Madeleine Peyroux (born January 1, 1973, Athens, Georgia, United States) is an American jazz singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Peyroux (French pronunciation: [madˈlɛn pɛˈʁu]) is noted for her vocal style, which has been compared to that of Billie Holiday.

Peyroux has cited Billie Holiday, Bessie Smith, Patsy Cline, Édith Piaf, Leonard Cohen, Johnny Mercer, Charlie Chaplin, Serge Gainsbourg and Bob Dylan as influences on her music.

Early life[link]

Peyroux's family was in academia. When Peyroux was six, her father moved the family to Brooklyn so he could pursue a career in acting. She grew up in New York City and southern California; when her parents divorced, she moved with her mother to Paris at age 13.^[1] In several interviews, Peyroux described her parents as "hippies" and classifies them as "eccentric educators", which helped her to pursue a career in music.^[2] She has stated that her father would "listen to old records all the time" and her mother had a ukulele that she learned how to play while she was still a child.^[3]

Peyroux started singing at the age of fifteen, when she discovered street musicians in the Latin Quarter in Paris. She joined a group called the Riverboat Shufflers, first by passing around the hat, and then by singing. At sixteen she joined The Lost Wandering Blues and Jazz Band and spent a number of years touring Europe performing jazz standards.^[4][5]

Her experiences provided the basis for her first album, Dreamland. The album was released in 1996 by Atlantic Records, and gained widespread attention. It featured a cover of Patsy Cline's "Walkin' After Midnight", Édith Piaf's signature-song "La Vie en rose" and two Bessie Smith covers, among others. This first record resulted in her being referred to as the 21st century Billie Holiday, particularly owing to a "Getting Some Fun Out of Life" cover and to "Hey Sweet Man", an original song with a style highly reminiscent of Holiday. Time called it "the most exciting, involving vocal performance by a new singer this year". Peyroux began opening for artists such as Sarah McLachlan and Cesária Évora, and made appearances at jazz festivals and on the Lilith Fair tour. In 1997, she made an appearance at the Montreal Jazz Festival, where she performed with some guest artists, including James Carter. In this concert, Madeleine performed some standards like "I Wish I Could Shimmy Like My Sister Kate", a cover included on Montreal's 30-years Best Of.

When Peyroux was scheduled to start recording again, she was diagnosed with a health problem on her vocal cords.^[6] By this time, she also had some disagreement with her record company, which led to a significant amount of time out of the spotlight and without recording.

1997–2003: pairing with William Galison[link]

Peyroux spent much of the next six years busking in Paris, performing occasionally in clubs in the U.S., and generally living a low-key existence. She continued to contribute to works by other artists, but rarely appeared in clubs under her own name. In 1997, she covered the song "Life is Fine" as a Rainer Ptácek tribute.^[7] She sings a soulful duet, "A Fool at the Other", with American singer/songwriter Mick Reed on the album Courtney's Farm, by The Spring Valley Studs, which was released in 2003. The song appears again with the 2011 release of Mick Reed's album, Goodnight, Texas. In May 2002, she joined multi-instrumentalist William Galison, and together they appeared at such venues as the Bottom Line, Joe's Pub, and the Tin Angel. In 2003 the duo released a seven-song EP entitled Got You on My Mind, which they sold at shows and online. However, in 2003, their relationship ended. At the time, Peyroux was in negotiations with Rounder Records and showed the EP as demo. Although Peyroux claims she told the record company it was co-written with Galison, this has resulted in an ongoing lawsuit.^{[clarification needed]}

Got You on My Mind was re-released by Galison in August 2004; the original EP was expanded by the addition of four tracks by Galison.

[edit] Careless Love (2004) and Half the Perfect World (2006)

After signing up for Rounder, Peyroux was teamed with well-known record producer Larry Klein. In September 2004, she released her second solo album, Careless Love, to generally positive reviews. It went on to sell over a million copies worldwide and took her out of anonymity. The album opens with one of her best-known songs, a cover of Leonard Cohen's, "Dance Me to the End of Love", also featuring covers of Bob Dylan ("You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go"), Elliott Smith ("Between The Bars"), and Hank Williams ("Weary Blues"), among others. As usual, the album also contained a French track, "J'ai Deux Amours", and the only original track on the album was "Don't Wait Too Long" (in collaboration with Jesse Harris and Larry Klein). The songs she covered were mostly from the first half of the 20th century but her choices showed, according to several reviews, "impeccable taste".

