Fantastic speech by Mitt Romney, a strong economy is good for everyone, no matter what color. As Cal Thomas put it, the second A in NAACP is for ADVANCEMENT. The free market system is the only way to lift the poor out of poverty. If you remember when Newt Gingrich addressed the issue of the poor in poverty stricken neighborhood he was attacked for using "black stereotypes". But when Romney speaks without directly addressig the issue they claimed he was really speaking to white America. Charlotte Stoker Manning NAACP Chairwoman said.. "I believe [Romney's] vested interests are in white Americans. You cannot possibly talk about jobs for black people at the level he's coming from. He's talking about entrepreneurship, savings accounts — black people can barely find a way to get back and forth from work." Romney was literally criticized for not using grotesque black stereotypes such as the ones used by Charlotte Stoker Manning spokeswoman of the NAACP. As far as the speaking to the NAACP, Republican's are dammed if they do and damned if they damned if they don't. This is not really so much that Republicans do not know how to speak to blacks as much as the NAACP is unwilling to listen. Booker T.
