MAP Annual Dinner 2012: Lebanon - The forgotten refugees
Medical Aid for Palestinians Annual Gala Fundraising Dinner will be held on Thursday 20th September, at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel. This is one of our most important events, allowing us the chance to raise awareness of the health needs of thousands of Palestinians living in terrible conditions
It was 30 years ago that Dr Swee Chai Ang was forced at gunpoint to leave the Gaza hospital in Sabra and Shatila refugee camp, where she worked tirelessly to save lives during the unfolding massacre. She will be giving an eyewitness account of these tragic events that unfolded in 1982.
We are delighted to announce that leading politician David Miliband MP will be speaking after his recent visit to the West Bank and Gaza, and British journalist John McCarthy CBE will also share his experience of being taken hostage whilst working in Lebanon.

MAP Annual Dinner 2008
The 2008 Annual Dinner raised over £383,000 for health projects in Lebanon and Palestine.
The event was a sell out. MAP's supporters were extremely generous, and we appreciate the strong support of the community and individuals.
Raji Sourani's (Palestinian Center for Human Rights) eloquent speech drew attention to the situation in Gaza, and Baroness Kennedy drew attention to the larger context of refugees in Lebanon and ongoing occupation and land annexation in the West Bank.

Jon Snow and HE Afif Safieh were fantastic and entertaining auctioneers. Vanessa Redgrave, a MAP supporter, kindly donated 4 tickets to her new play and dinner afterwards, to raise money for MAP projects. Jon Snow and Lord Steel also auctioned themselves off to raise money for MAP projects.
