Susan Alice Buffett (born 1953) is the daughter of Warren Buffett. She is also an American philanthropist, her charitable work has focused largely on the Sherwood Foundation, formerly known as the Susan A. Buffett Foundation, an organization in Omaha that provides grants in public education, human services and social justice in the interest of promoting the welfare of children from lower-income families. She is also on the boards of the Buffett Foundation and Girls, Inc. According to a 2010 interview with her brother Howard Graham Buffett, Buffett's philanthropic focus has consistently remained on children, education and family issues, but she has also committed to other causes, including Debt, AIDS, Trade, Africa, a non-governmental organization dedicated to various improvements in Africa.

Born in Omaha in 1953, Buffett, commonly called Susie, is the eldest child of Warren Buffett and his first wife, Susan Thompson Buffett. In 1954, her family relocated to New York, where her father's wealth began to rapidly accumulate. By the late 1970s, the family had returned to Omaha and her parents separated (though they remained married until her mother's death in 2004). Notwithstanding his wealth, Warren Buffett encouraged his children to be financially independent; Buffett recalled in 2006 that in spite of his generosity her father once refused her a personal loan of $41,000 to expand her kitchen.

Alice Buffett is a political figure and linguist from the Australian territory of Norfolk Island.

In 1981 Alice Buffett stood for, and was elected to serve as, a member of the Norfolk Legislative Assembly.

Alice Buffett is also a noted linguist. She is the author of "Speak Norfuk Today", widely recognised as the most complete resource on the Norfuk language in existence; this work was prepared with the collaboration of the late Dr. Donald Laycock of the Australian National University.

Warren Edward Buffett (/ˈbʌfɨt/; born August 30, 1930) is an American business magnate, investor, and philanthropist. He is widely considered the most successful investor of the 20th century. He is the primary shareholder, chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. He is consistently ranked among the world's wealthiest people. He was ranked as the world's wealthiest person in 2008 and is the third wealthiest person in the world as of 2011. In 2012, American magazine Time named Buffett one of the most influential people in the world.

Buffett is called the "Wizard of Omaha", "Oracle of Omaha", or the "Sage of Omaha" and is noted for his adherence to the value investing philosophy and for his personal frugality despite his immense wealth. Buffett is also a notable philanthropist, having pledged to give away 99 percent of his fortune to philanthropic causes, primarily via the Gates Foundation. On April 11, 2012, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Buffett was born in 1930 in Omaha, Nebraska, the second of three children and only son of U.S. Representative Howard Buffett, a fierce critic of the interventionist New Deal domestic and foreign policy, and his wife Leila (née Stahl). Buffett began his education at Rose Hill Elementary School in Omaha. In 1942, his father was elected to the first of four terms in the United States Congress, and after moving with his family to Washington, D.C., Warren finished elementary school, attended Alice Deal Junior High School, and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1947, where his senior yearbook picture reads: "likes math; a future stock broker."

Tom Northcott (born Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, August 29, 1943) is a Canadian folk-rock singer with hits in the late 1960s and early 1970s. He was nominated as best male vocalist for a Juno Award in 1971. Later he co-founded Mushroom Studios in Vancouver and produced records. He once stood for public office, unsuccessfully, for the Social Credit Party in a British Columbia provincial election in East Vancouver. His hits are played regularly on Canadian classic rock radio stations.

"She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not" (1965) was by "Tom Northcott & the Vancouver Playboys"; the Playboys were an established band that had played around British Columbia since 1962. Northcott joined the band on a tour in 1965, and issued the single on his own label. The 1966 singles were by "The Tom Northcott Trio", which consisted of Tom Northcott, Chris Dixon (drums), and Rick Enns (bass).

Michael Kirk Douglas (born September 25, 1944) is an American actor and producer, primarily in movies and television. He has won three Golden Globes and two Academy Awards; as producer of 1975's Best Picture, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and as Best Actor in 1987 for his role in Wall Street. Douglas received the AFI Life Achievement Award in 2009. He is the eldest of actor Kirk Douglas's four sons.

Douglas was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, the first child of actor Kirk Douglas and Bermudian-born actress Diana Dill. His paternal grandparents were Jewish immigrants from Gomel in Belarus (at that time a part of the Russian Empire). His mother was from Devonshire Parish, Bermuda; Douglas's maternal grandfather, Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Melville Dill, served as Attorney General of Bermuda and was commanding officer of the Bermuda Militia Artillery. Douglas has a younger brother, Joel Douglas (born 1947), and two paternal half-brothers, Peter Douglas (born 1955) and Eric Douglas (1958–2004), from stepmother Anne Buydens.
