 million from his bank account over a four year period $600000 of which went to the purchase of several thoroughbred horses. The musician expressed his amazement at the news while taking the stand on Thursday at Dublin's Circuit Criminal Court. Hawkins faces 181 charges of theft for her role in lifting an incredible sum of money from Clayton's two personal bank accounts. In addition to the 22 horses she purchased with the nicked funds Hawkins and her husband also purchased a $44000 dollar apartment in New York City. Clayton stated that he had no knowledge of the NYC pad which she bankrolled by transferring monies from his account to hers by check. It was astonishing and revealed a whole side of Carol Hawkins I had never seen before Clayton explained. The basist first met the couple at a Caribbean hotel in 1992. The pair were running the establishment at the time which apparently greatly impressed Clayton. He soon hired Hawkins to run his household while he was on tour with the band a position which included shopping, cleaning and cooking. Before long Hawkins had been bumped up to assistant status giving her access to all of Clayton's personal accounts in the process. Hawkins who pled not guilty to the charges said that she had permission to write the checks and that the horses were for Clayton's enjoyment. The musician stated that he has no ...
