The big news in American politics this week may have little to do with American politicians. Xi Jinping, the likely future leader of China, is visiting the United States, and his time in America may signal how the world's fastest-growing economic and military power may conduct itself in the coming decades. The 58-year-old Xi comes from a family steeped in China's volatile history; his father both served as one of Mao's trusted advisors but later was persecuted and even jailed by the Communist leader. Xi senior also helped engineer some of the country's economic reforms, contributing to China becoming a power that rivals the United States more every day. He also reportedly advocated for negotiating with Tibetans during an uprising, rather than using China's military brute force against them. Like father like son? Xi junior, who is poised to become the Communist Party's general secretary, could also be reform-minded. It's something we won't know for some years, but American leaders are looking for clues.

www.euronews.com The Palestinian group Hamas has confirmed that an Israeli air strike has killed the head of its military wing. Ahmed Al-Jaabari, died along with a passenger after their car was hit by a missile on Wednesday while travelling in Gaza city. He becomes the most senior official of the Islamist faction to be killed since an Israeli invasion of Gaza four years ago. Following the assassination immediate calls for revenge were broadcast over Hamas Radio, and the two sides could be on the brink of a new war. The attack comes despite signs that Egypt had managed to broker a truce following a five day surge of violence which saw 100 missiles fired by Palestinian militants to which Israel responded. Israel's Shin Bet domestic intelligence service said it had carried out the attack due to what it called Jaabari's "decade-long terrorist activity" It said it hoped to "severely impair the command and control of the Hamas leadership." www.euronews.com ECOWAS troops with UN backing may soon be on their way into northern Mali following agreement at the UN. West Africa's regional bloc, meeting in Nigeria, agreed on Sunday to send 3300 troops, mostly from Nigeria, Burkina Fasso and Niger, and want to have battle plans ready for UN approval by the end of November. The force may be joined by other African nations, and two or three non-African states. "We are waiting for the green light from the UN Security Council which we expect hopefully by the end of this month, or the beginning of December, and the intervention forces will be in place a few days after that," said ECOWAS chairman and Ivory Coast President Alassane Outtara. The Malian government has appealed for help after losing the northern half of its territory to a now-fractured alliance of Tuareg rebels and Islamic militants. The former, along with Islamic group Ansar Dine are now in talks after infighting with al-Qaeda-affiliated groups. The Tuaregs rose after what they claim is years of neglect from Bamako, while Ansar Dine wants Sharia law for Mali's muslim north, but neither seem to want al-Qaeda taking over their struggle. Judges at the Special Immigration Appeals Commission court, which deals with national security deportations. Has ruled today that Qatada won't be deported back to Jordan to face terrorist charges because of concerns evidence obtained by torture would be used against him. He will be released from Long Lartin prison in Worcestershire on Tuesday, and must obey a curfew. The government said it would seek to appeal against the ruling. So far the cleric once described by a judge as Osama bin Laden's right-hand man in Europe, has challenged and avoided every effort by the Government over the last 10 years to stand trial in Jordan. He has been subject to lengthy periods of detention since 2001 although he has never been charged with a crime in the UK. However experts say that whoever loses the case, is expected to seek a further hearing at the Court of Appeal - though the grounds for an appeal are likely to be limited. This is not a pro Assad account. This is just a truthful account. I am pro honesty. The Machiavellian tactics of the Global Elitist need to be exposed so that the world can move towards cooperation and survival of our Earth and Species. It is getting to be sink or swim, extinction or survival, and as I think we are moving towards being a more loving and kind species more spiritually and technologically awake, honesty is essential. Also, this is for educational purposes. Though our culture has forgotten what education is or what purpose it has.
