John Deacon
John Richard Deacon (born 19 August 1951) is a retired English multi-instrumentalist, best known as the bass guitarist for the rock band Queen. Timothy "Tim" Staffell (born 24 February 1948 in Isleworth, Middlesex, England) is an English rock musician and visual artist. He was a member of blues-rock outfit 1984 and later Smile, a band which included guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor. Upon Staffell's departure, Smile were joined by Freddie Mercury and John Deacon to form the band Queen. As we started arranging this cover, the song came alive when we found a destined matchup in the melody from Gustav Holst's classical piece "Jupiter"—a deep melody that rang out when layered on top of everything we were creating for this arrangement. To make a long studio-story short, it all came together after that. ALL sounds were created by acoustic & electric cellos (5 different cellos) and piano. By the time we were finished we had used 60 tracks. In this arrangement we borrowed a melody from Gustav Holst's "Jupiter" Suite from "The Planets" -- op. 32 -- be sure to listen to his original composition -- it's amazing! The melody we used comes in about half-way through the piece. What song should we cover next? Leave a comment on our Facebook page! Na música, um vocalista ou cantor é um músico que canta, ou seja, usa a voz como seu instrumento musical. Um cantor principal, ou solista, é aquele que canta as voz primária de uma música, enquanto o cantor dera solistas vocais, os solistas, ordinariamente, podem também cantar a parte do coro quando os solistas não tem partes separadas. Em textos de programas, ou de gravações, o termo vocal se refere a parte instrumental que um cantor executa (i.e. o instrumento deste); assim como podemos encontrar o termo, baixo, para quem toca o contrabaixo; percussão, para quem toca a percussão, e assim por diante.
Em música, as vozes são tratadas tal como instrumentos musicais. Os exercícios vocais que um cantor faz chama-se vocalise.

Freddie Mercury, nome artístico de Farrokh Bulsara[1] (Stone Town, 5 de setembro de 1946 — Londres, 24 de novembro de 1991), foi um músico, cantor e compositor britânico, mais conhecido por ter sido vocalista da banda britânica de rock Queen.
É considerado pelos críticos[2][3] e por diversas votações populares[4][5] como um dos melhores cantores de todos os tempos e uma das vozes mais conhecidas do mundo.
Como compositor, Mercury compôs vários sucessos para o Queen, tais como "Bohemian Rhapsody", "We Are the Champions" e "Love Of My Life".
Além de seu trabalho com o Queen, Freddie lançou alguns trabalhos em carreira solo, e também, ocasionalmente, atuou como produtor e músico convidado (piano ou voz) para outros artistas.
Ele faleceu de broncopneumonia, causada pela AIDS, em 24 de novembro de 1991, apenas um dia depois de reconhecer publicamente que tinha a doença.

Freddie Mercury nasceu na localidade da Cidade de Pedra, em Zanzibar, à época colônia britânica e hoje pertencente à Tanzânia, na África Oriental. Seus pais, Bomi e Jer Bulsara, eram parsis zoroastrianos de Guzerate, na Índia. Mercury foi educado na St. Peter Boarding School, uma escola inglesa perto de Bombaim, onde deu seus primeiros passos no âmbito da canção, ao ter aulas de piano. Foi na escola que ele começou a ser chamado "Freddie" e, com o tempo, até os seus pais passaram a chamá-lo assim.
Depois de se formar em sua terra natal, Freddie e sua família mudaram-se em 1964 para a Inglaterra, devido a uma revolução iniciada em Zanzibar. Ele tinha dezoito anos. Lá diplomou-se em design gráfico e artístico na Ealing Art College, seguindo os passos de Pete Townshend. Esse conhecimento mostrar-se-ia útil depois, quando Freddie projetou o famoso símbolo da banda.
Algo que poucos fãs sabem é que, na escola de artes em que se bacharelou, Freddie era conhecido como um aluno exemplar e muito quieto. Tinha uma personalidade bastante introspectiva. Concluiu os exames finais do curso com conceito A. Possui uma série de trabalhos em arte visual, hoje disponíveis em alguns sites na Internet.
Freddie conheceu na faculdade o baixista Tim Staffell. Tim tinha uma banda na faculdade chamada Smile, que tinha Brian May como guitarrista e Roger Taylor como baterista, e levou Freddie para participar dos ensaios.