Her third solo album, Half the Perfect World, was released on September 12, 2006. She collaborated with several artists, including Jesse Harris, Walter Becker, Larry Klein (who also produced the album), and k.d. lang, with whom Peyroux performed a cover of the Joni Mitchell song "River". Once again, the songs were carefully chosen, and she sang covers of more contemporary artists. Notable covers include "Blue Alert" and "Half the Perfect World" by Leonard Cohen/Anjani Thomas; "Smile" by Charlie Chaplin, John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons; a rendition of Serge Gainsbourg's "La Javanaise" and Tom Waits' "(Looking for) the Heart of Saturday Night". Unlike her previous album, Half the Perfect World had four original tracks.^[1]

On September 3, 2006, Peyroux performed a live session for Live from Abbey Road at Abbey Road Studios. She shared her episode with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Snow Patrol; it was aired in the UK on Channel 4 and in the USA on the Sundance Channel.^[8] On July 12, 2007, she was awarded Best International Jazz Artist at the BBC Jazz Awards.^[9]

[edit] Bare Bones (2009)

Her fourth solo album, Bare Bones, released on March 10, 2009, was a turning point in Peyroux's career with all original tracks. The album was produced by Larry Klein and she collaborated with songwriters Walter Becker, Joe Henry, David Batteau, and Julian Coryell. The album featured a sole Peyroux-penned composition, "I Must Be Saved", and its first single was "You Can't Do Me", a song with a soul-rock beat, a new style for the vocalist. The album received mostly favorable reviews and the lyrics were praised.^[10] After its release the singer toured in the United States, Canada, South America, Europe, and Asia.

On November 23, 2009, Somethin' Grand, Peyroux's first live concert album, was released. The DVD was filmed and recorded in Los Angeles in January 2009. Her set included nine out of the eleven songs of Bare Bonesand some others from the previous albums. The DVD also contained a documentary, Somethin' Grand - A Portrait of Madeleine Peyroux, which offered a glimpse of her background and history.^[11]

[edit] Standing on the Rooftop (2011)

On January 4, 2011, Peyroux announced through her website that she would release a new album that spring.^[12] On March 15, she announced the actual release date to be June 14, 2011, under Decca Records, and that the album was to consist mainly of her newly written songs.^[13] The album was produced by Craig Street (Norah Jones, k.d. Lang, Cassandra Wilson) and "signals a new approach for the musician as she carries her jazz sensibilities into rootsier territory".

She also offered a two-song preview of the new album: a cover of Beatles' song "Martha, My Dear" and a new original song "The Things I've Seen Today" which she co-wrote with vocalist/violinist Jenny Scheinman. The two-track EP was released on March 29. The album itself features contributions from Marc Ribot on guitar/banjo, Me'shell Ndegeocello on bass, drummer Charley Drayton (Keith Richards, Neil Young, Johnny Cash) and guitarist Chris Bruce (Seal, John Legend). The album was released on June 6, 2011. High-profile tour dates were to follow the release of the album.^[14]

In 2003 she collaborated with Mick Reed singing a duet entitled "A Fool at the Other" which appears on the album "Courtney's Farm" by The Spring Valley Studs. The song also appears on Mick Reed's "Goodnight, Texas" (2011) album. In 2008, Peyroux collaborated with Phil Roy on his third album, The Great Longing, as a duo on the track "Exceptionally Ordinary". Madeleine Peyroux also covered "In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning" from the Still Breathing soundtrack and "Life Is Fine" for a Rainer Ptácek tribute.

Peyroux is represented by American International Artists, a management group whose other artists include James Carter and Sarah Pedinotti.

