Portal 2 - Meet The Cores
A short Portal film, loosely made in the style of a Team Fortress 2 'Meet The Team' video. Featuring several of the favourite cores, and a couple of new ones! Made over 3 weeks in my spare time. This started as a very quick visual test, but grew into something a little bigger. I'm not 100% happy with it, but it was a good learning experience! It's supposed to be a half-documentary, half-cinematic style short; hopefully that comes across! There are also a few things I wanted to add to this, but I'll probably save them for later videos! ;) ----- | Created by | Editing | Animation | Music | Harry Callagan - www.youtube.com | Personality-Core 3D Model Rig | Ego Core Design | Gleb Lvov - www.youtube.com | Rusty | Glitchy Cores | Christopher Thomson - www.youtube.com |Ego Core | Sean Oxspring - www.youtube.com | Other Music | Valve / Mike Morasky Tobuscus (Dramatic Song Theme) ----- VFX Breakdown - www.youtube.com ----- Follow me if you want: =) Facebook: www.facebook.com Twitter: @Harry101UK Tumblr: harrycallaghan.tumblr.com ----- Software Used: Video Editing - Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 Image Editing - Adobe Photoshop CS5 Animation | Rendering - 3DS MAX 12 Audio Editing - Audacity Autotuning - Melodyne Studio 3 Music | Radio | Reverb Effects - Reason 5 Game - Portal 2 | Steam -----

SEE THE NEW BEFORE & AFTER SIDE BY SIDE COMPARISON OF PORTAL: TERMINAL VELOCITY, HERE: www.youtube.com UPDATE! (Jun 27 2012) The video has been updated since I first posted it, but I'm not able to simply replace videos on Youtube, so if you want to watch the corrected version, here's the link to the Vimeo version: vimeo.com . A very simple mistake on my part that I should've caught, and you probably wont even notice. Since many of you are trying to figure out the mistake, it happens during the falling section when he is looking down, about 1:43. Instead of the camera being in right hand, it is in the left hand instead. The footage was flipped in post by accident, and I did not realize it after the fact. The footage is on a 2D card in 3D space, and in 3D space where looking up at the 2D footage from behind, so there fore it appears reversed. (Make sense)? AE guys should understand. DESCRIPTION: My interpretation of what a real Portal gun would be like if one existed. Based on the video game, Portal. I tried to match the game as close as possible. This was not done by any large company or a VFX team, but merely just by myself as a hobby. This was the most challenging project I have ever undertaken, consisting of 3D tracking, seamless camera cuts and 3D camera projection. ENJOY! The Visual Effects. Breakdowns will follow so watch for that. For those of you that think the gun is a physical prop you can buy, well.....sorry to break the news to you, but it's entirely CG. The 3D ...

Portal Movie Trailer
I saw this really cool short film directed by Dan Trachtenberg related to Valve's Portal. I made a trailer for a fake Portal Movie with clips from the short and added in my own subtitles. fbhadha.squarespace.com Like All my videos the footage isn't mine but almost everything you hear is, aside from the obvious stuff that would be impossible to replicate. I was going to use my own Portal Gun sounds but I found the ones used in the videos stayed true the games. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend that you watch the real version before watching this one. As this is cut up to be made into a trailer it will ruin the actual short for you www.youtube.com I hope you Enjoyed my Trailer. If anyone has any Ideas for my next project please comment below.

Finding Oregon is the compilation of six months of timelapse photography across the state of Oregon, punctuated by a 1600 mile road trip in September. We've filmed the Columbia River Gorge, Mt Hood, Mt Jefferson, the Southwestern Coast, the Alvord Desert, Leslie Gulch, Blue Mountains, Crater Lake, Eagle Cap Wilderness, Deschutes River, and more. We're proud to have touched all four corners of the state; however Oregon is the kind of place that the more you see, the more places there are to still discover.
The greatest challenge with this project was being in the right place at the right time. Night timelapse sequences particularly have an unexpected number of requirements to get the bright, stunning payoff. First, the moon should be around the New Moon phase (no moon) so as not to compete with outshining the stars, so that means we get about 5 days a month window. Next, weather must be cooperative with a dependable expectancy of cloudless skies. Here in Oregon, only the Summer months have good chance of clear skies, so only 1/4 of the year offers good chance of clear skies. So that means, we have three months in the year, with a 5 day window each month to plan with fingers crossed for epic star shooting conditions. That's only 15 days in a year. Then, you hope that something doesn't come up in regular life to pull you away to other obligations on those few days. It is a maddening challenge getting all the factors to line up to be in the right place at the right time. But, when it does happen- it is such a satisfying feeling!
Behind the scenes video and photos will be posted at