Em abril de 1970, Tim deixa o grupo e Freddie acaba ficando como vocalista da banda, que passa a se chamar Queen. Freddie decide colocar Mercury no nome. Ainda em 1970, ele conheceu Mary Austin, sua namorada, com quem viveu por cinco anos. Foi com ela que assumiu ser bissexual.[6] Os dois, mesmo separados, mantiveram forte laço de amizade até o fim de sua vida. De acordo com declaração do cantor e de seus companheiros de banda, Mary inspirou Freddie na música "Love of My Life".
No visual de Freddie Mercury, há uma mudança que não deixa de ser notada: se, na era Glam dos anos 1970, o cabelo comprido, o delineador preto, as unhas pintadas , os maillots de bailado e o sapato de salto alto eram moda, estes iriam dar lugar a uma postura mais "macho": cabedal preto, chapéu de polícia, cabelo curto e, meses mais tarde, bigode: essa seria a sua imagem de marca na década de 1980. Nessa época, seus amigos descobriram sua bissexualidade, pois ele passou a levar rapazes e algumas garotas para dormir em seu quarto.
Mercury compôs muitos dos sucessos da banda, como "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Somebody to Love", "Killer Queen", "Love of My Life", "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" e "We Are the Champions" - hinos eloquentes e de estruturação extraordinária, particulares e sempiternos. Suas exibições ao vivo eram lendárias. A facilidade com que Freddie dominava as multidões e os seus improvisos vocais, envolvendo o público no show, tornaram as suas turnês um enorme sucesso na década de 1970, enchendo estádios de todo o mundo nos anos 80.
Freddie Mercury lançou dois discos-solo, aclamados pela crítica e pelo público. Mr. Bad Guy foi lançado em maio de 1985, e entre seus estilos estão desde reggae até dance e até uma parte orquestrada na faixa Mr. Bad Guy. Em 1988, é lançado o disco Barcelona, sendo que a faixa de mesmo nome tinha participação da cantora lírica espanhola Montserrat Caballé. Esta canção fez um enorme sucesso mundial na época e foi usada como tema nos Jogos Olímpicos de Barcelona, em 1992.
Em 1991, após ficar muito doente, surgiam rumores de que estaria com AIDS, o que se confirmou afinal, através de uma declaração feita por ele mesmo em 23 de novembro, um dia antes de morrer.
Freddie faleceu na noite de 24 de novembro de 1991, em sua casa, chamada Garden Lodge. Sua morte causou repercussão e tristeza em todo o mundo. Sua casa foi passada por testamento à ex-namorada, Mary Austin, que recebeu muitos buquês de flores na época e continua a recebê-los até hoje.
O corpo de Freddie Mercury foi cremado e suas cinzas foram espalhadas na margem do Lago Genebra na Suíça.[7]
Em 25 de novembro de 1992, foi inaugurada uma estátua em sua homenagem, com a presença de Brian May, Roger Taylor, da cantora Montserrat Caballé, Jer e Bomi Bulsara (pais de Freddie) e Kashmira Bulsara (irmã de Freddie), em Montreux, na Suíça, cidade adotada por Freddie como seu segundo lar.
Os membros remanescentes do Queen fundaram uma associação de caridade em seu nome, a The Mercury Phoenix Trust, e organizaram, em 20 de abril de 1992, no Wembley Stadium, o concerto beneficente The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, para homenagear o trabalho e a vida de Freddie.
No início da carreira, o cantor também era conhecido pelo pseudônimo de Larry Lurex. Também era conhecido pelo apelido Mr. Bad Guy.
Freddie Mercury era proprietário de uma voz potente. Contam alguns que, durante as gravações do álbum Barcelona, ele desafiou Montserrat Caballé, uma das cantoras líricas mais conhecidas no mundo, para ver quem possuía maior fôlego. Mercury venceu com uma grande vantagem.
Em 1992, um ano depois da morte de Freddie Mercury, realizam-se os Jogos Olímpicos de Barcelona, durante os quais Montserrat Caballé intrepreta a famosa canção "Barcelona" (gravada em 1988) em dueto virtual com o cantor falecido. Ainda hoje o dueto é recordado como um marco histórico da música.
Em 5 de setembro de 2011, o website de busca, Google, homenageou o cantor. Na página, existia um doodle musical, que executa a "Don't Stop Me Now", grande sucesso da sua carreira.[8]
