The Grand Prix of Cleveland was an Indy car event in the CART series, held annually at Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland, Ohio. The race celebrated its milestone 25th anniversary in 2006. The race was most recently held in 2007. After the 2008 open wheel unification, the 2008 race had to be cancelled. Attempts to revive the race have not yet come to fruition.
Normally a fully functioning airport year-round, Burke Lakefront Airport was shut down for the week leading up to the event each year, requiring careful maintenance of the runways in order to keep them safe for cars at high speeds. Even so, drivers regularly note the race was one of the toughest to drive in the Champ Car series as the track, designed for aircraft and not lightweight race cars, makes for a bumpy ride where grip is paramount. The first turn was often the trickiest and most accident prone parts of the race. Many drivers have been eliminated from the race due to this turn.
Throughout its history, the race was very popular amongst fans, as the long, wide, runways (much wider and longer than typical natural road courses and other temporary circuits) allowed for side-by-side racing, fast speeds, and superb passing zones. The layout and overall flatness of the circuit also allowed a view of nearly the entire course from the grandstands.
The 1977 Colgate-Palmolive Grand Prix was a professional tennis circuit administered by the International Lawn Tennis Federation (ILTF, later the ITF) which served as a forerunner to the current Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) World Tour and the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Tour. The circuit consisted of the four modern Grand Slam tournaments and open tournaments recognised by the ILTF. The Colgate-Palmolive Masters is included in this calendar but did not count towards the Grand Prix ranking. Colgate-Palmolive was the new tour sponsor, taking over from Commercial Union. Guillermo Vilas won the Grand Prix circuit, having accumulated the most points (2,047), and received the largest share from the bonus pool ($300,000). The top eight points ranked singles players as well as the top four doubles teams qualified for the season-ending Masters tournament
The 1995 Skoda Grand Prix was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place between 16–29 October 1995 at the Crowtree Centre in Sunderland, England.
Stephen Hendry defeated defending champion John Higgins 9–5 in a rather scrappy final.
The breakdown of prize money for this year is shown below:
The 1981 Volvo Grand Prix was the only men's professional tennis circuit held that year. It consisted of the four Grand Slam tournaments and the Grand Prix tournaments. The World Championship Tennis (WCT) Tour was incorporated into the Grand Prix circuit. The WCT tour consisted of eight regular tournaments, a season's final, three tournaments categorized as special events and a doubles championship. In total 89 tournaments were held divided over 29 countries. The circuit was administered by the Men's International Professional Tennis Council (MIPTC).
The table below shows the 1981 Volvo Grand Prix schedule (precursor to the ATP Tour).
The tournaments listed above were divided into twelve point categories. The highest points were allocated to the Grand Slam tournaments; French Open, the Wimbledon Championships, the US Open and the Australian Open. Points were allocated based on these categories and the finishing position of a player in a tournament. The points table is based on a 32 player draw. No points were awarded to first-round losers and advancements by default were equal to winning a round. The points allocation, with doubles points listed in brackets, is as follows:
Cleveland is a city in the U.S. state of Texas, within Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land metropolitan area and Liberty County. The population was 7,954 at the 2010 census.
In 1854, a church and convent was built by Father Peter La Cour near the town's present site.
The town began forming in 1878 when Charles Lander Cleveland, a local judge, donated 63.6 acres (257,000 m2) of land to the Houston East & West Texas Railway (now part of the Union Pacific Railroad) for use as a stop, requesting that the town be named for him. Since 1900 Cleveland has served as the junction of this line and the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe (now the BNSF Railway). The town was not incorporated until 1935.
The forests around Cleveland, including Sam Houston National Forest, which is located just to its north, are a resort for many inhabitants of the Houston area, who come to camp, hike, hunt, and fish. Cleveland has several historic sites and public recreational facilities, including two parks. The Austin Memorial Library Center offers a wide range of services to the community, and the Texan Theater and the annual livestock show and rodeo, Dairy Days, provide entertainment. Commercially, Cleveland has been a shipping point for timber, lumber, and lumber byproducts since the 1870s. A large medical community, oil, gas, cattle, farm products, and sand and gravel are important to the town's economy. The general trend toward urbanization of the entire area is reflected by the fact that in 1965 Liberty County was added to the Houston Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population of Cleveland grew from 1,200 in 1930 to 7,605 according to the census of 2000.
Cleveland is a surname. Notable people with the surname include:
Cleveland is a city in Bradley County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 41,285 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat and largest city in Bradley County, and the principal city of the Cleveland, Tennessee metropolitan area (consisting of Bradley County and neighboring Polk County), which is included in the Chattanooga-Cleveland-Dalton combined statistical area. Cleveland is the fourteenth largest city in Tennessee and the fifth-largest industrially with twelve Fortune 500 manufacturers.
In 1819, the Cherokee Agency— the official liaison between the U.S. government and the Cherokee Nation— was moved to the Hiwassee area, a few miles north of what is now Cleveland. The Indian agent was Colonel Return J. Meigs. Charleston and Blythe's Ferry (about 15 miles, or 24 kilometers, west of Cleveland) would both figure prominently in the Cherokee Removal in the late 1830s.
