BJP ends JPC boycott, attends meet on 2G - NewsX
After abstaining twice including a much hyped walkout, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) attends the Joint Parliamentary Committee meeting on the 2G probe today. The BJP, which has six members on the panel, had stayed away from the last two meetings demanding that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister P Chidambaram be asked to depose before the panel. The BJP is likely to keep up pressure on the panel to call on Manmohan Singh and Chidambaram. For more log on to www.newsx.com

Gurumurthy flip flop: BJP reasserts support for Gadkari
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has once again reasserted its support to its beleaguered president Nitin Gadkari. This comes after confusion over a series of tweets on Tuesday by RSS ideologue S Gurumurthy. Gurumurthy in his tweets appeared to have been distancing himself over his defence of Gadkari, but later tried to clear the air by once again coming out in support of Gadkari. Meanwhile, the Congress has once again attacked the main opposition party by calling it a divided house. "BJP Lokpal Gurumurty Acquits Gadkari-BJP applauds He now withdraws his observation- Now says-National BJP shouldn't do business BJP silent! (sic)," Congress General Secretary Digvijaya Singh said.

Gurumurthy deletes Gadkari tweet, BJP avoids issue - NewsX
Even as both BJP and RSS claim to stand by Gadkari, despite charges of financial improbity...notes of dissent have been struck within both organisations. Now Gadkari's white knight S Gurumurthy is turning hostile...just a week after swaying the BJP Core Group into backing Gadkari. A series of tweets from RSS ideologue Gurumurthy have added confusion to how the Sangh and BJP really view Gadkari. The most crucial tweet is in which Gurumuthy categorically says he cannot "give a clean chit to anybody i don't know fully. I don't know Nitin Gadkari at all". If that is not a big enough blow to Gadkari, this surely is.....Gurumurthy says he doesn't believe the President of the BJP should be a businessmen. These assertions are bound to rake up the conflict in the BJP over Gadkari. For more log on to http:///www.newsx.com

NDTV Mid-Term Poll 2012: BJP, Vasundhara Raje to make a comeback in Rajasthan?
The Congress seems to be ceding ground - respondents have found Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and his governance poor. And though many believe infighting has hurt the BJP, Vasundhara Raje seems set for a comeback. Picked by the BJP and not the RSS. [Fieldwork by Ipsos] Watch full show: www.ndtv.com

Himachal polls: Can BJP overcome anti-incumbency?
The BJP started its election campaign on the issue of corruption, but when similar charges were levelled against its own party president, it switched strategy to focus on the issue of price rise - even promising free induction heaters if it returned to power. The incumbent BJP is hoping to script history in Himachal Pradesh by going the Punjab way, where the Akali Dal-BJP combine returned to power. The state has never repeated a government since 1977. BJP has many PM candidates, Modi one of them: Gadkari
Unfazed by the Congress attack over the letter row involving him, BJP President Nitin Gadkari said he will quit politics if there is any proof of his business links with Ajay Sancheti in the irrigation scam. He said he had asked the Centre to release funds for the Gosikhurd project to help the farmers and not for the benefit of any contractor close to him. Gadkari also said that Ajay Sancheti did not get a single contract during his tenure as the Public Works Department (PWD) minister of Maharashtra. "If you have got any evidence about my relations with Ajay Sancheti, business relations or with Sharad Pawar...I am going to challenge Congress party and Digvijaya Singh...let's prove it, I am ready... I will leave the politics," the BJP president said while speaking to CNN-IBN Editor-in-Chief Rajdeep Sardesai.

At BJP meet, Narendra Modi's advice is go big on campaign against FDI in retail
At a meeting of 300 top BJP leaders, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi intervened in a debate on foreign direct investment in retail today to suggest that the party take the issue to the village level and offered a systematic plan to negate the Congress' "reforms are back" campaign. He suggested that the party hold more than 5000 public meetings across the country to highlight the BJP's objections, 10 in each Lok Sabha constituency. The Gujarat CM also suggested the BJP emphasise to traders and farmers that the Centre's decision to allow big foreign chains like Walmart to set up shop would affect them adversely.

BJP meet ends; Core group backs Gadkari - NewsX
BJP appeared divided on party president Nitin Gadkari as senior leader LK Advani skipped a crucial meeting of its core group apparently unhappy over his continuance in the post. Advani chose not to go to the meeting in the party office on a day of hectic activities triggered by the demand for Gadkari's resignation by party MP Ram Jethmalani in the wake of allegations of dubious funding for his company Purti.