Amazing Bottom Slap!
A special thanks to the girls from Pearl London.
Please visit our website for more slow motion film tests http://www.photography-factory.co.uk
No harm done, Lola giggled a little and said it was all normal for her and that she had suffered much worse in the name of art or curiosity. We learned a lot from the results, but...there is one strange thing. Everyone who was there that day is still finding tiny little bits of red glitter turning up everywhere in their daily life, at home, in the car, on clothes, even on other people we meet? etc We are all sure we have never seen red glitter before but now the stuff keeps catching our eye and making us smile. Now even after many days we are still finding it on objects that are 60 miles away from the shoot and have never been near the studio??? I think we opened a portal in time and space with that spank..... Please do comment if you find some yourself...
On analysing the film we noticed a few things, one that we should have seen that pimple on her butt before shooting and filmed from the other side..... we could of course remove it in post, but as these are experiments we though we would leave it in as a permanent reminder. Notes to selves, Next time: get the biggest monitor possible when using the phantom under big lights. Also maybe to not be shy... and look at what you are about to film in every tiny detail (no mater how distracting) before saying action. If you are being picky Lola could also be a little higher in the frame, we argued this at the time as that is a trade off; because then she would look elevated and we felt that looked a little unnatural. Also when Eva's arm comes in, it would look quite short and you would not be able to follow the swing though, it would appear in frame later, which kills that little bit of anticipation and lengthens the gap between the shadow coming across and being able to see the GBH (Glitter Bad hand) swinging in.
If you liked this film, please take a good look at our other experiments here or at our website: http://www.photography-factory.co.uk where we will also post stills and a fully detailed technical breakdown, as well as unedited versions when we have a moment.
In this test we were using a Vision Research Phantom HD slow motion camera shooting to a 120 gig ram stack at 1000frames per second, the lens was a 35mm Carl Zeiss Planar T* wide open.
If you are inspired by this or any or our videos please leave a good comment.
If you are an agency minion do not rip us off, you can if you like get some slow motion viral photography at low cost made by us! info@photography-factory.co.uk please get in contact we are a lot of fun to work with. At photography-factory are are very experienced in slow motion, quite reasonable, and (just about) make our livings from creative film and photography. Plus we need some more money to pay for better tests...
No babes, hot or otherwise were harmed* in the making of this film.
We really hope someone see this and likes what we have done enough to tell his/her company to use some of our raw talent... and pay us some raw cash.
Virals should be fun.

We are so excited to present the short film "Cloudy", an art piece with the purpose to transcend its viewers to a relaxed and joyous state. It will be premiering on i am OTHER via Pharrell Williams’ brand new cultural movement, an entertainment based portal online. Read on to be transported to the clouds!
This short is an exploration into the Clouds. The idea of clouds singing and performing their duties in a joyful manner show us that everything in our world has a role and a purpose.
A sweet visual soundscape that takes the viewer through a personal journey into the sky. Sing, dance and relax as you follow a sweet cast of clouds and raindrops through an entrancing adventure you'll wish to take over and over again.

ABU DHABI 2011 - time lapse film (shorter version)
The definitive version of 'Abu Dhabi - 2011' time lapse film.
It features the phenomenal original score by Vladimir Persan.
Do yourself a favour and watch this film with high quality speakers because the music Vlad composed truly deserves to be heard in all of its glory.
Hook your computer to multi-media speakers, home stereo, TV or headphones but DO NOT, for the sake of all that is holy, listen to the sound on the laptop's crappy built-in speaker or just as unforgivably; muted!!
UPDATE - 12 MARCH 2012 - Vladimir Persan's Original Soundtrack wins the nomination for 'BEST ORCHESTRAL/INSTRUMENTAL SONG at Hollywood Music in Media Awards 2012' !!!!
I’d like to thank Timesand Studios for their support on this project. I absolutely must thank Vladimir Persan for his help and the time and efforts he invested into creating the amazing original score. I would also like to extend my gratitude to the obliging staff of Arabian Construction Company and Arabtec - their project managers were utterly helpful and understanding - and all the safety staff that catered to my every need throughout the shoot. Lastly, I want to extend my super-special thanks to Mr. Ousama Ghannoum, Marketing and Media Director of Aldar. Without his help, this film would’ve never seen the light.
There was quite a media frenzy about this film; below are some of the newspapers, magazines and even TV networks that interviewed me:

The Magic Portal
This is the first Lego animation or "Brickfilm" as some people would call it, ever made, by a genius named "Lindsay Fleay". It was created in Perth, Western Australia between the years of 1985 and 1989! I talked to Lindsay and he gave me permission to upload this to my Youtube channel. Normally I wouldn't upload someone else's work, but I had to spread the word on this classic. Here's the blurb from Lindsay's website: www.rakrent.com "The Magic Portal is a short stop motion film that uses LEGO®, plasticene, cardboard and pixellated live action, made between the years of 1985 and 1989 on good ol' fashioned 16mm film. The story concerns the strange fate of a LEGO astronaut called L, who discovers the Magic Portal on board his giant spaceship. The Portal takes him to a strange and surreal LEGO world where he has a close encounter with a Monster and barely escapes with his life. His report to Captain Paranoia only gets him to trouble and his friend and shipmate P, doesn't believe him. However, the Portal has a mind of its own, and reappears to upset the cosy world of the giant spaceship and its crew to reveal weirder worlds more peculiar than the last..."

bit.ly - Click to Subscribe! Facebook.com - Become a Fan! Twitter.com - Follow Us! Watch Portal: No Escape - youtu.be Whats up guys, Im Tatiana carrier and IVe got the details on a portal short that we think may have big budget potential! A fan made short based on the highly successful Portal video game franchise recently debuted on YouTube entitled, Portal, no escape. The short was directed by Dan Trachtenberg who recently took to twitter about the release saying, "1.5 years in the making, it is finally out. Looking forward to hearing what you think!" And we are thinking maybe, just maybe if this youtube released short gets enough views, it may just make it to the big screen! A fun fact about this short, The score you hear in it is by Mike Zarin, best known as the composer of the music in the first Inception trailer...which is kinda a big deal! Say something like " Portal, no escape stars Danielle Rayne and can be found on youtube! You can click the link in our description to watch it for yourself and tell us what you think! Also, let us know if you think this short is good enough to be a major motion picture! While your at it, be sure to subscribe to our page! Thanks for hanging out, see ya soon!
