Rolls-Royce Jet Engine Manufacturing Plant: American Jobs and Industry Speech (2012)
thefilmarchive.org March 9, 2012 On 6 April 2004, Boeing announced that it had selected both Rolls-Royce and General Electric to power its new 787. Rolls-Royce submitted the Trent 1000, a further development of that series. GE's offering is the GENX, a development of the GE90. On 13 June 2004, Rolls-Royce were awarded a £110m deal with the Ministry of Defence to supply engines for its C-130 Hercules transport aircraft for the next 5 years. In July 2006, Rolls-Royce reached an agreement to supply a new version of the Trent for the revised Airbus A350 (XWB) jetliner. Although details have yet to be released, it is likely that the so-called Trent XWB will be significantly larger than the Trent 1700, basically a throttle-push of the Trent 1000 intended for the original A350 proposal. In October 2006, Rolls-Royce suspended production of its Trent 900 engine because of delays by Airbus on the delivery of the A380 superjumbo. Rolls-Royce announced in October 2007 that production of the Trent 900 had been re-started after a twelve month suspension caused by delays to the A380. The plant in Derby, UK employs 11000 workers and will continue to produce engines for Bombardier and Boeing, including those for the new 787 series and other Airbus aircraft such as the A330 and A340. On the military side, Rolls-Royce, in co-operation with other European manufacturers, has been a major contractor for the RB199 which in several variants powers the Panavia Tornado, and also for the EJ200 ...

Will Pakistan Air Force acquire J-11/Su-27SK fighter aircraft from China?
PAF s' News Section paffalcons.com J-11 (Jianji-11 or Jian-11) is a licensed copy of the Russian Sukhoi Su-27SK air-superiority fighter aircraft built by Shenyang Aircraft Corporation (SAC). The initial batches of the J-11 were identical to the single-seat Su-27SK, but the later batches had increased portion of Chinese-made components. SAC is currently developing an indigenised upgraded variant known as J-11B, which was based on the J-11/Su-27SK airframe but equipped with Chinese-developed avionics and weapon suite. China has been able to duplicate the SU-27, the most lethal bird in the air. The Chinese version of the Sukhoi SU-27 (Flanker) is now called the J-11. The Su-30MKI (another derivative of the SU-27), a heavy-class fighter, with the F-16C Block 50, F-16C Block 60, and F-18E/F aircraft is largely theoretical. The American Fighters belong to conceptually different fighter classes and have their own, preferential areas of combat employment. The F-18E/F version, owing to the F/A-18 basic design, features a more pronounced strike-mission capability, while in terms of dimensions, this aircraft is close to the Russian fighter. The Pakistanis should be tight lipped about the new Chinese fighter and whether Pakistan is going to acquire any. The Chinese in a sweet deal of $2.5 Billion with the Russians purchased the right to produce the SK-27. The J-11 is a third generation aircraft. Now, the efforts in China and Pakistan are underway to move to the air-forces to the ...

The Shortest 747 Takeoff Roll Ever? | Atlas Air Boeing 747-400 Floats out of Miami
I was amazed to see this monstrous Atlas Air Cargo heavy Boeing 747-400 Freighter drift off the runway after an amazingly short takeoff roll from Miami Int'l Airport. There was about a 30 knot headwind bearing down on this 744 which made the climb that much more steep, and amazing. See the second Atlas Air Boeing 747-400F that followed this aircraft and pulled off the exact same stunt at my planespotting channel, FLLspotter: www.YouTube.com Information courtesy of 'RUNWAY25RIGHT': 747-481 Serial number 24833 Certificate Issue Date 04/11/208 Expiration Date 05/31/2014 MFR Year 1990 Engine Manufacturer: GE Classification: Standard Engine Model: CF6-80 SERIES Category: Transport A/W

Made in Germany | German Airplane Manufacturer Grob
The manufacturing giant Boeing's newest Dreamliner - still in construction - is being hailed as a revolutionary breakthrough because it is made out of ultra-light carbon fiber (CFK). But Grob Aerospace in Mattsies, Bavaria has been producing planes consisting almost entirely of carbon fiber for more than 30 years. Grob's business jet 'SPn', the first carbon fiber passenger plane, is just about to be released on the market. The new passenger jet will be much more economical with fuel and much more stable than its competitors. The 8-seat plane costs 5 point 9 million euros. And 80 firm customers are already waiting. Made in Germany reporter Patrick Benning visited the innovative plane manufacturer. The company's risk has paid off, but the price was high: in 2006, a test pilot died in a failed test flight.

JF-17 Thunder multi-role aircraft may undermine sales of Russian's MiG-29 Fulcrum jets
Pakistan starts production of avionics for JF-17 Thunder aircraft paffalcons.com Russian and Chinese weapons manufacturers are clashing head on within the international arms market as China's new fighter jet seems to be a cheaper imitation of the Russian original. The argument is threatening to put on hold a multi-billion-dollar engines sale contract between the countries concerning the delivery of some hundreds Russian-made RD-93 engines needed for Chinese-Pakistani fighter jets called the FC-1. The deal is facing opposition from Russian aircraft manufacturers, such as Mikhail Pogosyan, the head of the MiG and Sukhoi aviation holding, who said that the FC-1 is extremely close, if not the same, as the Russian-made MiG-29. Pogosyan claimed that FC-1 is a direct competitor to Russia's MiG-29 and the deal would incur losses for the Russian manufacturers. A source quoted by the Kommersant newspaper said there are significant price differences keeping the US$10-million Chinese jets much cheaper than a $35-million Russian MiG-29. Also, representatives from Russian Defense Export said that there was nothing wrong with re-exporting, which is in accordance with the decision of the Russian government. They added that there is no law that says there should be any agreement with Russian manufacturers citing the example of RD-33 that was re-exported to Egypt and was given permission by the Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation in 2007. These engines are sold to ...

5 Stage Axial-Flow Micro Turbine - The Worlds Most Advanced Micro Jet.
Here it is, the world's most advanced micro jet. about 4.5" diameter and puts out roughly 100 lbs of static thrust. This is the 5 stage Bladon turbine. Can it fit in an rc jet? You bet it can. With twice the thrust. Can people afford it, well, pretty sure some can, but not many. All in all, this is an engineering marvel. The Bladon brothers took an axial-flow turbine and scale it down to rc jet standards. Simply Marvelous. Currently, the turbine is only used by Jaguar automotive. thanks for watch and please subscribe www.cozmiktoys.com

OS FS-52 Four Stroke RC Glow Engine Reassembly Part 2
In this video I reassemble the OS Engines FS-52 four stroke glow engine. When assembling an engine keep everything clean and lubricated. Any dirt will be trapped and grind expensive parts into scrap over time. Oil is necessary in the crankcase of a model four stroke at start up after cleaning or rebuild, as it takes time for enough oil to accumulate in the engine. Most manufacturers don't say anything about this as the first starts are usually with a very rich setting, but I don't think it makes any sense to start an engine dry. The only other note is to be sure that bearings seat properly when reinstalled or they may bind when the prop is tightened, loading and probably ruining the bearings very quickly. I had to split the video into two parts, so look for the other parts in my videos. Disassembly www.youtube.com Reassembly Part 1 www.youtube.com