Peyroux eschews publicity and keeps a low profile. She has dropped "out of sight" for extended periods of time, as when she spent several years busking after the release of her first record.^{[citation needed]}

Peyroux is an American of French descent; she occasionally sings in French but the majority of her songs are in English.^{[citation needed]}

The ballad "Don't Wait Too Long" was featured in an American national television ad campaign for Dockers San Francisco brand apparel and the entire song played over the closing credits of the movie The Answer Man, released in 2008. The song was also played in the 2006 film Last Holiday. A clip of her recording of "Blue Alert" was used in an Old Navy jeans advertisement in 2007. The song "A Prayer" from the album Dreamland was featured in the closing credits in the HBO television series Deadwood in the episode "E.B. Was Left Out".^{[citation needed]}

Stacie Joy Orrico (born March 3, 1986) is a Contemporary Christian and R&B singer, songwriter, and occasional actress. In 1998, she signed to ForeFront Records when she was 12 years old, and recorded her first album Genuine (2000), which sold 13,000 in the first week of release.

After her first album she signed to a new record label, Virgin Records, and started to record her self-titled album Stacie Orrico (2003). The album, which debuted at No. 59 on the Billboard 200, was certified gold with over 500,000 sales in the U.S. The first single "Stuck" reached number No. 52 on Billboard Hot 100,^[2] but achieved greater success worldwide. Her second single "(There's Gotta Be) More to Life" debuted at No. 30 on the Billboard Hot 100.^[3] Her self-titled album has achieved sales worldwide of over 3.5 million. In the same year, she made her first television appearance as an actress in two episodes of American Dreams.^[4][5]

She lost her label ForeFront Records in 2005 after 7 years and decided to concentrate on her music career and began writing her third album, Beautiful Awakening (2006). The first single "I'm Not Missing You" was released in August 2006. The second single, "So Simple", is the last single from her third album which never charted in the U.S.

Early life[link]

Orrico was born in Seattle, Washington to Italian-American parents.^{[citation needed]} The family later moved to Denver, Colorado. In Colorado, she took piano lessons from Cathy Paquette. Orrico is the middle child of five children; her siblings are Jesse, Rachel, Alicia, and Joshua. Both parents, Dean and Patti, loved to travel, requiring the family to move frequently. She grew up influenced by a wide-range of musical styles and was a member in the church choir; she oftentimes accompanied on the piano as the family sung Christian Hymns. At the age of 6 Stacie wrote her first song entitled 'Always Answer'.

Music career[link]

1998–2001: Beginning with pop career[link]

Orrico got her start in 1998 at the age of 12 by attending a Christian music festival, Praise in the Rockies, held in her then-home state of Colorado. Orrico inadvertently entered a high-stakes talent competition, and won. A ForeFront Records executive was on hand and approached her for a record deal. She later signed with them. In 2001, she toured with Destiny's Child on their Survivor U.S. tour.^[6]

Since then, she has released two albums. The first was Genuine (2000), which she recorded at age 14. It sold over 13,000 copies in the first week, the highest debut week sales ever for a female Christian artist. The album produced the hit single "Don't Look At Me" which topped Christian charts for ten consecutive weeks. The album had two #1 hits, as well as three more Top Ten singles. Genuine eventually sold 500,000 copies,^[7] giving the album Gold certification on word-of-mouth alone.

In 2001, 15-year-old Stacie released her only Christmas album, [Christmas Wish]. The 6 tracks were: "Christmas Wish," "Love Came Down," "O Holy Night," "What Child is This," "O Come All Ye Faithful," and "White Christmas."

[edit] 2002–2004: International success with Stacie Orrico

Her next effort, the more mainstream and self-titled album Stacie Orrico, was released in 2003 and charted in the U.S. Billboard Top 200 (debuting at #67), Australian ARIAnet and the United Kingdom albums charts. The first mainstream single from this album was "Stuck", which became a worldwide hit, reaching the Top 5 on the majority of the world's charts. This was followed by the single "(There's Gotta Be) More to Life", which peaked in the Top 20 in Australia (#11) and the UK (#12), although, overall, "Stuck" charted better, the exception being in the US. This was then followed by "I Promise", written by and Stacie Orrico(top 30 in the UK), and the final mainstream single "I Could Be the One" (top 40 in the UK on June 2004). Both singles were given limited releases and limited promotion, meaning they did not fare as well as the first two singles. The last three singles were only released to Christian radio in addition to "Strong Enough", which reached #1 as the CD's very first single. Stacie Orrico sold over 500,000 copies in the U.S., enough sales for a Gold certification. The album also sold 600,000 in Japan and an estimated 3.4 million copies worldwide.

