Deaf Toddler Finally Hears His Mom's Voice (Official) [HD]
Cooper Hears Mom's Voice for First Time: Viral Video of Toddler with Cochlear Implants Two-year-old Cooper gasps and laughs as mom says, "Hi Cooper!" No wonder--he's hearing her voice for the very first time. "Cooper was born with profound hearing loss," mom Lauren LaScala, a third grade teacher from Pennsylvania, tells Shine. "No one in our family is deaf, but my husband and I were each carrying a gene without knowing it." Cooper received cochlear implants in September 2011. "This video shows his absolute first response to any sound whatsoever," says LaScala. "Usually, when the implants are first activated, children cry or do nothing. His response is very rare--we got lucky." LaScala posted the video back in October, but over the last few days it's surfaced--LaScala isn't sure how--and gone viral on the Internet, receiving about half a million hits as of June 4 and comments from around the globe. Newborn screenings may miss hearing loss in some kids After eight months of using the device, LaScala says her son is "doing beautifully." He counts to five, recognizes and says colors, and can understand and recite his "ABCs." LaScala says he can also verbalize things he wants. In the video, the first word Cooper asks to be identified is a gold fish cracker, which might not be a surprise to any mom with a toddler.

10 Tips for Flying With a Toddler
And I thought traveling with a newborn was hard... with a toddler, it's a whole new ballgame! But I'm happy to report that in the past month, our family flew to San Diego (4 hour flight) and Fort Meyers (2 1/2 hour flight) with no meltdowns or hysterics. Woo hoo! Here are the top tips for traveling with toddlers that I've learned along the way. Find a flight that isn't too full Not always possible, but when you can, chose flights that aren't that full. You can see how many seats are still available when you book your flight and want to chose your seat. If you see lots of empty spots, book that flight! If you see only a few openings in the rear, keep looking. Schedule flights during naptime or bedtime Our mantra is the less baby is awake on plane, the better for everyone around you. Griffin isn't the easiest guy to fall asleep and even he went down easily on several flights. Having the middle seat open helps a ton since baby has his/her own "space." You and daddy can then tag team soothing to get baby to nap (back rubs, keeping them from trying to climb all over, singing, stroking hair, etc.) Can't find a flight that works during normal sleeping hours? No worries. Encourage baby to take a late afternoon or mid morning "catnap" which can do wonders. Book an aisle and window seat. This might sound counterintuitive as we normally want to sit next to our husband, child or travel companion but this way you have a better chance of scoring the middle seat and acquiring the whole ...

Mensa Toddler Has Potty Emergency On Live TV
She may be the youngest US member of Mensa, but Emmelyn Roettger proved she was just an ordinary toddler in some ways after having a potty emergency live on national television. Emmelyn charmed viewers after appearing on the Today Show in the US and announcing mid interview she needed to 'poop'. 'My belly hurts!' Emmelyn, from Washington, DC, told her parents after correctly answering host Natalie Morales's questions about the solar system. 'I have to go poop!' Emmelyn then began to try to remove her microphone so she could dash off stage while Morale's struggled to keep the interview under control. "Oh sweetie, too many doughnuts maybe in the greenroom," Morales said. The toddler also acted her age when she noticed herself on camera — and began waving and pulling faces while ignoring Morales's attempts to quiz her. Emmelyn, who has an IQ of 135, became the youngest American member of Mensa last March when she was two years and 11 months old. Her parents were initially told that Emmelyn, who had vision problems, could suffer from autism. But when Emmelyn had her eyes tested, they noticed she showed an unusually high curiosity about the world around her.

9-year-old Attacks Toddler, Daycare Worker Arrested, Neglect of Minor(Disturbing Video)
VICKSBURG, MS (WLBT) - Surveillance video from Kiddie City Childcare Center in Vicksburg shows a nine year-old's reign of terror over a room of infants. The boy can be seen punching one little girl multiple times. Then choking another, then patting her back as she cries in pain. Another time he violently shakes another child. In an exclusive interview with a WLBT photojournalist, the boy's aunt says the family is embarrassed by the attacks and the daycare should be shut down. "He bad. He fight but he don't fight little babies. He do also have a problem. He take medicine every day and he just a normal child," says Vinia Dolley. In one instance, you can see the boy kick one of the little girls while a daycare worker looks out the window. Later the boy picks up the girl and kicks her again. The nine year-old can be seen waiting until workers turn away to attack the girls. Dolley says they tell the boy not to fight with others. "I feel bad about him jumping on a two year-old baby, he nine years-old. He don't fight his own two year-old brother like that or cousins," says Dolley. Vicksburg police have arrested former daycare worker Sandra Trevillion. She's charged with two counts of contributing to the neglect of a minor. "This nine year-old child, he was allowed to pretty much run rough shot over that entire room for a period of 15 to 20 minutes. All his actions went unnoticed," says Vicksburg Police Chief Walter Armstrong. The parent of one of the girls, Jamie Williams, 29 ...

