Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling 2009
Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling 2009 video highlights from www.soglos.com - filmed on Monday 25 May 2009. Every year daring competitors throw themselves down a death-defyingly steep hill in Gloucestershire, England, in a bid to win a coveted Double Gloucester cheese, and this year's event was no different - with a number of competitors incurring injuries. Local cheese rolling legend Chris Anderson won 2 of the 5 races on the day, and can be seen in the video sporting his usual bright green top and flying past the camera.

Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling 2011
Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling 2011 highlights from www.soglos.com - filmed on Monday 30 May 2011 during the annual sporting spectacular in Brockworth, Gloucester. Although the event was officially cancelled again this year due to health and safety concerns, around 500 loyal fans from Gloucestershire and as far away as New Zealand turned up to watch the action from the sidelines. Local lad Chris Anderson was the champion for another year running, and the atmosphere on the hill was fantastic despite the dreadful British weather. While there was some police presence on the day, the authorities were particularly friendly to members of the public who had feared they wouldn't even be allowed access to Cooper's Hill on foot. Hopes remain high for an official version of the event returning in 2012. Visit http for the very latest.

Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling 2008 video from www.soglos.com - Death-defying clips from the 2008 Cooper's Hill Cheese Rolling and Wake, where every year fearless competitors from around the world tumble down an almost vertical hill in Gloucester, UK, chasing an 8lb Double Gloucester Cheese. It can never really be caught as it reaches breakneck speeds but the first person to cross the line at the bottom of the hill wins the coveted cheese. Thousands of spectators turned up to watch again this year, and there were also a few of the usual injuries. Thankfully St John's Ambulances were on hand to whisk the casualties away to the local hospital. See http to find out more.

Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling 2012
Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling 2012 highlights from www.soglos.com - captured on Monday 4 June 2012. Thousands of spectators turned up for the third unofficial version of the world-famous event on Coopers Hill near Gloucester, and more than 100 fearless competitors tested their grit over four downhill races, and one uphill race for children. Despite grey skies the rain held off, and the atmosphere was one of the best the SoGlos team has ever experienced. Local legend Chris Anderson was, unsurprisingly, the stand-out champion and all-round celebrity of the day.

Rites and Wrongs - Gloucestershire Freemasons documentary 1999
West Eye View. Gloucestershire freemasons. "Why does anybody need to throw a rope around your neck and present you with a sharp blade to reinforce their obligations? "By this plan we shall direct all mankind. In this manner, and by the simplest means, we shall set all in motion and in flames. The occupations must be so allotted and contrived, that we may, in secret, influence all political transactions. I have considered everything, and so prepared it that if the order should this day go to ruin, I shall in one year re-establish it more brilliant than ever. Nor will it signify though all should be betrayed and printed. I am so certain of sucess, in spite of all obstacles (for the springs are in every heart) that I am indifferent, though it should involve my life and my liberty. But I have the art to draw advantage even from misfortune, and when you would think me sunk to the bottom, I shall rise with new vigour. Who would have thought, that a professor at Ingolstadt was to become the teacher of the professors of Gottingen and of the greatest men in Germany?"