In 2004, Orrico's songs "(There's Gotta Be) More to Life" and "Stuck" appeared on the Barbie Hit Mix.

She was nominated in 2004 for the first time at the 46th Annual Grammy Awards in the categorie Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album, but the award was given to Michael W. Smith.

[edit] 2005–2007: Beautiful Awakening

After her break she decided to work on her new album, called Beautiful Awakening which was set to be released worldwide on August 29, 2006; however, for reasons unknown, the release of the album was postponed in the US.^[8] In an interview, she said that the album was one of the best albums she has worked on and was a personal album; the songs are about her life and more. Though almost all of the songs from the new album leaked onto the internet, Beautiful Awakening was still released in Japan, the UK, and other countries. The album features production from Dallas Austin, Dwayne Bastiany, KayGee, and The Underdogs, and writing duties are performed by notable songwriters like She'kspere, Track & Field, Anthony Dent, Nate Butler and newcomer Novel and Orrico herself. The album sold 100,000 copies in Japan. ^[9]

The first single "I'm Not Missing You" went for radio ads on June 20, 2006, but due to little promotion was re-released in October. The song peaked at #19 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart. The second single from the album, "So Simple," was released in Asia in October 2006 and was released in Europe on January 27, 2007. The album release in the U.S. and Canada has been canceled and Orrico has no sign of an official U.S. release. "Beautiful Awakening" is available to purchase on iTunes.^[10]

In 2007, the belated release of Beautiful Awakening was postponed again. In March, Orrico announced to fans that Virgin Records was merging with Capitol Records and she had left them and would not be releasing the album with that label. She decided to take a long break again, but the break does not seem completely voluntary. Her record company terminated co-operation with Stacie and tour dates were called off. The background to these developments is unclear. On her Myspace it was announced that she would spend time in Africa.^[11]

[edit] 2008–present: Hiatus and Fourth studio album

After a long break from the public eye, Stacie Orrico headlined the QB Goes Live concert on March 15, 2008 in Cambodia, performing to an audience of over 50,000 at the Phnom Penh Olympic Stadium.^[12] Orrico also appeared at Singfest Festival in Singapore. She also held a short Japan tour in July 2008 in Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka. Orrico collaborated with producer and songwriter Toby Gad and Onree Gill in 2008.^[13] Orrico also collaborated with The Fray for their new album, the track was a cover of "Ready or Not" from The Fugees, the album was released in February 2012, the track is on the Deluxe Edition as a bonus track.

She independently released a new song called "Catch Me If You Can" on April 2, 2012. "Catch Me If You Can" is composed and performed by Orrico and The Gabe Cummins Orchestra.

Influences[link]

When asked about her influences, she responded: "All of my influences are very soulful musicians – my favorite artist is Lauryn Hill, and I've always loved Whitney Houston and Ella Fitzgerald – and I wanted to explore that direction more."^[14] She said when she was young, she listened to Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Destiny's Child and Celine Dion.^[15] Her other musical influences include Monica, Shirley Caesar and Alicia Keys.

Personal life[link]

After the release of Stacie Orrico and the singles from that album, Orrico decided she did not want to pursue her career in music any further, the Christian pop singer exited the business, returned to her family in Seattle and took a waitressing job at a neighborhood seafood restaurant. She started recording again and developed a new album Beautiful Awakening.

She is also best friends with Christian pop singer Rachael Lampa and R&B singer Jayms Madison. Orrico and Lampa have been friends since 2001 and have toured together. Orrico was a bridesmaid at Lampa's wedding in 2010.