Technology has made it easier and more affordable for the average person to produce and distribute his or her own content, empowering artists and eliminating old gatekeepers. This in turn has created countless opportunities for success but left artists to their own devices in achieving it. To some, this new era means the death of the art of recording and filmmaking. We disagree. To us it means that the power structure has changed; the control is in the hands of content creators. Though sales are down, people are consuming more content than ever before. New mediums must be established to present and distribute art and to re-establish strong bonds between artist and audience. With “The Sea In Between”, the MJM team would like to offer our own vision for a possible future of distributed media: a full audio-visual album. In essence, an LP of sights and sounds.
This film represents a labor of love for us. Together with the intrepid Josh Garrels, his wife and toddlers in tow, we filmed and recorded a dozen live performances in less than a week and have woven them together with documentary vignettes exploring Josh’s hand-built career, the process of collaborating on Mayne Island, and the challenges and rewards of being an artist in the 21st century. We hope it gives the audience an opportunity to be a part of the process, to get to know Josh and the MJM team, and to feel included and invested in the futures of Josh and Mason Jar Music. Above all, we hope that this film will encourage casual consumers to follow and support the work and development of artists they believe in as they build careers in the face of this shifting landscape.

The Power of A Mother's Love
Mother’s come in all sizes and ages. Some of us had young mothers, some had older mothers. Some of us had petite mom’s some had larger moms. Regardless of the age or size of our Mom’s, I know something all Mom’s have in common. When push comes to shove, when the gates of hell open up, when the world falls apart, there is nothing stronger than a mother’s love for her children. Sorry Dad’s. You don’t come close.
A mother’s love for her children is one of the strongest forces in this world. I believe it is so strong because it is chiseled directly from the heart of God!
What makes God’s Love so powerful, and what makes a mother’s love so powerful, is a special bond!
A Mother bonds with her child through countless hours, countless feedings. This is her baby, her child. God’s love is so powerful because of His relationship to those He loves. God had a special relationship with His people, the Jews. It was a covenant relationship. It made the Jews special, beloved to Him. His love for them was different than His love for the gentiles because of that Covenant Relationship. Through Jesus Christ, we have a New Covenant Relationship with God. We are born again and become children of God. We enter into a new and special relationship with God. He has a special Love for His children. Just as a Mother has a special love for her own children, so does God have a special love with His children.
THE POWER OF LOVE IS BECAUSE OF THE RELATIONSHIP!
Just like you don’t pull on superman’s cape, your don’t spit into the wind, you don’t pull the mask off the old lone ranger and you don’t mess around with a Mom and her children.
Fremont, CA (KPIX) - A Fremont, California woman is recovering from severe injuries to her arms after a pit bull terrier attacked her in her own garage, forcing her to stash her baby in a garbage can for protection.
Thirty-two-year-old Angela Silva received 50 staples and countless stitches as a result of Tuesday's attack.
Silva says her neighbor's dog wandered into her open garage and lunged at her and her four-month-old son.
After she put the child in a plastic garbage bin, the 80-pound pit bull terrier, "Swisher", continued pursuing the baby and knocked over the bin as Silva fought the animal off with her arms. Two men across the street eventually came to her aid and chased away the dog.
"My flesh was flying off of my arms," she says. "I just don't think that I would have been able to stand up any longer."
Mighty Pharaoh tried to kill the Jewish babies.
The Jewish Mom’s were so tough they were having the babies one day and out working in the field the next, their babies hidden away. One Mom was bold enough to make a basket of reeds and then waterproof it, and then put her baby Moses in it to float downstream. Mom’s do amazing things because of their love for their children.
Jeremiah 9:23-24 (NASB) Thus says the Lord, "Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things," declares the Lord.
This morning we need to understand Three things that God Delights in, and once we understand these, we can better understand the power of a Mother’s Love. But first, let me ask you a couple of questions that this verse brings up…
1. What Do You Boast About?
let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me
You may be smart, you may have wealth, but God says that doesn’t matter. If you are going to boast in anything, boast in knowing and understanding God. That requires growing relationship with Him. That requires an intimacy with God such that any time you pick up His Word you are immediately overwhelmed with a flash from God!
Like the TV series Chuck, who has the Intersect in his brain. Whenever he sees someone or something that is in the Super Spy data base, he flashes on it and all this information comes to his mind. He always gets overwhelmed for just a bit when he “flashes” on the information.
Do you have that kind of relationship with God? Do you boast to your friends that you have such a special relationship?
I know that our world has become so infected with sin that homes and families are fractured and tormented. Not everyone has a wonderful mom who loved them and nurtured them. Our Mom’s may be flawed in several ways, but there is always something you can boast in about your mom. It may be her cooking, her crafts, her drive, her protection, her prayers, her drive. Dig deep and find something to boast in about your Mom. Boast about her to your children, and even your grandchildren. Honor her. She gave you life.
We honor God because He gave us life. If we are to boast, boast in God, in that you know Him and understand Him.
2. What Are God