The legislative act that created Bradley County in 1836 authorized the establishment of a county seat, which was to be named "Cleveland" after Colonel Benjamin Cleveland, a commander at the Battle of Kings Mountain during the American Revolution. The commissioners chose "Taylor's Place," the home of Andrew Taylor, as the location for the county seat, due largely to the site's excellent water sources. By 1838, Cleveland already had a population of 400, and was home to two churches (one Presbyterian, the other Methodist), and a school, the Oak Grove Academy. The city was incorporated on February 4, 1842, and elections for mayor and aldermen were held shortly afterward.

2007 Grand Prix of Cleveland presented by LaSalle Bank Champ Car World Series Burke Lakefront Airport, Cleveland, OH June 24, 2007 The 2007 Champ Car World Series comes to the 5th round of the championship, the Champ Car Grand Prix of Cleveland. To date, it is the last running of the Cleveland open-wheel race, but I hope in the future it can find a place on the IndyCar schedule once again. This race was action-packed with lots of incidents. This was CBS's only race of the 2007 season and it is also to date the last Champ Car/IndyCar race that I've seen on CBS. The quality is a bit iffy as it is my last video recorded on my really old TV. Paul Tracy was being his aggressive self early in the race, getting himself into two separate accidents. He somehow recovered to take his final win...

Round 6 of the 2006 Champ Car season at Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland. Enjoy what was a wild race everyone!
Round 7 of the 1989 CART season brings us to one of the most fondly-remembered temporary circuits, the Cleveland Burke Lakefront Airport. Known for its ultra-wide and near infinite run-off area, this track has always been the site of fantastic battles with ample room for passing. After a tough event at the Portland Grand Prix can young Ryan rebound and hold his points lead? With three more road rounds before returning to the high-speed ovals, every position and point is important! This is a full-distance “Hardcore” season. I've been wanting to do this for a long time. Very much looking forward to the 15 rounds ahead in one of my favorite sims of all time! Shadow Man
Miscellaneous
I'm Still A Man
So my existence you won't admit
I don't give two fuckin shits
Cause I'm still a man, bitch
I'm still a man
You see these eyes?
They'll see more than you'll ever see
I see you dyin hangin from a redwood tree
You see this hand
There's some power in these fingers
To knock you into next week, send you to the fuckin cleaners
You see this nose
I smell your blood, boilin from the stress of smokin-crack overload
You see this mouth
I can say words, I can say worlds,
I can scream till my throat beings to burn
So my existence you won't admit
I don't give two fuckin shits
Cause I'm still a man, bitch
I'm still a man, I'm a man
So my existence you won't admit
I don't give two fuckin shits
Cause I'm still a man, bitch
I'm still a man
So you all act high and mighty
Actin like your the fuckin queen, one of the Earth's highly
And that I'm a worm, somethin to be squashed down
Under your shoe until I'm too broken up to be found
I've done more than you ever will
I've seen people, places, and the whole fuckin world
I've heard things that will make your heart melt
Or make you want to melt
Because your eyes burn from cryin over
Spilled milk, it's sick work, what we do
We take a man and make him so he's under you
So he's below you, he's not one of you,
He's just a solitary figure in the underwood,
Underground, can't be found, doesn't even
Fuckin exist, he's just a speck of wasted semen
But you know what? One day I'll find you
And torment you, and destroy you, cause you know what?
I'll be your boss when you work that day
I'll be your husband who beats you with the rake
I'll be the friend that backstabs you
That leaves you gutless in the midst of your parents, siblings, and your cousins
Cause I'm above you, I'm above this, cause you know what bitch?
I'm a man, I'm a man, better get used to hearing that
So my existence you won't admit
I don't give two fuckin shits
Cause I'm still a man, bitch
I'm still a man, I'm a man
So my existence you won't admit
I don't give two fuckin shits
Cause I'm still a man, bitch
I'm still a man
Now I thought I told you, so let me show you,
Paint you a fuckin picture or two
See this muscle, the tendons, see the joints of my bones?
The organs under it that are almost fully grown?
You see the skin on me
You see the tears that I've cried, and the anger that's bubbling?
You see the happiness of what could be?
Of what will be, if everyone would just stop and see me?
You see the grief, and the strife, and the fear,
I'm a speaker, I'm a doer, I'm a seer
I'm a weapon, I'm inventin
A way to light the dark path that you're descendin
Cause you know you're going to hell,
If you check the sins you've done and you've done them so well
You gotta realize, you can't criticize
Just because I'm different doesn't mean I'm not alive
I think, I breathe, I hear, I see,
I know, I walk, I speak, I search
For a way to feel like a brother in this fucked-up perch full of motherfuckers
So if you don't see it now, if you don't feel it now
What can I do but turn away from you now
Before I do somethin I will regret
Cause you and I know deep down you're ain't even worth shit
So my existence you won't admit
I don't give two fuckin shits
Cause I'm still a man, bitch
I'm still a man
So my existence you won't admit
I don't give two fuckin shits
Cause I'm still a man, bitch
I'm still a man
