Thousands of Botswana citizens actively cast their votes today, exercising their constitutional right to shape the country's future.
President Mokgweetsi Masisi, seeking re-election under the Botswana Democratic Party, faces strong competition from contenders DumaBoko of the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC), Dumelang Saleshando of the Botswana Congress Party (BCP), and MephatoReatile of the Botswana Patriotic Front (BPF).
The BD-P has held a parliamentary majority since Botswana's first post-independence elections in 1969 .