In February 2007, Orrico left Virgin Records due to its merging with Capitol Records. Stacie Orrico then traveled to South Africa, as a volunteer with Cross-Cultural Solutions, to help children with AIDS. She has since returned from South Africa and currently resides in New York.^[11]

Tina Dico (born Tina Dickow on October 14, 1977) is a Danish singer-songwriter. She founded her own record label and releases her music independently, enjoying large success with her albums in her home country as well as critical acclaim across Europe. She is inspired by artists such as Tracy Chapman, Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen.

In Denmark she performs under her real name, Tina Dickow.

Background and personal life[link]

Tina Dico was born in Aabyhøj in Aarhus. At a very young age, her father who owned a big Hi-Fi stereo system in their basement introduced her to music. Tina's interest in playing music started in 8th grade on Åby skole,(or in English, Åby school) where she played in the cover-band 'Mel' who among other songs did a lot of Jimi Hendrix. This passion for music made her attend a boarding school called Sejergaardens Musikefterskole in 10th grade. When she started in high school she helped form the cover-band Fester Kester, who played at high school parties. At the age of 20 she got a part in the slightly erotic TV-show Karrusel, where she played opposite the 41-year old Peter Steen and Michael Falch. The show was on Danish TV in 1998.^[1] After playing the part, she had a lot of offers for other roles, but since she did not like being typecast as a naïve girl from Jutland, she rejected them all. After high school in 1997 she began at Aarhus University, where she studied comparative religion. But music was her passion, and she soon quit the university to study at The Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus. Which she eventually also quit to pursue her dream as a professional singer/songwriter.

In 1998, Tina introduced the other members of the band 'Fester Kester' to a song of her own, and their enthusiasm led them to enter, and win, two talent contests the same year: "Talentspot" on Danish TV2, and "Vi har scenen, har I musikken?" (We've got the stage, do you have the music?) in Aarhus. The band 'Tina Dickow and Sheriff' was formed in 1998, and later that year the single "Your Waste of Time" was released. It was picked as "Song of the Week" on Danish National Radio, DR P3, and led to some degree of fame.

After all this success, quite a lot of correspondences with different big record-companies began, and the rest of 1999 went with endless negotiations without results. The band had an acoustic tour around Denmark and a few concerts with full band in Copenhagen and Aarhus. A single with ”26 Friends” and ”Different” was recorded as a prelude to the Venue-tour. In 2000 the band was a part of the Venue-tour. They were paired with American singer Sandy Dillon and played concerts in Vega, Copenhagen, and Norway and Sweden.

Several conversations with established record labels followed after the success with "Your Waste of Time”, but Tina Dico was unhappy with the way they intended to market her. Instead she got a loan from a bank, and started her own record label, Finest Gramophone in 2000. The company’s first release was Tina Dico's Fuel in 2001. The response from the critics was modest, but they all saw her big potential as an artist. In 2001, Tina Dico also teamed up with her current manager, Jonathan Morley, at the Spot (music festival) in Aarhus. She signed a four-year contract with Jonathan, and during the 2002 MIDEM-festival in Cannes, France she signed with British KobAlt Music Publishing. In 2001 Tina also met Steffen Brandt, who had heard the cover Tina did of his song ”Alt Hvad Hun Ville Var At Danse” at a concert in Kerteminde. He got fascinated and was invited to one of her next concerts in Aarhus.

Finest Gramphone went on to sign another Danish act, Love Julie, which released two albums. Tina Dico says that she has no intention of signing future acts, due mostly to time constraints.

In the beginning of 2002, Tina Dico moved to England in an attempt to escape the cosy atmosphere in Denmark.

In 2002 Tina played her first duo-concerts with Steffen Brandt on Bornholm. Thanks to her contract with Jonathan Morley, she had the opportunity to step into the English music community, which led to a collaboration with Australian singer Holly Valance on the song "Send My Best." In 2005.

Tina wrote the album Notes during her stay in England, capturing the loneliness and fear of being alone in London. Notes was written while Tina lived in Richmond and later on Tenter Ground near Brick Lane in London. Notes was recorded in cooperation with her friend Dennis Ahlgren over two days in June 2003. The critics were very positive this time. It was meant to be an interlude between Fuel and In The Red, but since it got all this success Notes was released later that year. Notes won a “Steppeulv” (the Danish music critics award) in the category "Composer of the Year" and a Danish Music Award for "Songwriter of the Year”

She also got a contract with the British producer-duo Zero 7. Tina and Zero 7 wrote and recorded “Home” and “The Space Between”, which can be found on the Zero 7 album “When It Falls”. A tour consisting of more than 100 dates in Europe, United States and Asia followed and included performances at Glastonbury Festival and Roskilde Festival. In 2004 Tina released an EP named ”Far” and later that year she did a Danish version of the Leonard Cohen song ”Hallelujah” with Steffen Brandt. The song can be found on the album ”På Danske Læber” which is an album with Danish versions of Cohen-songs. In the summer of 2004 she joined the Danish ”Grøn Koncert”-tour.

In 2004 Tina Dico signed an international record deal with Sony England. The recordings to her international debut album, In the Red, began at the end of 2004, with producer Chris Potter. This was the first and last time Tina ever worked with someone else than Dennis Ahlgren. He has helped produce all her other albums. In early 2005, Sony and BMG merged, and the record deal was cancelled. The legal rights to the songs were handed over to Tina, and the album was released in cooperation with the Danish company, A:Larm in June 2005. The album got very mixed reviews, but was a commercial success. “Nobody’s Man” and “Warm Sand” got a lot of plays on the radio. In The Red went straight to No. 1 on the Danish album chart in front of prominent names such as U2 and Coldplay. In January 2006, Tina won the P3 Award and DKK 100.000 which is granted by Danish National Radio P3. The jury said this of Tina’s effort: “Courage, self-esteem and talent is required if you want to be yourself and perform your own songs – without over-styled fuss. The winner of the P3 Award certainly possesses these qualities.” In March 2006 Tina won the Danish Music Award for “Singer of the Year”. Meanwhile, she released her first Live-DVD: “Live in the red”, which was played and recorded in Store Vega in Copenhagen

[edit] Count To Ten

In February 2007 Tina recorded the John Lennon song “Working Class Hero”, as part of Amnesty International's Global campaign “Make Some Noise”. She later performed at an Amnesty event with Yoko Ono on first row. As part of the P3-award she won in 2006, two weeks recording time in Denmark’s Radio’s studios followed. The two weeks were spent on recording parts of Tina’s album Count to Ten. The rest of Count to Ten was later finished in the Feedback- and Aabyroad studios. The album was ready in July and was released on September 3. The album got really great reviews from several Danish media. Tina won the Gaffa (magazine)-award in 2007 for “Album of the Year” and “Singer of the Year”

In February 2008, after the success of Count to Ten, Tina played a rather large Danish tour.

The Trilogy[link]

While Count to Ten was recorded, Tina also recorded the EP, A Beginning, which later became part of the Trilogy. In January 2008 Tina and Dennis Ahlgren recorded the second EP, A Detour. Tina met the Icelandic singer Helgi Jonsson on a tour with Teitur Lassen in May 2008. Helgi and Tina collaborated on the song “Walls” to the third EP, An Open Ending, which was recorded in summer 2008 by Tina and Dennis, in-between festivals. In summer 2008 Tina and her band played on the Orange Stage at Roskilde Festival, which is the largest concert and stage, she's ever played. In September 2008, Dico won The Crown Prince And Princess’s Award and DKK 500.000. She received it for “having the courage to look the contradictory and difficult parts of existence in the eyes, and for the ability to express it in a very special, life-affirming fashion that many can identify themselves with” A week after she won the cultural award, the EP collection “A Beginning, A Detour, An Open Ending” (also known as “The Trilogy”) was released. After the release, a large tour around the world_ with Dennis Ahlgren and Helgi Jonsson followed. In 2008 Tina won the Gaffa-award for “Singer of the Year” second year in a row.

[edit] The Road To Gävle

Tina Dico composed the soundtrack for the Danish film Oldboys. The soundtrack quickly evolved into Tina’s sixth album, because she continued writing after the initial work on the soundtrack was done. The result was “The Road to Gävle”, which was recorded in Electric Lady Studios in New York, Jimi Hendrix's old studio. Tina made the release of The Road to Gävle quite special for her fans. Through the website www.pledgemusic.com, a site that raises money for charity, she made it possible to get the album before others. Some of the more personal items, such as handwritten lyrics, were also auctioned off. Tina managed to reach the goal of 3000 pledges within thirty days. Large parts of the music were written in early 2009 on her three-month stay in Los Angeles and New York. In 2009 Tina also appeared in the SAS (Scandinavian Airlines System) commercial “As good as home”. The commercial featured the Count to Ten-song Open Wide. After it had aired, Tina got all five albums on the Top 100 chart, which is a first in Danish music history.

At the end of 2009 Tina moved back to Denmark, more specifically Copenhagen. Tina won the Gaffa-award for “Singer of the Year” third time in a row in 2009. In February 2010 Tina won two Robert Awards. She won the award for “Best Score” and “Best Song” with the song 'Rebel Song'.

In the beginning of 2010 she performed with Danish pop-queen Medina at the TV2 Zulu Awards. Later she was in Bristol to record the song The Storm That Brought You To Me for the soundtrack to the blockbuster Clash Of The Titans with Massive Attack-producer, Neil Davidge. Same month she was on Iceland to record the song 'Welcome Back Colour' with Icelandic Helgi Jónsson. It was the first single to the album Welcome Back Colour, and received heavy rotation on Danish radio. In the beginning of June Tina Dico played four sold-out concerts in Danish Radio’s concert hall with Danish National Chamber Orchestra. One of the concerts was aired live. This summer she played on ”Grøn Koncert” once again with a full band. And in August she played her biggest solo-gig at the opening of “Aarhus Festuge” (Aarhus Festival Week).

Welcome Back Colour, Tina's seventh studio album, was released in Germany on 24 September 2010 and in Denmark on the 27 September 2010. The album was released in early 2011 in the UK and United States. The album, which contains 27 tracks, is a mix of her biggest radio-hits, five new songs and an album with brand new acoustic recordings of new and old.

Dico embarked on her biggest tour to date across Denmark and Germany, also playing in a few other European cities, and in February 2011 touring the UK and US.

The Randy Rogers Band is an American Texas Country group from the state of Texas. The band is composed of Randy Rogers (lead vocals), Geoffrey Hill (guitar), Jon Richardson (bass guitar), Brady Black (fiddle), and Les Lawless (drums).^[1] They have recorded four studio albums and two live albums, and have charted six singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. Their highest-charting single, "Tonight's Not the Night (For Goodbye)", reached #43 in 2005.

Randy Rogers was born in Cleburne, Texas. When he was six years old, he learned to play the piano from his grandmother and later learned to play the guitar.^[2]

The Randy Rogers Band recorded its debut album, Live at Cheatham Street Warehouse, at a music hall of the same name in San Marcos, Texas.^[1][3] By 2002, the band was signed to the independent Downtime record label, on which they released the album Like It Used to Be. It was around this time that the band began performing outside of San Marcos, primarily at Nutty Brown Cafe and Amphitheatre in nearby Dripping Springs, Texas. Two years later, the album Rollercoaster was released, producing two minor entries on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts in early 2005.^[1] Rogers also co-wrote "Somebody Take Me Home", a song recorded by Kenny Chesney, on his 2005 album, The Road and the Radio. Several of the songs on Rollercoaster were co-written by Radney Foster, who also co-produced the album.^[3] Just a Matter of Time, the band's first major-label album, was released on Mercury Nashville Records in 2006.^[1] The band also released their self-titled album on September 23, 2008, also on Mercury Nashville Records. The first single "In My Arms Instead", was released in August.

The band's current album, Burning the Day, was released on August 24, 2010 on MCA Nashville. The album's first single was "Too Late for Goodbye." It debuted at #55 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and after four weeks on the chart, it peaked at #47, becoming their highest charting single since 2006 when "Kiss Me in the Dark" peaked at #45.
